Story
What an adorable looking chihuahua mix this pup is. Just look at those amber eyes, brown nose, and those amazing ears. Asher is three years old and weighs in at around 10 pounds. He has a short blonde coat. He is a confident guy with a medium energy level. He is a loving boy who is eager to please. Chihuahuas are known as tiny dogs with giant personalities. They are loyal and loving, wanting nothing more than to be with you. They love people attention. They are often smart, quick to learn, and to process information. Quirky at times but also quite playful, they like to be active. They are often bold and confident. They definitely have an enthusiasm for life. It is not known if Asher has ever met a cat. He loves people and considers himself a cuddle dog. He loves attention and behind the ear scratches. He gets along with the dogs and children. As to training, it is progressing, but it would be best to start at the beginning on house and leash training. He is crate trained. He will first need to have an established bathroom routine (always after eating, playing, sleeping, and before bedtime). He will also need plenty of exercise and lots of attention.Daily exercise will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. He will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. It will prevent boredom. A secure back yard (so he cannot dig his way out) would give him free time to play and burn off extra energy. Chihuahuas are known to be playful active dogs. Using the right guidance with consistency, repetition, and patience, will help him with the skills he needs to refresh or master. Cheerful praise and lots of treats will also go a long way in helping him master daily routines. If Asher sounds like your kind of canine companion, do not delay and apply for him today. The adoption fee for Asher is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.March 2, 2024, 6:26 am

Story
Valentino is an 8 week old male full bred long hair chihuahua puppy, weighing just 2-3 lbs currently.  He has the double merle gene, which caused micropathalmia (under developed eyes that are smaller than normal).  As a result of this, he is vision impaired and possibly completely blind.  Due his small size and vision impairment, we recommend older kids who know to respect a dog's space. This sweet guy is a tiny bundle of joy and is working on housebreaking and crate training.   PLEASE NOTE: We are being very careful reviewing applications for this sweet, tiny boy. We want to ensure his new home will be able to accomodate his sight impairment and his other potential future health challenges.  ##1975926##

Story
Solana is a petite 2 year old spayed female chihuahua mix, weighing 9 lbs.  She came from the hoarding case in TN, along with Sissi, Salah, Freddie, Lola and Elvis. Solana is a sweet girl who loves to be with her person and snuggle. She is up to date on all shots, but is not yet spayed. She will be spayed by our rescue soon.  She is crate trained, pad trained, and outdoor potty trained.  Good with other dogs, people, and kids.  She has not been cat tested, however we feel she would likely do fine with cats.  This little lady has a lot of love to give and is excited to meet her furever family! ##1975951##

Story
Lola is an 8 year old female chihuahua mix, weighing 6 lbs.  She came from the hoarding case in TN, along with Sissi, Salah, Pepper, Solana, Freddie, and Elvis. Lola is a shy, sweet girl who is learning to trust people and accept love and affection for probably the first time in her life.  She is crate trained, pad trained, and outdoor potty trained.  She has not been fixed yet, but will be spayed soon by our rescue.  Good with other dogs, people, and kids.  She has not been cat tested, however we feel she would likely do fine with cats.  Like most senior girls, she has cloudy eyes, which has made her vision impaired, but that doesn't stop her from seeing the good in people.  This petite girl has a lot of love to give and is looking forward to meeting her furever family! ##1975954##
