Story
Whiskers is a young adult tuxedo with very striking white whiskers and eyelashes. He was treated for urethral obstruction but his prior owners were unable to move him indoors or keep him on the crystal-preventing diet that is the best way to avoid future obstruction. When he obstructed the second time, he was released for further treatment and to seek a new home that could provide for his special diet. Whiskers is a friendly cat who prefers cuddling and petting to being carried. He is pretty talkative, so if you like a little chatty friend to tell you stories, Whiskers may be just the cat for you. Whiskers has been vaccinated and microchipped, and is seeking an indoor-only home with a person or family that can continue his special diet. For more information or to donate toward Whiskers' care, please contact Jes at docjesadams@gmail.com or 509-690-7343.

Story
My name is Khoshekh Gershwin-Palmer (after the fantastic cat from “Welcome to Nightvale”); I am 3 years old. I used to be a stray and hung out a while in some nice folks’ barn until I turned up one day not using my hind leg. Those folks brought me in for x-rays, and it turned out I had a dislocated ankle with a fracture in one of the ankle bones. As you can see, I don’t need that leg anyway. I’m all healed up now and am looking for my permanent home. I am not on any medications; I have been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Since I only had the one extra leg and don’t have any more to spare, I am seeking an indoor-only home. I am good with other cats (shared the barn with a couple at my prior hang-out), and with calm dogs (per my foster home). I love to be petted and to chase toys and laser lights, and enjoy hiding in the bath towel drawer. I am very cuddly, and greet my foster mom at the door when she comes home. If you are interested in adopting me, or would like to donate to my care, please contact Jes at docjesadams@gmail.com or 509-690-7343.

Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Aurora, Comet, Cosmo, Estella, and Eclipse were all surrendered by the same person, whose cat clowder got a bit out of control, requiring some spay/neuter services and a reduction in the cats remaining in the home. Aurora and Comet were each born 2/1/23, while Cosmo, Estella, and Eclipse are a bit younger, with a 6/1/23 birthdate (the months are correct, the actual days are unknown so we assigned them to the 1st). Aurora and Comet enjoy playing with wand toys, enjoy being petted, and accept being held for brief periods. Cosmo, Estella, and Eclipse also enjoy wand toy play, will tolerate petting, and are nervous about being held. As is typical in undersocialized cats, this group should all grow in confidence with their new families and ultimately bond well with people they know, though the three youngest may always be wary of strangers. AURORA - female, short-haired dilute tortoiseshell COMET - male, short-haired black COSMO - male, medium-haired black ESTELLA - female, medium-haired black with white spot ECLIPSE - female, medium-haired black All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Lilo and Stitch were taken in by a family after being found as abandoned strays. When no owner was found and their resident cat said "no thank you" to a little brother and sister, they were brought to the shelter. We estimated the date of birth for these beauties to be 9-19-2023. Lilo and Stitch are the friendliest pair of kitties. They have gotten along well with all their roommate cats and lived peacefully in their temporary foster home with dogs and children. At the shelter, they growled at the dog during their dog test, but were not overtly aggressive toward the dog. They both love snuggles as much as they love play. Either or both of these lovely cats would make a great addition to pretty much any home. We would suggest a home without toddlers for Stitch because he can play a little rough with your hands sometimes. He doesn't hurt you, but might scare a smaller child who needs a more gentle cat. Lilo should be good for all ages of respectful children. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Lilo is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application. Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Totem and Feather came to us when their owner could no longer care for them. Their estimated date of birth is 7/1/2023. This brother and sister are both very sweet and affectionate. Totem loves to sit by you and receive pets, while Feather will stand in your lap and drool as you give her scritches. Both love the wand toy (though it is clear Totem is the more playful hunter). Feather is shy when meeting new people or kitties (to which she will give warning hisses for them to give her space). Once she feels comfortable she becomes the sweetest kitty imaginable! Totem is more a social butterfly who is curious and ready to meet new friends. These kitties have never lived with children so we recommend older pet savvy children. They are ok with other cats and were tolerant of the big dog during their in-shelter dog test. If you are looking for fun affectionate kitties Feather and/or Totem might just be for you! They can be adopted as a pair for a small discount, but do not have to go together, as neither is dependent on the other. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Totem is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! This tabby trio, born 1/23/24, is the perfect bunch to get things started just right. They are fun, frisky, fabulous friends who will do well in pretty much any type of home. PEANUT,the only boy, has a ticked/mackerel tabby coat with pronounced front leg stripes. BUTTER, girl #1, has a lighter swirled target tabby coat. JELLY, girl #2, has the darker swirled target tabby coat. These cuties should adapt quickly to other cats, dogs, and children. Video Coming Soon We'd love to see all kittens go to homes that have another young, playful kitten, or to send 2 of them out as a pair (which gives you a great pair discount rate), but we do not require pair adoptions. If you prefer to adopt just one, and you don't have a similarly aged kitten at home already, please read our information on Single Kitten Syndrome. Then, when you apply for a single kitten, please let us know in the "Comments" field how you plan to deal with the "kitten crazies." All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Peanut is a suggested minimum of $65 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you!
