Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED (at least 5' high) Meet Tyler, a really big 1-year-old Sable Rough Collie boy with an even bigger heart of gold! This giant goober is sweet as can be and loves getting pets and scratches from his people. He’s also a playful puppy and is looking for an active forever family to adventure with for the rest of his life! Tyler’s favorite pastimes are running and playing. He’s great with other dogs, and we know that he’ll thrive in a family where he has a spirited dog sibling (or two!) to play with. (Older kids would be great, too!) He also needs to have a physical fence at his forever home to make sure that he can run to his heart’s content. Tyler has been working on his cat manners, but we think that his best forever home fit is feline-free. Tyler is completely house-trained, and while he isn’t crate-trained, he has wonderful indoor manners and does just fine sleeping on a dog bed at night. He’s working hard on his beginner obedience skills—and on learning what he is and isn’t supposed to chew on! Tyler already walks pretty well on leash already and is getting even better at it. He’s motivated by treats and toys, so we’re sure that with continued patience and practice—and with plenty of toys to keep him busy—he’ll be a proper Collie in no time. If you’re looking for a supersized Collie sweetheart, Tyler might be your perfect fit! Fill out an Adoption Application for him today! Tyler is being fostered in Indiana If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you

Story
Meet Zane, a 5-month-old Rough Collie puppy who is on the hunt for his forever home! This big boy is already up to 50 lbs., so we’re pretty sure that he’s going to be a giant goober when he’s all grown up! Zane already has big confidence, too; his foster mom told us that the first time he went to the feed store, he walked right in like he owned the place! Like most Collie puppies, Zane absolutely loves humans. He’s a confirmed snuggle puppy who loves to cuddle with his foster mom—and to sneak in some licks on her ear whenever he can! He also loves being brushed and is very patient with the process. And while he hasn’t met any kids yet, we think he’ll do great with them! Zane is a feisty fellow who loves to play with anyone who will give him attention! He loves playing with other dogs, and while he has a bit of a dominant streak, he’s been working hard on learning not to be so bossy. He’s done well around cats so far, showing a normal curiosity about them. Zane is eager to learn and highly treat-motivated, so he’s very trainable! He’s doing great with his house-training and can already sit on command. While he isn’t crate-trained, he does does just fine sleeping on a dog bed at night. Zane has great recall and knows to make frequent eye contact with his foster mom to be on the alert for a command or signal. While a physical fence at his forever home is preferred, his foster mom thinks that he would be fine without one as long as he’s properly boundary-trained. If you’re looking for a supersized, self-assured Collie puppy, Zane just might be the one for you! Fill out an Adoption Application for him today! Zane is being fostered in KY If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Story
Sophie is a Rough Collie-Great Pyrenees mix puppy who is almost too adorable for words! This baby floof is on track to be a very big girl when she grows up, so she’s looking for a forever family with a special place in their hearts for large- and/or giant-breed dogs. Sophie is the sweetest, silliest little girl who loves everyone and everything. To her, life is just one grand adventure after another, and all she needs is some companions to tag along with! Sophie absolutely adores humans and wants cuddles and kisses at every opportunity. Whether on the floor, by your side on the sofa, or in your arms, this puppy just loves love! She’s also great around kids and would love having some human siblings to play with. Sophie is very well-socialized and thrives in the company of other dogs, especially younger spirited ones who love to play as much as she does! She needs to be in a forever family with a dog sibling (or two!) to pal around with, and to continue learning from. Because she has a lot of energy (even by puppy standards) along with the famed Great Pyrenees tendency to roam and explore, a forever home with a physically fenced-in yard is an absolute must for her. While she hasn’t been cat-tested, she has a strong prey drive, so Sophie needs to be in a forever home without cats, toy-sized dogs, or other small animals. Sophie is a super smart girl who learns quickly! She has good recall, is eager to please, and is reliably house-trained for a puppy her age. She knows “sit” and is working on other basic commands, and she’s started learning leash-walking manners, too. Sophie is quite independent, as Great Pyrs are known to be, but she’s motivated by treats, toys, praise, and affection, so we think that with some more time and effort—and under the guidance of an experienced pup parent—she’ll be well-trained in no time! If you’ve been wanting to add a giant, goofy floof to your family, Sophie just might be the puppy of your dreams! Fill out an Adoption Application for Sophie is being fostered in GA If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Lance is 2 yrs old and currently undergoing heartworm treatment. Physical fence needed This 2 year old tri-colored Collie/Great Pyrenees mix is learning to live inside a warm home. He is housebroken, and his foster family has taught him his name and the commands “come,” “stay,” “sit” and “paw.” Living inside a home is new to him after living outside for most of his life. Due to this Lance tested positive for heartworm when he arrived at the rescue. He will need a little extra care as he undergos heartworm treatment (which will be covered in full by AHDRO). He'll need a family committed to following the vet's advice and providing the care and medication he will require till he recovers. His fosters describe him as adorably sweet and working on properly greeting guests and leash walking. Using treats as a motivation, Lance is making daily progress. Inside his foster home, Lance is playful, alert, and enjoys looking out the window. A physical fenced yard is required for Lance which he loves exploring and chasing squirrels. His inquisitive personality makes him very attentive to his surroundings and eager to learn new things. He will make a great addition to a loving home.Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.May 5, 2024, 8:12 am

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Lulu is 3 yrs old. Physical fenced yard required: Are you waiting for a Lulu in your life? Lulu is waiting for you! Hey there, potential forever family! I'm Lulu, a delightful Great Pyrenees & Collie mix (DNA verified) with a heart as warm as my fur. Let me share more about myself; when I arrived at AHDRO, I tested positive for heartworms. I have completed all my treatments and am now ready for my forever home. While I appreciate the company of humans, I would prefer to be the only four-legged friend in the house. While I'm still on the road to recovery, I'll enjoy low-key activities like short walks and leisurely strolls around the yard. I'm not looking for a marathon buddy right now, just caring companions to share quiet moments and build a lifelong bond. I'll follow you from room to room, ensuring you're never lonely. Soon I will be an active girl and would love walks, frisbee in the yard/park, or maybe hiking with you. My foster mom can vouch for my impeccable manners and the joy I bring to every moment.   Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.May 5, 2024, 8:12 am

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Kelly is a beautiful, playful 8 year old collie. She is definitely a “people” girl who loves affection and hugs. In her previous home she was the only dog and she would prefer to be in an only dog household. She has learned to get along with her submissive collie foster sibling but it did require training and supervision. She has, however, done well with the household cats. Kelly is attentive to all that is going on around her and happily watches from her bed. If you want a dog that prefers dog beds to people furniture, this is your girl. She is very smart and understands Sit, Stay and Shake. She prefers to play with toys with someone rather than playing by herself. If you press a squeaky toy she will take a turn making it squeak right back at you.   Kelly has a few quirks like we all do. She was born with a slight neurological issue which makes her spin. When she is excited she spins. But she can stop in a couple of minutes and then is fine and will follows directions well. She gets overly excited by cars driving by (barks and spins) so a quiet neighborhood or windows that she cannot see out of will keep her secure, mpre calm and happy. If she does see cars, she can be distracted by giving her some attention. Kelly thrives on routine, consistency and repetition and with them can quickly learn the rules and wishes of the humans in her world. She needs a patient loving person that will work with her in a kind way. She’s very affectionate and sweet and she will be your loyal frien The adoption fee for Kelly is $300.Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.May 5, 2024, 8:12 am
