Story
Dobby is a 10-year-old dog looking for a calm, patient, low-stimulation home. He is a sensitive dog who does best when life feels predictable and quiet. While he can be sweet and attached to his people, he also struggles with significant anxiety and does not do well in a busy household. We are making this decision carefully and with a lot of honesty because we want the best possible fit for him. Dobby needs an experienced adopter who understands anxious dogs and can give him the stable environment he needs. He is not the right match for every home, but we believe there may be a person or setting that suits him much better than ours. Our goal is to find Dobby a home where he can feel safe and understood.

Story
Mr Paco loves his treats, he’ll take out of your hand but he’s afraid doesn’t like to be touched. You’ll need to gain his trust and be patient. At this time I can’t tell you how he’ll be with a harness and leash. He’s using potty pads currently. Once he finds his person and begins to trust them, I can tell he’ll be a sweetheart.  ##2661661##

Story
Meet Pepino! Pepino is a gentle, sensitive boy who is making great progress as he settles into life outside the shelter. He’s still learning that the world is a safe place, so he’s looking for a patient and understanding family who will give him the time and space he needs to fully come out of his shell. This sweet, submissive pup gets along well with other dogs—especially calm, mellow companions who match his easygoing vibe. Pepino has a medium energy level and enjoys bursts of playful zoomies after a good nap, but he’s just as happy relaxing nearby once he’s comfortable. He appears to be house trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. If he can’t get out in time, he will use washable puppy pads, showing just how hard he’s trying to be a good boy. Pepino can be a little unsure around new people and may bark at first, but with patience and gentle introductions, he warms up and learns to trust. Pepino is crate trained and will settle in a wire crate, though he may whine briefly as he gets comfortable. He’s still building confidence with walks, so a home with a fenced yard would be ideal for him to feel safe while he continues to grow. Because Pepino can be a bit nippy when he feels overwhelmed or wants space, he would do best in a home without young children and with adopters who can respect his boundaries. Above all, Pepino is searching for a loving, patient person who will support him, encourage him, and show him that the world can be a safe and happy place. With time, kindness, and care, he’s sure to become a devoted and loving companion. ##2667762##

Story
This adorable bonded pair of six- to seven pound Applehead Chihuahuas, six year old male Coco and his sister five year old Jerry, have the same Mum, different Dad's. Coco is tan/brown and white, Jerry is solid tan. Their previous owner sadly had to surrender them to rescue when moving due to finances. As a bonded pair, we will adopt Coco and Jerri out together, we will not separate them. Luckily, these two have each other to navigate the changes! They are great together and love people- especially (older) kids! Have a kid that wants a pet to dress up? These are your dogs! They LOVE to wear clothes and will wait to be dressed. They love to cuddle under blankets too. The siblings are very codependent- they don't suffer from separation anxiety, but will follow each other around, They will tolerate other dogs and will get used to them, but aren't really into toys or playing (not dog park dogs). What they are into is food, and dressing up- these are foodie divas. The divas have made the journey together from San Antonio, Texas to Colorado and are being fostered in Boulder, available to meet you!!! Since arriving in Colorado they have enjoyed hikes, and have not enjoyed breweries/dog friendly bars- they just bark at the other dogs. We think they would do better with older kids as Coco currently barks at the toddler in their foster home. ***The divas are being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. The adoption fee does not include the transport fee (usually $125-200/per dog).*** Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio. ##2649021##
