Story
Meet Brady! This guy is so loving and just wants to please his people. True to his collie breed he is vocal and loves to chat! He absolutely loves to play and would do very well with another playful dog. He would also like his future adopters to know that he LOVES bones and toys, they are his absolute favorite. Once he's all tuckered out he just wants to get snuggled up on the couch for lots of love and pets. This guy is also fully potty-trained and crate trained. He does well with dog-friendly cats, kids, and other dogs. Brady is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. To adopt him, please complete an adoption application at www.trevorsanimalrescue.org.  ##1878713##

Story
Kayleena was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2116273##

Story
Peabody's journey began when he was discovered as a stray, wandering the streets alone. After spending five days in "doggie jail," he found his way to the rescue  in search of a loving forever home. This charming pup is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations, ready to embark on the next chapter of his life. Described as a good boy with a heart full of love and energy, Peabody thrives in the company of an active family who can provide him with plenty of attention and playtime. He's adept at navigating the ins and outs of home life, being house, crate, and doggie door trained. While he hasn't been tested with cats, he's known to get along well with female dogs. However, Peabody does have a tendency to engage in fence fights with other dogs in his vicinity, which may require some training and supervision to manage. Despite this challenge, his affectionate nature shines through, making him a delightful companion for the right family. Since October of 2022, Peabody has been patiently waiting for his perfect match at the rescue, eager to find a forever home where he can shower his new family with love and joy. ##1563395##

Story
My story is both heart-warming and heartbreaking, but I'm glad I found my way back to the rescue organization that can help me find the forever home I deserve. I can be a gentle and loyal companion who simply craves the love and attention that every dog deserves. Despite the neglect I experienced in my previous home,I have adjusted well since being returned to the rescue. My shyness and caution around men is understandable, but with the right patience and care, I'm confident I will blossom into a wonderful family member. Here are a few key points about you that stand out: I am a loyal and humble companion who appreciates the simple things in life, like gentle pats and a calm voice. I may be a bit shy at first, but will warm up to people and become the heart of the home. I would do best in a quiet, loving environment, and would make a great match for older children or a veteran looking for a furry friend. Despite the neglect in my past, I have adjusted well since being returned to the rescue.  I truly believe that with the right forever family who is willing to give me the time, patience, and love I deserve, I will flourish. I have so much to offer, and I hope to find that special someone who can provide me with the forever home I've been searching for.  Please fill out an application for me at www.fureverdogdenver.com, if you have any questions or would like to meet me, please call 720 588-6809. ##2096191##

Story
Are you looking for a sweet, athletic, cute 10-month-old puppy? My name is Dray a 35lb magical mutt (Great Pyrenees/Australian Cattle Dog mix). I’m very chilled for a puppy and really enjoy hanging out with my human. I’m doing awesome with potty training (the doggie door helps a lot) and I’m doing well on leash.  I don’t mind being in the kennel but would rather have free range of the house while your home. I get along well with other dogs and like playing with kids. I’ll enjoy doing all the fun outdoorsy stuff Colorado has to offer once I get a little older (hikes, walks, camping and hanging out).  I would like a fenced back yard and another dog to play with would be a huge bonus, but I wouldn’t mind being the only puppy in the house either. If you think we are a good match, please apply today and in case I didn’t mention it earlier………….I’m a really good looking puppy! https://www.pawsonthegroundco.org/adoptionapplicationy!July 25, 2024, 3:57 pm

Story
Bubba deserves THE BEST home!   He has been waiting for a very long time.   He is a total wiggle body who loves other dogs of all ages and sizes.  He can be timid  in new situations and meeting new people but with each and every new adventure he gains more confidence.    Bubba would love a home with another confident dog to show him the ropes and will need a home with a yard.  His ideal person/family will have lots of patience. He was abused by someone attempting to put a leash on him so he takes a few days to trust his new people.   In his foster home he is a happy go lucky boy who completely trusts his foster mom and you would never know he is afraid of new people.  Foster mom can always put a leash on him and he acts like a very well adjusted dog.  His wish is to have a family where he can get more attention and love who have the patience to watch him blossom into the perfect companion.       To meet him fill out an application today:  www.pawsonthegroundcolorado.com/adoption-application July 25, 2024, 3:57 pm

Story
Hello, my name is Cissy, a curious, energetic, 10-month old, 25lb magical mutt (Australian Cattle Dog mix) with an awesome personality. I will have you laughing non-stop with my playful demeanor. I’m an active, incredible smart puppy but can also spend some time chilling on the back yard deck or next to the couch watching most sporting events.  I get along well with all dogs, big or small and I love playing with kids. I will be a great hiking buddy and really enjoy playing fetch. I’m crate and doggie door trained. I’m doing great on potty training and love going on walks and doing well on leash.  I would like a fenced back yard to keep me engaged and another dog to play with would be a huge bonus, but I don’t mind getting all the attention myself either. If you think you might be a good match for all my awesomeness hit the adoption link to get the ball rolling. https://www.pawsonthegroundco.org/adoptionapplicationJuly 25, 2024, 3:57 pm
