Story
Mama Lacy will soon be available for adoption. Here is her story: Lacy was a free roaming cat in a rural area where a community member was caring for many abandoned & discarded cats and kittens, providing them with food, water, outside shelter and trying to get them all fixed. But she saw Lacy was pregnant and had just given birth to four and that this was probably her third litter. Her caregiver loved her, had named her and knew she and her kittens deserved a better life. So she reached out to Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation (AC ARF) for help to keep Mama Lacy and her kittens safe, healthy and happy. On December 27 when the kittens were only 2 days old, AC ARF arranged for Lacy to go with her four babies to our partner foster, Embry Kitty foster. Their Foster Momma told us that Lacy has proven to be an excellent kitten mama, nursing them and keeping her babies clean and safe, and moving them when she felt they were ready. From a cat carrier to a raised hidey box, then to a kiddie pool (where Lacy could jump out and take a break), and finally more freedom to explore and play in kitty room! Mama Lacy and kittens are still with their Foster Momma warm, safe and warm. As soon as they are ready, they will all be vetted and neutered through AC ARF and, once healed, adoptable through Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation. Please let AC ARF know if you might be interested in meeting/adopting Lacy.

Story
Hi, I’m Munchkin. I used to be called Velvet, but I got this name because I’m just a little guy. Even though I’m a year-old brown tabby, I am only about 11 pounds. However, I do have a big personality, and I love to leap high into the air to catch a string toy. Boy, that’s my favorite activity. My foster mom has taken lots of videos of me chasing those toys. Most of the time my foster mom can find me sitting by one and begging with my eyes for her to 'make it move”! The treat game is another of my favorite activities. See, we have a puzzle that my foster family uses and she puts treats in them. Then I have to figure out how to get them out. I do love treats. OOOH and that push-pop-licky thing - I think she calls it a Churu… wow those are awesome! Like, I’ll do anything for one of those. I am a bit nervous around strangers, and dogs really scare me. I’d love a forever family that is older and quiet. I don’t remember what happened to me or how I ended up in the shelter (I was really young), but,  it must have been a little traumatic- all I remember is my foster mom picking me out of all the others. She said she saw something special in me. I’ve been with her for about 9 months, and I’d really love to find a forever family. I think I could be a wonderful emotional support animal. I will make a strong bond to one person and they will be my forever person. I will head butt them and rub on their legs while they are cooking dinner. I love to cuddle up while you watch TV and I’m a good nighttime cuddle buddy. Maybe you are looking for me, just as I am looking for you? Story
See Courtesy Posting Disclaimer * ‼️BONDED PAIR OF SISTERS‼️  Oak Ridge, TN Meisha and Remi are 1½-year-old bonded sisters who spent their first year surviving on the streets together after being abandoned as tiny kittens. When the world was cold and scary, they curled up together. When one was afraid, the other stayed close. They survived because they never left each other’s side. Now they are safe in foster care… but they are still waiting for someone to choose them. The challenge has been that they are a little shy, and shy cats are often the most overlooked. “Shy” does not mean unfriendly. It simply means they need time to observe, feel safe, and build trust. Cats like Meisha and Remi often form incredibly deep and loyal bonds with the people who give them patience and kindness. Sometimes “shy” just means they’re waiting for the right person. Could that person be you? Meisha – the curious, playful explorer who loves investigating everything. Remi – the gentle, sensitive sweetheart who gains confidence from her sister. Together they love to: - Play and wrestle - Zoom around the house - Groom each other - Curl up together for cozy nap. Their dream home: • Quiet, calm, indoor-only home • Patient humans willing to let them adjust at their own pace • They LOVE other cats • Possibly okay with a calm, cat-savvy dog Health & Habits: ✔ Spayed ✔ Vaccinated ✔ FeLV/FIV negative ✔ Dewormed ✔ On flea/tick/heartworm prevention ✔ Perfect litter box manners They already survived the hardest part of life. Now they’re just waiting for someone to give them the one thing they’ve never truly had… a FOREVER home together.  ❤️For more information or to meet these two sweet souls contact: Terry Berliner Haberman terryhaberman@yahoo.com (865-934-8441) APPLICATION REQUIRED [Posted 4/28/2026]  *Please be aware that this animal is a courtesy posting for the owner ONLY. Story
Meet Loki – Your Shy, Sweet Shadow Looking for a gentle soul to add to your feline family? Loki is a stunning, sleek black kitty with bright, thoughtful eyes and a heart full of quiet sweetness. Loki was born July 14th, 2025 and is fully vaccinated. This handsome boy is a bit on the shy side with people, but he’s blossoming more every day. He doesn’t hide—Loki enjoys being out and about in the house, watching the world from cozy corners or lounging comfortably near his humans. He’s slowly learning that people are pretty great, and he’s even started coming over for pets and sitting next to his foster mom on the couch. What Loki does know for sure is how much he loves other cats. He absolutely thrives around feline friends and would be happiest in a home with at least one confident kitty to show him the ropes. Loki is looking for a patient, loving family who will let him grow at his own pace and celebrate the small victories along the way. If you have a peaceful home, kind hearts, and resident cats who wouldn’t mind a new companion, Loki may just be the perfect fit. Give Loki the chance to bloom—he’s ready to become someone’s quietly devoted companion.  Adoption information at https://shelteranimalsrescue.org/adoptVisit the SARG, Inc. website for more information about our policies, events, and to submit an online application for one of our animals: https://www.shelteranimalsrescue.org.April 28, 2026, 6:03 pm
