Story
Tucker is a, 90-pound, 5-year-old mixed breed with a truly unique coat. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people or settling into a new space, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his affectionate, goofy, and loving nature shines through. He adores attention and bonding time with his people. He loves being outdoors—sniffing, exploring—and is always up for playtime, especially if tennis balls are involved. When he’s not playing, you’ll often find him happily gazing out the window. He already has a solid foundation of training and knows basic commands such as sit, place, paw, and come. He’s been lovingly raised by his current owner since he was 6 months old and has known a home full of care, consistency, and affection. He is being rehomed due to resource guarding with food and toys toward another dog in the home. He would do best as the only pet, where he can fully relax and enjoy undivided attention. A calm household with a fenced yard and no young children is preferred.

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Dusty is 5 yrs  Dusty is a wonderful adult collie who is still in touch with her inner puppy. She tends to be active, but she eventually settles down. When meeting new people, she might jump at first, but then will accept being petted and, if she’s lucky, get her favorite thing, treats! Dusty’s still working on her social manners with other dogs. If a new dog friend reminds her of the rules, she takes the correction—especially if that friend is a confident, more dominant, take-charge type that shows her what’s what. She tends to get along best with male dogs. However, she will need to be fed separately from other dogs. Dusty is interested in cats and might chase them at times, but not to the point of annoying them. Her current foster mom says Dusty is ”genuinely a fun dog to be around.” She describes Dusty as having a “goofy, aloof personality” while still being willing to learn. Dusty has made many new dog friends while in foster care. What Dusty would love most is a home where she can go on adventures, enjoy lots of treats, and finally settle into her forever family. She can’t wait to be settled in her forever home!Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.January 16, 2026, 3:03 pm

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Bindi is 1 yrs old Bindi is as sweet as Valentine’s Day candy and oh so loving. She’s a happy girl, though Bindi hasn’t shown any interest in playing with toys just yet. Bindi’s greatest joy in life is being with her people. She is housebroken and doesn’t chew on things she shouldn’t. Bindi is also great with other dogs and doesn’t react to bunnies, squirrels or deer. She walks on a leash tolerably well but would benefit from some additional leash and obedience training. Because Bindi is high energy, her foster mom believes she would do best with older children. Like most collies, she barks to alert and “speak.” Bindi is patiently waiting for her forever Valentine, who she will lavish with love and attention.     Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.February 9, 2026, 7:37 pm

Story
FENCE NOT REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED DUE TO HER PLAYFULNES Meet Sandy: Sandy is a young, gentle girl who weighs about twenty-four pounds. She is still learning her house manners and will need a wee bit more support with potty training. She is also learning healthy boundaries when it comes to food. She shows some uncertainty in new situations and will sometimes choose to rest in her crate or hesitate before coming inside. With calm reassurance, she relaxes and becomes very sweet and snuggly. It appears she did not receive much early socialization, and she is learning at her own pace. Sandy has a soft nature and is making steady progress. She will do best in a home that understands she is still finding her confidence and is committed to helping her grow. Sandy will also do best with an active family or human willing to spend the necessary time to continue her studies on becoming an even more amazing Collie lady. At just 4 months old and in her formative puppy months, she will need someone dedicated to her upbringing. Being in a crate all day is not her jam. Cats are a-ok with Sandy. Another canine companion would be fun for her but they would need to match her level of play. With time, patience, and gentle guidance, she will continue to blossom. Are you the one who will be Sandy's hero? If Sandy strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Sandy is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Sandy is being fostered in Southeast PA If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. A year ago I was found in a box with no mom in sight and sent to a Texas shelter. Speak for the Unspoken broke me out of doggy jail and brought me to Ohio. My short young life had been extremely hard so when I arrived at my foster home I was terrified of everything and almost completely shut down. Over time and with lots of patience my foster family gained my trust and showed me that life isn’t so scary. My furry foster siblings also gave me confidence to be brave and explore. My foster Mom is extremely proud of all the progress I’ve made over the last year. She says I’m ready to find my forever family to keep building the confidence and trust I need to fulfill my full potential. So let me tell you all about me! Today I am a happy bouncy dog that LOVES to play. Toys are the best. I enjoy tugging on a rope, chasing balls, destroying any stuffy in site, oh…..and my new favorite trying to catch a frisbee. Being chased by my foster siblings with a toy in my mouth is always a bonus. Playing “keep away” is fun. After playing I enjoy curling up on a soft pillow or couch to rest. I also love sleeping next to someone in bed at night. That way I know I’m not alone. If you need an assistant in the kitchen I’m here to help. Picking up dropped food is my specialty . I especially like carrots and cheese. It’s a good way to build my trust. My forever family will need to have patience and an understanding that it will take time for me to trust. Another dog with my energy level in the home is best to help me navigate my new situation. Plus, I really don’t care for cats and am very focused on catching small animals. So a dog only home is required. New situations are still scary for me. So a fence is a must, to keep me safe.I promise if you have the time and patience I will show you the bouncy, happy, silly and loyal boy that I truly am. I am neutered and up to date on all my vaccinations.
