This sweetheart is in search of their forever home. Sapphire is about 5 years old and is a chihuahua-pomeranian mix. She is just about the sweetest girl around and loves people she's comfortable with. She is friendly to strangers and will approach with tail wagging, however can be head shy at first. She comes around rather quickly! At home she is very relaxed and loves to snuggle on the couch with you. However she is also a great adventure dog- she does very well on hikes up to a couple miles and loves car rides. She currently lives with a cat and is great at respecting space and boundaries. As far as other dogs go, she is aloof and tends to ignore them on walks. Sapphire is very food motivated which makes giving her daily medications super easy (she has Addison's Disease and needs daily meds and once a month injections with a veterinarian). She is also crate trained and potty trained using a bell to ask to go outside. Frieda is a young energetic Chihuahua Mix. She required a left hind leg amputation because of a prior injury that didn’t heal correctly. She doesn’t let the amputation slow her down - she can run and jump up and down from a couch unassisted. She’s a prolific talker who will carry on a conversation with you, argue with you, and tell you what to do, in her humble opinion. And she has opinions! She’s very friendly, likes people, car rides, pup cups and food. Frieda is potty trained and gets along well in her current large pack of dogs and one cat. She also has access to 3 goats who she talks to from outside their pen. Frieda's $300 adoption fee includes a microchip, vaccinations, and spay surgery. Kevin is a super sweet, senior gentleman and his hobbies are eating - he loves food - and sitting on laps. 😊 He is currently living with 12 other dogs, a cat, goats, and horses and he gets along with them all. He is a happy 10-year-old Chiweenie who would love to have a forever family to cuddle with. When Kevin arrived, it was clear that he was suffering with dental issues. With the extractions completed, Kevin is no longer in pain and eating is not an issue. He was diagnosed with a grade 4 heart murmur on both sides and takes his chewable heart medication like a champ. We found him wandering the streets of phoenix, lost and heat exhausted. Once we caught him, we realized he was in a lot of danger. He had a VERY large Perianal Hernia. Once we got him the lifesaving surgery he needed, he went from lethargic and slow, to a quick and HUNGRY senior raccoon! This kid would eat a 20lb bag of food if you let him! Gene is the most cuddly dog in the rescue. He sleeps in his fosters arms every night! He does great with other dogs that are respectful of him. For a senior, he can still catch some speed and trot around the house, it's the most darling sight. When he's inside, he wears belly bands to prevent marking. Gene is the leader of our Diaper Gang!
