Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Chencha finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Chencha | 3-Year-Old Collie/German Shepherd Mix | 40 lbs of Energy and Heart Chencha is a stunning 40-pound Collie/German Shepherd mix with a playful personality and an enormous heart. At three years old, she’s a high-energy, affectionate girl who loves being as close to her people as possible — paws in your lap, head under your hand, ready for pets at all times. She is almost fully house trained and understands that potty time happens outside. She’ll stand by the door to let you know she needs to go and does best with a consistent schedule. Chencha is kennel trained and settles after a little initial whining. She can experience some FOMO when left alone but relaxes once she adjusts. Chencha thrives on activity and would do best in a very active home with a securely fenced yard. She loves running, playing, and especially romping with other energetic dogs. A daily jog, hike, or long game of fetch would be right up her alley. After a good play session, she’s happy to sploot and recharge. On leash, she’s still building confidence and working through some reactivity, but she improves as the walk continues and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement. Chencha can also be vocal, especially when she’s excited or alerting to something, so she would not be a good fit for apartment living. A single-family home with space to move and play would be ideal for her. She enjoys toys, tug-of-war, chew bones, water play, and brushing. Because of her enthusiastic (and sometimes clumsy) play style, she would likely do best with older children. Chencha is ready for a patient, active, loving family who will continue helping her grow in confidence while embracing her joyful, silly spirit. In return, she’ll bring nonstop fun, loyalty, and plenty of impressive sploots.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Gabby | Collie–Lab Mix | 21 lbs   Meet Gabby, a sweet and loving 8-month-old Collie–Lab mix who is ready to find her forever family. Gabby has a gentle, affectionate nature and truly loves being close to her people. She’s happiest when she can see her person nearby and will gladly trade kisses and cuddles for a few belly rubs.   Gabby is wonderful with kids and does great with other dogs. She’s a friendly, easygoing girl who enjoys being part of the family and fits in nicely with the people and pups around her.   Like any young pup, Gabby has a playful side too. She loves toys (especially the noisy ones!) and will happily entertain herself, but she also loves interactive playtime and gets especially silly when she’s having fun with you. Her perfect day includes walks, treats, toys, and lots of quality time with her humans.   Gabby walks nicely on leash and stays calm when other dogs are nearby. She’s alert but not barky and very manageable. She knows her name, understands “no,” and can already “sit” and “shake.” She’s a smart girl who is eager to learn and will thrive with continued guidance and love.   She’s comfortable going in and out of a fenced patio door and will often choose to relax in her crate or cozy bed when she wants downtime. When left alone for about an hour she did get into a sheet, so she will do best with a little structure as she continues building confidence and routine.   Gabby’s foster describes her as obedient, gentle, and incredibly sweet. She loves to play, loves to cuddle, and is the kind of dog who bonds deeply with her family.   Gabby is truly a special girl who deserves a loving home where she can grow, play, and be someone’s loyal best friend.   LOLA'S Rescue    www.lolasrescue.com/donate Venmo: @LOLASRESCUECO PayPal: Info@lolasrescue.com Cashapp: $LolasRescue Apply online at www.lolasrescue.com/available-animals please note if you utilize an Iphone there are two scroll bars on the side of the screen to scroll down through available animals.   You can email Info@lolasrescue.com anytime with questions pertaining to animals in our care.  ##2661811##

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 2, 1M 1F, transferred from Stray Hearts Animal Shelter in NM. No information known about story before rescue. Came to CPR at approximately 3 months old. From the foster: Henry is a sweet pup whose heart is bigger than his ears! He is so good that he can’t be real. Manners, potty training, sleeping through the night… he seems too perfect for words! Henry is a smart, even keel guy who easily takes cues from you and your other dog’s examples. Humans are awesome, yes! Dogs are fun, yes! Kids are the greatest, yes! Cars rides are cool, yes! He is a wonderfully happy blank slate, eager and willing to learn. He walks well on leash with mild puppy interest in bunnies that you can guide him out of. In under 24hrs learned where he should potty. He has shown zero interest in sleeping on the couch or bed, preferring to lay on the floor beside you even when the other four-leggeds are up with their people. He loves trying out all the dog beds and kennels looking for his favorite at bedtime. He is a happy guy that enjoys playing with other dogs. He loves chase and is a gentle wrestler, so completely adorable watching him try to pin the bigger ones! Henry loves meeting new people and is wonderful with children that are overjoyed for puppies (6yr). He’s not a mouthy or bitey guy, and completely chill when picked up. He leads with his happy heart and tail wags! If his foster brother and sister are excited, he’s excited and can’t wait for the pets, snuggles, play and even the car rides to pick up pizza. AND discovered the whip cream on top of the milkshake in the cup holder… my milkshake. 🤣 Henry is content to rest in his crate & sleeps through the night in a pen in our room. He’s done well learning the stairs since not knowing them the first day. At bed, we went upstairs to setup his night time pen but when he didn’t follow, we went looking for him. Thinking we were off to bed, he put himself to bed in his foster brother’s kennel, snuggled into a pile of blankets and already half-asleep. He is truly such ‘a very good boy!’😴💤 Carrying him up and giving him a beefy munchie, he was wonderful all night long. Potty training is going well (has never had a #2 accident). He quickly picks up where he should go and does his business on a leash and turf. Henry is a quiet guy when the barking starts. He seems to really enjoy being outside and loves doing barrel rolls on tiny grass hills. He loves lounging outside and would love his walks to be longer so he can play in the grass. Real grass. Henry enjoys doggie chews and has shown zero resource guarding. He’ll eat when he’s hungry and is chill eating with other dogs and leaving his food if he’s done. He’s shown nearly no interest in chewing on anything he shouldn’t and if he briefly does, he wonderfully redirects on what you want him to chew on. Cow hooves were an instant favorite and he’s also a fan of Himalayan milk chews. Munchie sticks and twisted triple rawhide chews are great bedtime and kennel rewards. And the classic frozen peanut butter Kong is a good kennel time distraction. Henry will be a fantastic addition to an active family or for someone that wants a loyal companion for outdoor adventures! 🐾 He is a young guy willing and eager to be a part of your family. He is truly wonderful! Come bring him home 🩷🏠 www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
We heard a friend of a friend had a litter of puppies that they were trying to get rid of. We went to look at the litter and fell in love with one immediately. We took him home and were blown away by how smart he was. My wife had surgery a couple weeks before we got him and she was sleeping in our daughter’s old bedroom. I was having him sleep in bed with me and he would wake me up in the middle of the night when he needed to go out to do his business. I lost my job later and I was working from home. He got really attached to me and started getting protective of me. When my wife approached me he would attack her feet. It wasn’t bad when he was little but as he grew up it was worse. He is a very loving dog and has never been mean to anyone but my wife. We tried training and we took him to a behavioral vet. She prescribed him medication and he was doing fine. He loves kids and other dogs. He would be great for a farm or ranch. He needs to be active and not just walked around the block.
