Story
Sadie is a 4MO adorable Mutt.  Sadie and her 3 siblings were found abandoned on the side of the road in Texas.  We are guessing she will be about 35-45lbs when full grown. We don't know how many of them there were originally, but unfortunately it's safe to assume there were others that didn't make it.  Once they were rescued they were brought to a local vet to get the proper care and support they needed since they were emaciated and dehydrated.  Once sadie and her siblings were healthy and stable, they made their way to our rescue here in CO where we are hoping they find families of their very own.  Here is what Sadie's foster Momma has to say about her: "This little pup is a bit shy at first but with treats and a few good belly rubs she’ll become your best friend! Once she’s comfortable with you, she won’t leave your side! Sadie’s a quick learner and is very treat motivated. She’s already learned sit and is doing really well with potty training. She sleeps through the night in her crate. We highly recommend having a crate for her at her new home. While she’d love to sleep with you, she has a very positive tie to her crate and we can tell it’s a place of security for her. Sadie is incredibly sweet and does well with other dogs. We’re working on walking a leash but she's doing great so far! She is loving and snuggly and it's been so fun to watch her learn how great humans and life can be when she isn't trying to survive on the side of the road." What we know: Litter of 3 transferred from Littlefield Pet Haven in TX at ~3.5 months old. A large group of dogs was surrendered from a suspected hoarding situation and all are rumored to be related to some degree. Rescue asked CPR to take 14 of the dogs, 1 ended up staying back for medical reasons and will come at a later date if not adopted prior to the next transport. From the foster: Parker is living his best puppy life in Parker! ❤️ Every day brings something new, and he’s having so much fun taking it all in. He loves playing with his foster dog siblings, chasing toys, and running around the backyard. From the foster: He is a super cool dog however he is really really attached to me. It could be his trauma response And he could grow out of it but I can also see protective/ anxiety. I was the one who met all of his needs the first 24 hours so I can also understand that, however, he hasn’t really had much interest in the rest of my family. I left for work today and he spent most of the day voluntarily in his kennel. Doesn’t really bark at all or if he yip a little bit, he needs to go out. Here is super loyal Not a big jumper unless he’s really really excited Been socialized with another dog and two cats Super smart, went from not knowing where to go to the bathroom to within a few hours/ a day knowing where to pee inside (on a weather tech hard surface). He is sweet and playful. Took a day or two for him to go from hiding under a car for his walk to walking Important- he poops in hidden areas (so far only on a leash when guided) - like our garden bed covered in ivey or leaf piles. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
