Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED If you’re looking for a 3-year old dog with personality, Hunter has plenty of it! This handsome boy is full of enthusiasm and approaches life with excitement and energy. Whether he’s playing, exploring, or simply telling you what’s on his mind, Hunter always keeps things interesting. Hunter is housebroken and has already learned the command “sit.” He’s currently working on “shake” and would thrive with continued training and structure. Like many young, energetic dogs, he could benefit from obedience classes to help him become the very best version of himself. Hunter gets along well with other dogs, especially those closer to his own size. Because of his play style and enthusiasm, he would do best in a home without small dogs. One thing Hunter feels very strongly about: cats are not his friends, so a cat-free home is a must! Due to his energy level and excitement, we do not recommend placement with young children. Hunter is continuing to improve his leash manners and will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to invest a little time in training and channeling his energy in positive ways. Hunter is a fun, affectionate, and spirited dog who is ready to find a family that appreciates his big personality and zest for life. If you’re looking for an active companion and a loyal friend, Hunter may be the perfect match for you. If Hunter strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don’t wait! And if Hunter is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Hunter is being fostered in PA (Near York) If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you.

Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Marlo is a sweet, goofy boy with a larger-than-life personality and an endless supply of love to give. He thrives on attention, adores his toys, and is always ready for a game with anyone willing to join in—including the cats! If there’s a toy, a Kong, or an enrichment puzzle involved, Marlo is all in. This handsome guy is crate trained, house trained, walks nicely on leash, and enjoys spending time with his people. He’s been reported to do well with children and is happiest when he’s part of the action. Marlo is also known for his silly habit of squeezing himself under furniture and cots, flattening himself out as much as possible in search of the perfect hiding spot. Marlo would do best in a home with **female dogs only**. Potential adopters should know that Marlo is a bit of a “bull in a china shop.” He doesn’t always realize his own size, may help himself to anything left on the counter, and approaches life with enthusiasm rather than grace. Fortunately, his charming personality more than makes up for his occasional mischief. Marlo also has a few strong opinions. He absolutely despises being groomed and requires medication for grooming appointments, as he becomes extremely stressed and may scream, thrash, or attempt to bite. He is equally unimpressed by bad weather. Rain and snow are beneath him, and he will delay going outside for as long as possible when the forecast isn’t to his liking. Marlo is looking for a home that will appreciate his quirky personality, manage his grooming needs, and provide the love, structure, and understanding he deserves. In return, you’ll get a loyal, entertaining companion who will keep you smiling every day. If Marlo strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don’t wait! To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Bert is 8 mths old and new to our rescue. At just 8 months old, collie/sheltie mix Bert has a dazzling personality. When meeting anyone new, he happily wags his tail and then flops down hoping for belly rubs and pets. People smile at his request and he smiles back! His friendly nature extends to the canines he has met, and he enjoys making new friends during successful neighborhood walks on a leash.   Bert’s foster family just loves him, and the feeling is definitely mutual. In fact, he prefers his humans to be outside with him. He’ll pace nervously, eager to head back inside if he loses sight of them. Once he knows he is safe, Bert enjoys exploring the yard, chasing squirrels and rabbits. In his foster home, he prefers to be by his foster mom’s side, accepting regular snuggles and cuddles.    As a young dog, Bert is still learning his commands. Thankfully, he is highly motivated by treats and has already mastered “sit” and “off.” He’s also been introduced to toys and still needs to learn how to play. Continued training will help him build confidence and learn new skills, and he’s a quick-learner who is eager to please.   A real charmer, this boy will melt your heart. Bert will make an amazing addition to his new home and will truly be missed by his foster family! Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Meet Myles, a beautiful one-and-a-half-year-old male collie with a sweet, goofy side that really shines once he gets to know you. He can be a bit skittish at first and is fearful of new things and loud noises, but he’s easily distracted with treats and gentle pets. Myles loves being around his people, yet he’s also perfectly content spending time on his own with a favorite chew toy. He likes to sleep in his crate at night and will often choose it as his go-to spot for a daytime nap. While he prefers romping around in a yard over going for walks, he has good leash and car manners when needed. His routine is flexible and he isn’t opposed to sleeping in now and then. He plays well with other dogs and is only a little whiny around cats. Myles may get a bit vocal if he’s startled or feels he’s missing out on attention, but he’s still young and has already made great progress in building confidence with his foster. With a little time and reassurance, Myles has blossomed into a loving, fun companion who’s ready to find his perfect home. I hope you will consider adopting me. After all, I am a handsome, happy boy and quite a catch!  Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.July 16, 2026, 8:57 pm

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Jacoby is 5 yrs old and new to our rescue.  Looking to double your joy? Meet Bello and Jacoby, an instant collie family! This bonded pair will be adopted together, and once you meet them, you’ll see why. Both are incredibly sweet, with Jacoby helping her shy best friend Bello feel more confident and happy. Bello, a handsome tri-color, prefers to take it all in from a cozy safe spot. He doesn’t need to be crated and has wonderful house manners. While he may be shy, he still wants to be near his people, just on his own terms. At night, he’s perfectly content snoozing beside the bed. Bello thrives on routine. His dream forever home is a quiet household—whether that’s one person or a whole family—where someone is often home. He gets along well with other dogs, but has not been around cats. He is a gentleman outside, whether wandering the yard or walking nicely on a leash. Bello did take a little time to adjust to his foster home and is startled by loud noises or quick movements, but he’s truly blossoming as he learns he’s safe and loved. Gentle and sweet-natured, Bello enjoys hugs and a good petting session. Jacoby, a beautiful smooth-coated collie, is Bello’s security blanket and confidence booster. She’s more outgoing, friendly, playful and also curious. In a fenced yard, she’ll happily bark at any deer or squirrels to let them know she’s got her eye on them. She does especially well with a routine for going outside. Whether inside or out, Jacoby is also interested in what is going on around her; she’s engaged and curious. She enjoys meeting new people, chewing on her Kong, and is very polite with both dogs and humans, but she is not fond of thunder. Coming from a more suburban home, she’s still getting adjusted to areas with more visible traffic, but the fosters feel she will get used to it. Jacoby is elegant, sweet, she also shares Bello’s appreciation for a good brushing. If your heart and home have room for two, Bello and Jacoby are ready to bring twice the love to their forever familyDont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.July 16, 2026, 8:57 pm
