Story
Twinkle’s story is as heartbreaking as it is inspiring. She came to us after someone claimed to have “found” her wrapped in a soiled diaper. But after a little digging, we discovered the truth—it was actually her owner who had abandoned her under false pretenses. Even more devastating, she had posted online about Twinkle’s injury but waited too long to get her proper care. By the time she came into our care, it was too late for surgery. Despite that neglect, Twinkle has held onto her spirit. She has hind leg paresis, meaning she has partial mobility—not full paralysis. And while surgery was no longer an option, she’s made incredible strides through supplements and alternative therapies like acupuncture, electromagnetic treatment, massage, and physical therapy. She’s showing steady, meaningful progress. She does need her bladder and bowels expressed 3–4 times a day, but she’s a total champ about it—cooperative, patient, and even helps by posturing. The process takes just a couple of minutes. ? More about Twinkle: • Resilient, loving, and full of personality • Great eater and enjoys all the things mobile dogs do • Gets along well with other respectful animals • Best with older, calm kids (10+) • No other health concerns Twinkle is about 5-6 years old, She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm and tick borne diseases. Twinkle needs a special adopter—someone experienced or willing to learn about special needs care, with the time and dedication to help her thrive. She’s been let down before, but she hasn’t let it define her. She’s ready to love and be loved in a home that truly sees her. If you’re that kind of person, Twinkle is ready to be your shining light. Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Snack Breed: Chihuahua mix Sex/Age/Weight: Male/estimated DOB 09/2024/ about 10 pounds Vetting: Up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventatives House trained/Crate Trained: Working on house training; needs to be placed in crate at night but he settles down in a few minutes and sleeps through the night. Dogs/Cats/Children: Lives with other dogs; there are cats in another room, but when we’ve walked him through, he ignores them; no children Energy Level: Energetic puppy, but he’ll settle and sit next to his foster mom after a bit of roughhousing with our resident dog. Before FAR/My History: Unknown except he lived with A LOT of dogs. Working on: House training, walking on leash, and knowing his name Things I like: Playing with his brothers (foster and biological) Things I don’t like: Loud noises Things that make my humans happy: Snack and his brother sure are cute! Ideal Family/Home: We’d love it if he and his brother Pinto were adopted together, but that’s not a requirement. Having a friendly resident dog would be ideal, so he learns how to be a dog. Special Notes: Snack and his brother Pinto are blind, but they really don’t let that get in their way. They use the steps to get on and off the bed several times a day. They wrestle and play like sighted puppies, but they’re more tactile and miss visual cues. Snack is more outgoing and initiates play. If you are interested in giving Snack a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt.
