To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Bello is 6 yrs old and new to the rescue.  Looking to double your joy? Meet Bello and Jacoby, an instant collie family! This bonded pair will be adopted together, and once you meet them, you’ll see why. Both are incredibly sweet, with Jacoby helping her shy best friend Bello feel more confident and happy. Bello, a handsome tri-color, prefers to take it all in from a cozy safe spot. He doesn’t need to be crated and has wonderful house manners. While he may be shy, he still wants to be near his people, just on his own terms. At night, he’s perfectly content snoozing beside the bed. Bello thrives on routine. His dream forever home is a quiet household—whether that’s one person or a whole family—where someone is often home. He gets along well with other dogs, but has not been around cats. He is a gentleman outside, whether wandering the yard or walking nicely on a leash. Bello did take a little time to adjust to his foster home and is startled by loud noises or quick movements, but he’s truly blossoming as he learns he’s safe and loved. Gentle and sweet-natured, Bello enjoys hugs and a good petting session. Jacoby, a beautiful smooth-coated collie, is Bello’s security blanket and confidence booster. She’s more outgoing, friendly, playful and also curious. In a fenced yard, she’ll happily bark at any deer or squirrels to let them know she’s got her eye on them. She does especially well with a routine for going outside. Whether inside or out, Jacoby is also interested in what is going on around her; she’s engaged and curious. She enjoys meeting new people, chewing on her Kong, and is very polite with both dogs and humans, but she is not fond of thunder. Coming from a more suburban home, she’s still getting adjusted to areas with more visible traffic, but the fosters feel she will get used to it. Jacoby is elegant, sweet, she also shares Bello’s appreciation for a good brushing. If your heart and home have room for two, Bello and Jacoby are ready to bring twice the love to their forever familyDont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.June 5, 2026, 8:38 am

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!KC is 5.5 yrs old Besides being a gorgeous lass, KC is the perfect dog for someone who wants to be loved, followed and cuddled. She is the definition of couch potato, unless her person leaves the room. Then she’s more than happy to follow them just to be close.    KC asked me to pass along her wishlist for her perfect forever home. She promises she won’t be much trouble at all because she has no need for long walks and really doesn’t care to be active. She’s not looking for her forever person to be her entertainment. She just wants to be loved and give love. KC asks for a quiet home without any children and definitely doesn’t want any dog siblings. If you like to read or watch tv, she will be right there with you basking in your presence. KC does seem to like the foster’s cat, but she tends to be a bit too exuberant for their kitty and hasn’t learned when she’s playing rough. So, KC might be fine in a home with a dog-savvy cat. She hopes her person or people will be home a lot, because she gets a bit anxious when left alone. She also says she doesn’t like to be startled by anything. KC wants you to know she doesn’t need to be crated. She also wants to share that she has room in her heart for more than one person and is more than happy to snuggle right between two people and soak up all the affection.    How much love can your heart hold? If you’re looking for companionship, KC would love to meet you.  She is unconditional love personified: a living world’s best stuffie with that beautiful coat to pet and hug. Story
FENCE REQUIRED Zane came into the world with dust on the wind and a restless spark in his bones, the kind of spirit that always sees the good in life. At nine months, he is all legs and motion, a tri-colored rough Collie with a coat that caught the light like the wide-open plains at sunrise. There is a little mischief in him, sure enough—something a little wild and untested—but that’s the way of young things meant for bigger horizons. He rides close to his people, not by saddle but by instinct, keeping watch with bright eyes and a heart that knew loyalty before it knew caution. When the trail bends long and the day wears thin, Zane is there, trotting ahead as if the land itself had whispered directions only he could hear. And when night settles in, he stays near, a quiet presence wrapped in fur and warmth, as steady as a campfire glow. Folks might say he is a little zany, and they wouldn’t be wrong. But beneath that restless energy is something finer—a dog ready to grow into his place, ready to carve his mark alongside the ones he trusts. Out on the range, where the world stretches wide and unforgiving, there’s no room for anything but truth. And Zane, for all his youth and foolish bursts of energy, is as true as they come. He isn't finished yet, but you can see it in the way he stands against the horizon, ears high, eyes forward. He is going to be something worth remembering. This is one special boy! If Zane strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED JoJo is a beautiful, young gal of just 2 years old looking for a new beginning after losing her beloved owner. JoJo came in with her sister DeeDee and we have found they do not need to be adopted together. She loves to play with other dogs, but would need a bigger dog as her canine sibling due to her high energy and the bit of pushiness she possesses. If she does not have a sibling, she will need an adopter who is home more often. Being young and very active, she will require a family or human to match her energy. She absolutely loves to play and will make an excellent candidate for sports like agility, rally, etc. JoJo knows “leave it” like a pro but does need consistency with her obedience training and direction. She is very smart and wants to please her humans but sometimes that young brain has other ideas. Consistency will be key to her success. JoJo is gentle, affectionate, and full of love to give. She greets everyone with kind eyes and wagging tails, always eager for a kind word or a soft touch. While she will need a little patience and practice with their leash manners, her willingness to please shines through in everything she does. JoJo has so much heart and happiness to share. She is so ready to fill a home with warmth, loyalty and the quiet joy that only comes from being loved – and giving love back. If JoJo strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if JoJo is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application.
