Story
There are cute dogs, and then there are dogs that make you involuntarily say, "Oh my gosh, look at her." Jennie June is one of those dogs. Between her ridiculously adorable pointy ears, her long little baby deer legs, and the sweet way she looks at you like she's hoping you'll be her friend, this girl is almost unfairly precious. The best part though? As cute as she is, her personality somehow manages to be even sweeter. Jennie is the kind of dog that makes you want to scoop her up, tell her she's perfect, and spend the rest of the day carrying her around like the tiny treasure she is.

Jennie June is approximately 1 year old, weighs around 15 lbs, and we believe she may be a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix. With rescue it's always a mystery and we can never guarantee breed or age.
What we do know is that she's sweet as pie, has the best pointy ears, and somehow manages to look like a tiny baby deer.
If we had to describe Jennie in one word, it would be sweet. Actually, make that very, very, very sweet. This girl wants so badly to love and be loved. She's still figuring out exactly how to ask for affection, and honestly, the way she does it might be one of the cutest things we've ever seen. She'll do these little tap dances with her feet, throw in an adorable play bow, or slowly baby crawl her way toward you hoping you'll notice her. It's impossible not to melt when she does it.
One of our favorite things about Jennie is how excited she gets when you talk to her in a baby voice. Tell her she's pretty. Tell her she's cute. Tell her she's the best girl ever. She absolutely eats it up. You can practically see her little confidence boost in real time. It's adorable and we're pretty sure she'd happily accept compliments as a full-time job.
Jennie is dog friendly and has done well with other dogs. When she first meets a dog, especially one that's bigger than her, she can be a little shy and submissive. She'll make herself as tiny as possible while she figures everything out. Even when she's feeling unsure, she's incredibly tolerant and respectful. She isn't looking to start drama or boss anyone around. She simply likes a minute to settle in and get comfortable.
Jennie also met our house cat, Biggie, and did wonderfully. She was respectful, appropriate, and didn't chase him or seem bothered by any of his cat antics. Biggie also appeared comfortable around her. While we don't know if she's ever lived with cats before, her introduction went very well. If you have a cat at home, we'd be happy to arrange a kitty sleepover upon request.
Jennie is crate trained, although she occasionally appreciates a little encouragement to head inside. Once settled, she does well. She's also potty trained and has been doing great with her routine.
One thing to know about Jennie is that she's still fairly new to things like handling, leash walking, and some of the everyday experiences that many dogs take for granted. She's learning, making progress, and will continue to blossom with a patient family that's willing to help build her confidence. She's the kind of dog that just needs a little kindness and encouragement and then she gives that love right back tenfold.
As close to perfect as she is, Jennie does have one tiny flaw. She loves her people so much that she isn't exactly shy about voicing her opinion when separated from them. She can be vocal and has been known to bark or scratch at a door if left behind for a moment. Because of this, we think she'd do best in a home rather than an apartment setting.
Jennie is truly one of those dogs that is hard not to fall for. She's sweet, gentle, affectionate, adorable, and has enough charm packed into her tiny body to brighten even the worst day. If you're looking for a best friend who will adore you right back, Jennie might just be your girl.
We are willing to test Jennie June with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
