Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Dusty is 5 yrs  Dusty is a wonderful adult collie who is still in touch with her inner puppy. She tends to be active, but she eventually settles down. When meeting new people, she might jump at first, but then will accept being petted and, if she’s lucky, get her favorite thing, treats! Dusty’s still working on her social manners with other dogs. If a new dog friend reminds her of the rules, she takes the correction—especially if that friend is a confident, more dominant, take-charge type that shows her what’s what. She tends to get along best with male dogs. However, she will need to be fed separately from other dogs. Dusty is interested in cats and might chase them at times, but not to the point of annoying them. Her current foster mom says Dusty is ”genuinely a fun dog to be around.” She describes Dusty as having a “goofy, aloof personality” while still being willing to learn. Dusty has made many new dog friends while in foster care. What Dusty would love most is a home where she can go on adventures, enjoy lots of treats, and finally settle into her forever family. She can’t wait to be settled in her forever home!Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.November 7, 2025, 2:50 pm

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application! Hello! My name is Myles, and I am looking for a forever home! I am only one year old, but I have already experienced a lot. My first year was as a stray, so I feel like I missed out on fun puppy time; therefore, I still have lots to learn. Luckily, my amazing foster family has welcomed me into their home and shown me what love and comfort feel like. When I arrived, I was greeted by their two family dogs. I was so happy to see them, and I really enjoy playing with them. We love to go outside, sniff around and explore together. I’ve also met their cat—what an interesting little creature! I admit, I get curious and might bark and chase a bit, but I’m learning to be respectful.   At first, all the new surroundings were a little overwhelming, but I’m getting more comfortable every day. My foster family is teaching me my commands, and I already know how to sit and lie down. Treats are my favorite, and I’ll sit at attention for one. I also have plenty of chew toys to keep me occupied. Sometimes I can be a bit cautious when new people visit, but I have a plan for that—my crate! It’s my safe spot. I like to hang out there, watch all the action from its kitchen location, and I even sleep 8-9 hours in it.    My foster family describes me as enthusiastic and lively. I am a young boy after all! They are very patient with me and have given me reassurance in new situations. This is slowly building my confidence. It may be best if I found a home with a fenced-in yard so I have some boundaries. Another dog in the home would be an added bonus. I hope you will consider adopting me. After all, I am a handsome, happy boy and quite a catch!  Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.December 3, 2025, 7:25 pm

To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!needs physical fence   Do you want to be covered in kisses? Then you just might be the perfect match for Marley, a lovable 7-year-old sable collie! Due to unfortunate circumstances, Marley’s previous owner had to find him a new home, but Marley is slowly adjusting to his foster family. He loves being around his people all the time and doesn’t want to miss any chance to be near them. He follows his humans everywhere, even sleeping on the floor beside their bed at night to keep a gentle, watchful eye. Being an older dog, Marley already knows commands like sit, down, stay and come—and he’s always eager to learn more, especially if snacks are involved, since he’s motivated by both food and treats. Marley loves the outdoors and enjoys sniffing around and exploring. He will come when called and finds comfort in his foster home. When meeting other dogs, Marley is a little tentative and curious at first, but once he warms up, he is playful and enjoys their company. He especially enjoys running along the backyard fence, barking and playing with the neighbor’s dog. And bonus, he gets along great with cats too! Sweet, affectionate, and always ready to surprise you with a few unexpected kisses, Marley is sure to make a wonderful companion for someone lucky enough to call him family.  Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.November 10, 2025, 6:47 pm

Story
FENCE NOT REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED DUE TO HER PLAYFULNES Meet Sandy: Sandy is a young, gentle girl who weighs about twenty-four pounds. She is still learning her house manners and will need a wee bit more support with potty training. She is also learning healthy boundaries when it comes to food. She shows some uncertainty in new situations and will sometimes choose to rest in her crate or hesitate before coming inside. With calm reassurance, she relaxes and becomes very sweet and snuggly. It appears she did not receive much early socialization, and she is learning at her own pace. Sandy has a soft nature and is making steady progress. She will do best in a home that understands she is still finding her confidence and is committed to helping her grow. Sandy will also do best with an active family or human willing to spend the necessary time to continue her studies on becoming an even more amazing Collie lady. At just 4 months old and in her formative puppy months, she will need someone dedicated to her upbringing. Being in a crate all day is not her jam. Cats are a-ok with Sandy. Another canine companion would be fun for her but they would need to match her level of play. With time, patience, and gentle guidance, she will continue to blossom. Are you the one who will be Sandy's hero? If Sandy strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Sandy is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Sandy is being fostered in Southeast PA If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED JoJo is a beautiful, young gal of just 2 years old looking for a new beginning after losing her beloved owner. JoJo came in with her sister DeeDee and we have found they do not need to be adopted together. She loves to play with other dogs, but would need a bigger dog as her canine sibling due to her high energy and the bit of pushiness she possesses. If she does not have a sibling, she will need an adopter who is home more often. Being young and very active, she will require a family or human to match her energy. She absolutely loves to play and will make an excellent candidate for sports like agility, rally, etc. JoJo knows “leave it” like a pro but does need consistency with her obedience training and direction. She is very smart and wants to please her humans but sometimes that young brain has other ideas. Consistency will be key to her success. JoJo is gentle, affectionate, and full of love to give. She greets everyone with kind eyes and wagging tails, always eager for a kind word or a soft touch. While she will need a little patience and practice with their leash manners, her willingness to please shines through in everything she does. JoJo has so much heart and happiness to share. She is so ready to fill a home with warmth, loyalty and the quiet joy that only comes from being loved – and giving love back. If JoJo strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Meet Daphne, a one-year-old tri-colored smooth Collie with the grace and beauty of true royalty. Though her young life has been spent outside in a fenced yard, Daphne’s gentle heart and noble spirit shine through. She is a princess waiting for her castle, a Cinderella ready to step into her happily ever after. Daphne longs for a family who will cherish her, guide her, and show her the warmth of life inside a home. She deserves soft beds instead of cold ground, kind hands instead of loneliness, and a loving kingdom where she will always belong. Daphne will need a patient adopter willing to give her the guidance she needs to find the true Collie spirit that we know is inside of her. A confident canine sibling would be ideal. She is currently under the expert guidance of one of our most experienced puppy foster mom who is also taking her to training.
