Where are our heeler loving folks??? This sweet boy is Bandit and he is a heeler through and through.Bandit was trapped as a stray and never claimed by an owner. He is estimated to be about 9 months old and he is full of energy! Bandit can - and will if given the chance - play fetch from sun up to sun down. He gets along with other dogs but he can be a ball hog and would need a doggy friend who understands that. Bandit can also be an attention hog, especially with whichever person he claims as his main.Bandit smiles when he is happy and it is the cutest thing! Bandit has a lot to say about a lot of things and he will bark to let you know what his opinion is in the matter at hand! So he is best suited for a home out in the country - which is where every heeler dreams to live anyway! Bandit has tried to gently herd the kids in his foster home and he could probably be trained to be a proper farm heeler. Bandit is not aggressive and has not exhibited food guarding. He still struggles with going to his kennel - he knows that there are more adventures waiting out there and more balls to catch and he does not want to get crated. Because Bandit does not love the crate his fosters have not been crating him at night. He has done very well sleeping in his bed without any accidents. Bandit is fully house trained but he will occasionally piddle when when he gets nervous. Bandit has been very good about not chewing anything in the house that does not belong to him. He only chews his balls and his toys when nobody is available to - you guessed it - play fetch!Bandit barks when a stranger first enters the house but he warms up very quickly (same with new dogs). He walks on the leash well but it takes him a bit to adjust to your speed. He would make a great running buddy. Bandit has not been cat tested.If you are looking for an active playful buddy and if you are familiar with the needs (and rewards) of heelers, apply to meet Bandit at ricopetrecovery.org. Teddy is a sweet boy who would do well with an active family. He loves car rides, loves being with his people while he chews on his toys and plays tug of war. He responds very well to training and would thrive in an experienced home where he could be praised for his brains and his beauty. He is 3 years old and we're working on his manners. Sometimes he jumps in excitement or nips a hand when playing. These would be easily corrected with the right family and patience. He would be best placed with older kids, since he's very strong. His current foster fam is doing their best, but they're used to grumpy old seniors and he is full of life and energy and eager to please! He is about 50 lbs of pure joy. He loves to be in on the action, but he also knows when it's quiet time. He sleeps in his crate at night by choice(he'd prefer the bed) and is crated while we're away without protest. He would do best in a home without cats, as he has cattle dog in him and loves to chase small animals.

We had gotten Milo in late 2022. He was maybe around less than a year old. We’re looking for someone who has the time to actively spend with him. He’s super loving and doesn’t know personal space sometimes and gives some of the best kisses. He was a rescue, he was kept outside all season long by his previous owner. Initially when he got with us, he was skittish and very unfamiliar with being indoors. 4 years later he is house trained, shows a ton of love, and loves to be outside and run.

She can be goofy and silly one minute, but Hannah can also be relaxed. Hannah does enjoy her food and treats. However, if it’s something she values highly, she will resource guard. She doesn’t like pushy dogs and will let them know when they’re crossing the line with her. Hannah couldn’t care less about cats — she has no interest at all. She came to her foster not knowing any commands, so she’s in the process of learning. After all, she is still a puppy and that’s what they do!
