She is expected to be fully grown at about 1 year old and is a total blend of breeds (see full DNA results below). She has quickly adjusted to her new foster home and her current foster parent has many positive things to share: “Buttercup is very sweet and friendly to my dogs and the neighborhood dogs who stop by. I was told that she was skittish, and she has been a bit, but not bad overall. Buttercup has done great with my two dogs – especially Popeye who is playful and will play with her as much as she wants. Buttercup has had no accidents in her crate or in the house. She is affectionate and a cuddler with a lap dog side to her personality. Prospective adopters need to know that Buttercup is a very active girl. One of the reasons she has done well here is that I have a fenced yard and doggie doors so she can run and explore quite a bit. She loves toys and Nylabones and will run for tennis balls that I throw. I was worried about her energy for the first 24 hours, but she is settling in very well and does great with set routines. Buttercup is content in her crate with a few toys and was only barking on day one. She will need walks and playtime to burn off her energy. I believe she would be fine as an only dog if her new owner spends time playing fetch, keep-away, tug of war, and walks. She already plays keep-away and tug of war with my dog. After outside time, she will curl up for a nap on a doggie bed with Popeye. Once you have an approved application, I will be happy to do a phone chat to answer all of your questions and set up a meet.“ Buttercup’s previous adopter was kind enough to leave DNA results for Buttercup and they are pretty surprising for a small (15 Lb.) girl like her: 20.6% Rottweiler 18.4% Labrador Retriever 18.3% Cocker Spaniel 15.7% Beagle 3.7% Golden Retriever 23.7% Supermutt (undefined)   Original Posting: Buttercup is 100% puppy. She loves everyone she meets—people and other dogs as well and is always ready to play. Buttercup is working on crate-training in her foster home and doing well with that. She has also been working on her leash skills as that seemed to be a new experience for her when she arrived here with us. She does tend to like to spin around and act silly on walks but with daily practice in her new home, she should soon have the whole process under control! Buttercup wanted to play during her photo shoot so it was little tough to get great pics of this cutie. She’s a fun little pup who’s certainly going to be a great joy for her new family. Buttercup weighs about 15 pounds currently and her adoption fee is $350. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. Meet Missy! Missy is a tan & brown 11-12 year old, 13 pound chihuahua. Missy's owner had to move to a nursing home, so she is hanging with TRI until she can find her new forever home. Missy is a very sweet girl. Missy loves to cuddle and be held. She'd like a fenced in yard to roam around in. She didn't have a lot of exposure to animals or humans outside of her previous home, but she is doing well adjusting. Missy is in foster care right now with cats, but she likes to dart at them so we think a no cat house is probably best. Missy also has two human foster siblings, ages 6 and 10, and does great with the kids. Missy is great companion dog for some lucky family! My name is Sookie! I am 1 year old and I weigh approximately 9 lbs. I am fostered in Danbury, North Carolina but easy, affordable transportation is available. I was turned into the local County Animal Shelter but I'm not sure why. I'm such a sweet, loving little guy! I love being with people, especially my foster dad! I follow my fosters around the house and when it's time to go to bed I can easily jump up into there high-rise bed and cuddle up next to my foster dad. I ride okay in the car. My last few car rides have not been very pleasant as they took me out of my previous home. I have a medium energy level and I love to play with the other dogs. I get along well with other dogs, 5 lb to 100 lbs., all ages. I don't know about cats because the rescue doesn't have any. I would be good with kids, but I will not be adopted into a home with young children because I'm so small. I walk on a leash and I am not yappy. In fact for a chihuahua, I'm pretty quiet. My foster family says that I'm very smart! I have a very sweet temperament and have never shown any signs of aggression to any other dog or to a person.
