Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ALMA-Boy was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Alma-Boy is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 21 November 2022 and at the time of transport weighed around 35 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. Alma is such a gentle and sweet boy, he is a little wary at first, but having been through all he has leaving his rescue in Oman and traveling to the US is a huge change. After just a few days, he has settled in great, he gets excited when I go over to the kennels, will now take treats, very gently, shares a kennel with two other dogs and does great. One of his kennel mates, CHIP a young cattle dog is really helping to bring him out of his shell, teaching him to play and having him curious in the toys and chews. He sleeps snuggled up with, I feel he gets a lot of comfort with Chips typical cattle dog confidence. ALMA is thin, although being the kind of breed, a sighthound mix, he will not need to gain much more weight, but a few extra pounds would have him at a healthy weight. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Alma-Boy is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $300. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. Story
Well hello there, Ash! This adorable 1 yr old Collie/Hound mix is a total sweetheart and mushier than a meatball! Ash is friendly and fun around humans and other dogs. He loves toys, but he loves living breathing creatures much more…especially in the form of playful pups. Ash is respectful around dogs of any age, even much older ones, and intuitively knows how to fit in. He’s just so happy to be in their company, and smart enough to get them to like him! Energetic and full of joy, Ash enjoys being able to fun freely and horse around outside. He’s currently learning the ins and outs of leash walking and getting better at it every single day. Yay, Ash! Ash has quickly learned the commands sit, down, stay and come. He is highly treat motivated and craves praise and approval. Who knows what amazing things this pupper will be able to accomplish! Ash travels with ease, he shares his toys, he loves to cuddle, and he even gives kisses. What can be better? Absolutely nothing! If you would like to adopt this wonderful dog, please email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application! www.pupstarzrescue.org Please Follow us on Instagram: @pupstarzrescue Like us on FaceBook! www.facebook.com/PupStarzRescue PupStarz rescue cannot guarantee the breed, size, temperament, or age of any dog.

Story
SUNRISE - 2.5 yrs, 40 lbs, collie/husky, spayed This dog is joining Social Tees on 9/6 and is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program starting that day. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed: INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy level MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.) Potty trained? Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs? Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds. Comfortable with children? (ALWAYS requires adult supervision) We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully. Okay in the city? We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs. Medical status Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees: Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though! This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc

ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     5m Old Stone is so friendly he loves everyone he meets.       All dogs are located in NY/NJ areaAll our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there)Twitter: zanisff Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bella (AL) is a female Collie mix estimated to be 18 months of age at time of rescue from AL in March 2023. She weighed 26 pounds at that time. Bella is good with people and other dogs, is up to date on core vaccines, has been spayed, and is microchipped. Bella is the perfect lady with beautiful black fur, no chewing, no excessive barking, just excessive snuggles and kisses. She is also intelligent and affectionate, and her favorite pastime is being hugged and petted. Bella would love a home where her people will spend lots of time loving on her. Bella would also love a fenced in backyard or a home with people who can take her on long walks throughout the day.  This beautiful girl likes her crate and will quietly hang out there when needed.  Bella is smart, well-behaved and such a love.  She's good with other dogs but would do best in a home with older children who can respect boundaries. Bella is a great dog who will be a wonderfully loving addition to her forever family. If you would like Bella to be the addition to your family, please apply online to adopt Bella (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. *********************RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 8, 2024, 2:31 am
