Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Cinnamon! Cinnamon’s story is one of love and heartbreak. She was adopted from Rose’s Rescue a few years ago and was dearly loved by her family. Sadly, life took an unexpected turn, and despite loving her very much, they had to make the difficult decision to return her to the rescue. Losing her family has been hard on this little girl, but she is slowly learning to trust that good things can happen again. At just around 9 pounds, Cinnamon is the perfect pint-sized companion. She absolutely loves to snuggle and would be happiest in a home where her people are around much of the time. If you’re looking for a tiny shadow to keep you company and wants to curl up beside you on the couch, Cinnamon may be your girl. She previously lived with another dog. They weren’t inseparable buddies, but they coexisted peacefully. However, if she had a choice, she would  prefer having her people all to herself.  We don’t know how she feels about cats. Tiny humans, however, aren’t really her cup of tea, so she’d do best in an adult home or one with older, respectful children. Cinnamon appears to be house-trained and hasn’t had any accidents in her foster home. She also loves going for walks! Don’t let her little legs fool you—she’s happy to keep up with you. She may bark at other people or dogs from a distance (she has a reputation to protect, after all!), but once she gets the chance to meet them, she’s done just fine. She’ll tolerate a crate when needed, although it’s not her favorite place to be. She may protest for a while when she’s crated, but she does eventually settle down. Of course, given the choice, she’d much rather be curled up beside her favorite person. When Cinnamon’s family said goodbye, they had just one wish—that we find someone who will love and cherish her the way they did. She has so much love left to give, and she’s hoping her next home will be her forever one. Story
Meet Bootsie: The 9-Year-Old Diva Who’s Done Tolerating Nonsense Listen up, dog lovers — Bootsie has arrived, and she’s not here to play games (unless it involves treats). This 9-year-old queen weighs in at a mighty under-20 pounds, which is impressive considering the sheer size of her personality. She’s house trained, leash-ready, and will absolutely love you unconditionally — as long as you follow her very reasonable list of rules. Her Rules: Rule #1: Do NOT pick her up. She is not a purse dog. She is a dignified woman. Rule #2: Hands off the back and sides. She didn’t say you could touch there. Rule #3: Bring snacks. Always bring snacks. She is highly food motivated and will respect you more for it. Bootsie does have a small lump on her shoulder, but don’t worry — the vet confirmed it’s benign. It’s basically her villain origin story scar, and it only makes her cooler. She gets along great with other dogs, as long as they mind their business. Confrontational dogs? Hard pass. She needs an adult-only home with a fenced yard — because children are chaotic and Bootsie deserves peace. In return for your patience and respect, Bootsie will reward you with fierce loyalty, couch cuddles on her terms, and the honor of being chosen by a dog who has standards. Apply at www.rescue330.org — if you think you’re worthy. Bootsie's adoption fee is $150. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and current on heartworm & flea prevention. Story
Honey & Leo: Twice the Love, Forever Together - We are Looking for a special foster home for them. This sweet brother-and-sister duo had their world turned upside down last week when their beloved owner unexpectedly passed away during surgery. His family lovingly cared for Honey and Leo until they could come to our shelter to begin the search for another forever home.Honey and Leo are 7-year-old Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mixes who weigh approximately 30 pounds each. Their journey hasn`t always been easy. They originally came from a hoarding situation before being adopted together four years ago by a wonderful owner who gave them the love and stability they deserved. Now, through no fault of their own, they`re looking for a fresh start once again. At the shelter, Honey and Leo are understandably shy, timid, and shut down. Losing the only home they`ve known has been overwhelming, but we know there are two wonderful little personalities waiting to shine again once they`re back in a loving home.Leo is the brave big brother. He`s the first to investigate something new, and Honey happily follows his lead. Watching them together is a beautiful reminder that no matter what life throws their way, they always have each other. Because of their incredible bond, Honey and Leo must be adopted together—no exceptions.Honey and Leo have not lived with cats, so their cat compatibility is unknown. They also have not been around other dogs while living with their owner. If you have a resident dog, a meet and greet will be required to make sure everyone is a good match. Compatibility with children is also unknown. We`re hoping to find these two a calm, patient home with a securely fenced yard where they can decompress, rebuild their confidence, and simply enjoy being dogs again. We know asking someone to open their heart and home to two dogs is a big request. But we also know that the lucky family who says `yes` won`t just be rescuing Honey and Leo—they`ll gain two loyal companions who have already proven that love can carry you through life`s hardest moments. If you`d like to foster this deserving duo the loving home, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete our online dog adoption application. Honey and Leo have lost so much—but with your help, they can find home again.
