Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Snack Breed: Chihuahua mix Sex/Age/Weight: Male/estimated DOB 09/2024/ about 10 pounds Vetting: Up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventatives House trained/Crate Trained: Working on house training; needs to be placed in crate at night but he settles down in a few minutes and sleeps through the night. Dogs/Cats/Children: Lives with other dogs; there are cats in another room, but when we’ve walked him through, he ignores them; no children Energy Level: Energetic puppy, but he’ll settle and sit next to his foster mom after a bit of roughhousing with our resident dog. Before FAR/My History: Unknown except he lived with A LOT of dogs. Working on: House training, walking on leash, and knowing his name Things I like: Playing with his brothers (foster and biological) Things I don’t like: Loud noises Things that make my humans happy: Snack and his brother sure are cute! Ideal Family/Home: We’d love it if he and his brother Pinto were adopted together, but that’s not a requirement. Having a friendly resident dog would be ideal, so he learns how to be a dog. Special Notes: Snack and his brother Pinto are blind, but they really don’t let that get in their way. They use the steps to get on and off the bed several times a day. They wrestle and play like sighted puppies, but they’re more tactile and miss visual cues. Snack is more outgoing and initiates play. If you are interested in giving Snack a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. Story
Meet Marshall, a 10-pound chihuahua with a spirit that’s as gentle as they come. Estimated to be around 10 years old, he’s had a hard life that makes him appear older than he is, but don’t let that fool you — this little guy has so much love left to give. Found as a stray in Texas, Marshall came to us in heartbreaking condition. His nails had grown so long they curled into his paw pads, and he is likely completely blind due to advanced cataracts. He also has arthritis in his back and hind legs. Despite everything he’s been through, Marshall remains an incredibly sweet, trusting soul who just wants to feel safe and loved. Because of his blindness and fear of navigating new spaces, Marshall prefers to stay within a small, familiar area. He’ll thrive with a patient adopter willing to create a cozy, predictable setup for him — a comfy bed close to his food and water so everything he needs is always within easy reach. Marshall is a mellow guy who enjoys just being by your side. He is currently in a foster home with other fellow senior pups and does great with them. Marshall is fully housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go out by crying or softly barking. Due to his mobility and vision challenges, he will need someone who can gently carry him outside when it’s time for a potty break. If you have a soft spot for seniors and a heart big enough for a dog who needs a little extra understanding, Marshall is ready to give you all the love he has. His adoption fee is $400 and Marshall is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and will be having full dental work done soon. He was never neutered and the vet recommended not doing so at his age. He also qualifies for our Senior-to-Senior program so if you’re 60 or older, you can adopt Marshall for $300. Story
Meet Rocco! Rocco is our devilishly handsome young guy with the cutest underbite you’ve ever seen. Basically still a puppy, he’s active, agile, and always ready for fun. This quicksilver boy loves to be near his people and definitely keeps you on your toes! Rocco will need a secure fenced yard—otherwise you might find yourself chasing him down the street. He’s also a bit of a watchdog at the window (he once went through a screen, and blinds didn’t survive either!), but window coverings solved the problem. He’s fantastic with cats, dogs, and children, and would thrive in a home with multiple people and at least one small-to-medium dog companion. Rocco does have some separation anxiety, so a lap to cuddle on while the family is busy would make him happiest. This boy has tons of positives: • Super affectionate and loyal—he bonds closely with his person. • Sleeps peacefully in bed but respects your space. • Not a troublemaker with other pets. • Loves toys, fetch, and chew time. • Eats dry food only (a bonus for a little dog!). • Great in the car and on walks—though he must be securely tethered because he’s a clever escape artist. • Knows some basic commands and is very smart. • No resource guarding and can be picked up easily. Rocco isn’t perfect (he might nip your backside if you’re being a meanie!), but his sweetness and devotion far outweigh the quirks. If he were a little older, he’d already have a forever spot with us. If you’re ready to meet this amazing dog and you live in Connecticut, apply today at www.brasscityrescue.org.

Story
This guy is absolutely precious, and my adult son calls him Chocolate Rain. Walter is an older super Mutt who is looking to land in a home that will respect his boundaries and be his forever clan. His house trained, friendly, affectionate, rides well in the car, He's fantastic with other animals and he should only be with dog savvy kids age 12+. Walter absolutely needs a fenced in yard. You're not going to be able to walk the wet food pounds off of him because he's a butthead about touching his throat. He won't let us get a collar on him. I can only get a slip lead on after being his best friend and having Nudgers in my hand. He initiates all petting and follows me everywhere. But he will not let me get my hands around him. So, if you have a fenced yard and you can respect his boundaries (he will also respect yours), then you're going to love him. Just put a soft bed on the floor in your room and he will just think you're a Saint and will worship you forever. Apply for our little fat old man at www.brasscityrescue.org
