Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Five finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails).   Five: A Gentle Soul Searching for His Safe Place Five is the kind of dog whose presence is quiet but deeply felt. This 4-year-old Collie mix may not have had much in the way of love or stability in his early life, but he’s making up for it now in a foster home where he’s learning, healing, and beginning to trust. At 45 pounds, he’s the perfect medium-sized companion - gentle, sensitive, and quietly affectionate. Once just a number in a shelter, Five has slowly started to shed his past. He moves through the world with careful steps, especially around new people or unfamiliar situations, but every day brings a little more courage. He shadows his foster family from room to room, not quite ready for constant affection, but clearly drawn to connection. He’s most comfortable when he has another dog around, and he’s wonderfully respectful of cats, simply observing them with calm curiosity. Five is crate trained, nearly housebroken, and especially motivated by food and gentle guidance. He’s not fully confident on leash walks just yet, but he adores time outside in a fenced yard, where he can explore and play in a space that feels safe. Chew toys are a favorite pastime, and he’s learning which ones are his to keep. The ideal home for Five is one that’s peaceful and patient—with adults or older children who understand that building trust takes time. He would love another calm dog to show him the ropes, and a steady routine to help him feel secure. Underneath his initial shyness is a dog who wants to belong, and with the right people, he’ll be the kind of companion whose loyalty runs deep and quiet. Five is already on his way - he just needs someone to walk the rest of the journey with him.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
My story is both heart-warming and heartbreaking, but I'm glad I found my way back to the rescue organization that can help me find the forever home I deserve. I can be a gentle and loyal companion who simply craves the love and attention that every dog deserves. Despite the neglect I experienced in my previous home,I have adjusted well since being returned to the rescue. My shyness and caution around men is understandable, but with the right patience and care, I'm confident I will blossom into a wonderful family member. Here are a few key points about you that stand out: I am a loyal and humble companion who appreciates the simple things in life, like gentle pats and a calm voice. I may be a bit shy at first, but will warm up to people and become the heart of the home. I would do best in a quiet, loving environment, and would make a great match for older children or a veteran looking for a furry friend. Despite the neglect in my past, I have adjusted well since being returned to the rescue.  I truly believe that with the right forever family who is willing to give me the time, patience, and love I deserve, I will flourish. I have so much to offer, and I hope to find that special someone who can provide me with the forever home I've been searching for.  Please fill out an application for me at www.fureverdogdenver.com, if you have any questions or would like to meet me, please call 720 588-6809. ##2096191##

Hi, My name is Dray,  I'm a 1 1/2 year old male cattle dog mix. I am 42lbs! I'm crate trained, house broken, great on the leash, and am just an all-around good boy! I am very friendly with kids and all dogs, I love being part of a pack!  I can be very shy in new situations and with new people, but I'm very loving and playful once I get to know you.   I'm active and love to play and run outdoors, but inside the house, I'm pretty mellow and have fabulous house manners!  My favorite things to do are dog walks, dog parks, hikes, socializing with other dogs, chewing on my bone,  cuddling on the couch, and watching doggy adventures on TV.  I'm looking for my furever home.  To learn more about me and my cute personality, please click on my YouTube playlist link! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FZYsPoEwJpY&list=PLLbx_mIVmzUxEDtugz6ERzvnDX2afsE_o&pp=iAQB To meet me apply here! https://www.pawsonthegroundco.org/adoptionapplicationy!January 5, 2025, 9:47 pm

Story
Hi! I’m Rosebud! I am a sweet girl who loves to play - with other dogs, with my people, and even by myself! I’m energetic and social, and love having a ball or a stuffy tossed for me! I am crate trained and house trained. I don’t chew, but I will gently carry a shoe or toy around the house in my mouth. I love snuggling with my people, and if you let me, I will snuggle up in your lap on the couch or a chair. I’m affectionate and friendly and would do great in a home with someone who will take me to the dog park, on long hikes, or throw the ball for me in the backyard. I do well with other dogs and love to wrestle and play. I'm a 9-month-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, and I would love to find my fur-ever home - put in an application for me today!  Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2131324##
