Story
Name: Louis Nicknames: Louie. Lulu. Breed: Chihuahu mix Sex: Male Age: ~12-13 years old Weight: 20 lbs. Before OMD: Brought to the city shelter to be euthanized by his previous owners because they decided he was too old. The shelter, thankfully, took Louis in and immediately looked for help from a rescue partner instead - that partner was us and he became ours. Energy level: Overall low with a few laughable crazy moments when he runs around with his toys. What we love: His beautiful grey muzzle. His stoic face hinting he is solving all of the world’s problems. His love for his people and snuggling. What makes us laugh: When he makes his flying leap attempts to get on the couch, but ultimately misses almost every time. The way his lip gets stuck on his gums revealing his snaggletooth. When he's extra comfy and he strikes a great superman pose on his back. What he loves most: Snuggling his foster sibling on a soft spot. His lamb chop. Naps. Sunbathing. You should know: He's a resource guarder, and at 12 years old, we don't see this behavior getting much better. Basically, when he has high value items or is eating his meals, he should just be left alone. Redeeming quality: He is *excellent* on leash. A total dream. Dogs: Sure, he loves 'em! He'll just need to be separate with toys and meals. Cats: Good with him. Kids: No thanks! This old man is looking for a retirement home, not a daycare. House-trained: Yes, but will occasionally mark. Belly bands are your friend and he's cool with wearing them. Crate-trained: Yep - he protests at first, but ultimately settles down. Louis is neutered, had a dental, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT and IL and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please apply on our website.

Story
This absolutely adorable little duo is Maybeline and Dasie! Maybelines owner worked long hours and lived in a small apartment and thought that May May needed a companion because she was home alone so much. She then took in Dasie so they would have each other! Unfortunately the apartment owner decided that they no longer supported dogs in the apartment complex and sadly their owner felt she had no choice but to surrender them to retain her housing, and hope they could find a better life with parents who could be home more. Thankfully a loving foster home with a soft spot for little ones heard their story and was happy to take these two sweeties in until they could find their true forever home! Maybeline is 12 months old and weighs 13.6 lbs. She’s a scruffy, adorable little love! Dasie is a smooth coated chiweenie and she weighs 8 lbs and is 2 years old. Both of these sweet girls have had their vaccines completed, deworming, they have tested negative for heartworm and are current on flea, tick and heartworm preventative! They have also been microchipped and are now spayed! They are healthy as can be and are officially ready for adoption! In foster care these two settled in beautifully. They live with a cat and other dogs and they get along fabulously with everyone! They love playing with each other but also play beautifully with all other dogs, both male and female, larger and small. They peacefully exist with their kitty with no issues as well! In their former home as well as their foster home they have snuggled in bed with their parents at night and sleep in bed through the night! These girls are youngsters so have okay energy and love to play with each other as well as play with toys, balls, and they love treats! They are used to free feeding (meaning food is always left out to graze on) and they have a healthy relationship with food and are happy to share and do not resource guard at all. These girls have great manners in the house and love to cuddle on the sofa and in bed, and reliably go potty outside or use pee pads if provided, whichever their parents prefer. Their former mom said she would love for them to be placed together and we would love that too! But we would consider separating them if they were to go to a home where they would continue to have a canine playmate and companion as it’s clear having a doggy friend is something they truly love. They will happily play with other dogs, but are also frequently found curled up together snuggling on the sofa or in a doggy bed. They are friendly with people and have been used to a household that is more relaxed and easy going, with adults and older children. These to babies walk okay on a leash and really love a chance to play in a fenced yard! They are sweet little devoted companions who are dreaming of a forever home where they can not only have doggy companionship, but also the devoted and unconditional love of wonderful parents. If you’d love to welcome these sweet girls into your home and give them a beautiful future, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!

Story
Meet Oliver, a dashing 11-month-old neutered male Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mix with a stunning long-haired blue Merle coat! This 14-pound sweetheart is a happy, friendly boy who gets along with everyone - dogs, cats, people, and kids. While he might take a little time to warm up to strangers, Oliver's loving nature shines through once you get to know him. From his CT foster: "His personality is starting to shine! He loves snuggling, bellyrubs, being carried around, all toys, playing fetch, getting scratched behind the ears, following you around, humans and all dogs, and playing with his favorite toy which is a plastic donut. He's not a huge fan of walking on a leash but tolerates it to do his business outside. He is a velcro dog for sure and must be with me at all times, he cries if I'm not in his line of sight. He even manages to squeeze himself under my desk while I'm working to be closer to me. He also gets nervous around quick movements." This adorable pup thrives on attention and affection, making him a perfect companion for someone who'll shower him with love. Medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained, Oliver is ready to bring joy and snuggles to his forever home. Apply today to meet this 100% good doggo and start a new adventure together! **PLEASE NOTE: Oliver will be available at our adoption event on 6/22 at Petco in Dayville, CT. We are accepting applications on him now! We work hard to match each dog to the best applicant for them, so we will start processing applications closer to the event.** Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2411163##

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This little ball of fun is AMY, a chihuahua mix and we are not sure what she is mixed with just that she is mostly chihuahua.  She is 4 months old and 9 pounds and loves to play and have fun with all of the dogs in the home.  She is being potty trained and goes out with all of the dogs and she is catching on fast.  As long as we have her we will continue to train her as best we can. AMY was found wandering the streets of San Antonio, TX alone and scared, she was very happy to be picked up and even happier to get in a house.  Now do not let that sweet little face fool you, she is spirited and loves, loves to play with the dogs and run zoomies.  She tires herself out and then wants to cuddle to take a nap.  Even though she is crate trained she still wants to cuddle up with a human and she does not mind sharing that space with another dog, big or small.  Sometimes she can be submissive when playing with the dogs. If you are interested in adopting AMY, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         May 7, 2025, 11:21 am
