Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Welcome Spice to DASH! Spice is a wonderfully sweet, adorable Collie Mix who came to DASH with 2 other puppies. She loves everyone she has met and greets them with her special brand of puppy enthusiasm, which is a mix of tail wagging and kisses for attention. She is currently in our DASH prison program where she is learning all of her basic commands, as well as crate training, potty training and walking on a leash and being socialized. She loves other dogs as much as she loves people and loves playing. She is a smart one, and is doing really well. Her new forever family will need to make sure to continue with her training so she can become the best companion she can be. She was around cats prior to entering the prison program and did not seem to bother them, but proper introductions would be best. She would make a great addition to a family or active person, as she is always up for some fun and adventure. Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Meet Myles, a beautiful one-and-a-half-year-old male collie with a sweet, goofy side that really shines once he gets to know you. He can be a bit skittish at first and is fearful of new things and loud noises, but he’s easily distracted with treats and gentle pets. Myles loves being around his people, yet he’s also perfectly content spending time on his own with a favorite chew toy. He likes to sleep in his crate at night and will often choose it as his go-to spot for a daytime nap. While he prefers romping around in a yard over going for walks, he has good leash and car manners when needed. His routine is flexible and he isn’t opposed to sleeping in now and then. He plays well with other dogs and is only a little whiny around cats. Myles may get a bit vocal if he’s startled or feels he’s missing out on attention, but he’s still young and has already made great progress in building confidence with his foster. With a little time and reassurance, Myles has blossomed into a loving, fun companion who’s ready to find his perfect home. I hope you will consider adopting me. After all, I am a handsome, happy boy and quite a catch!  Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.August 10, 2026, 8:43 pm

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Muppet is 1 yrs old Here is a Muppet to call your very own! Sweet Muppet loves to run, play and be kissed. He’s just a collie-shaped bundle of fun! He loves food and will entertain himself with toys for a bit. When Muppet goes outside, he will either explore and then bark to claim his territory or decide it’s time to play. Muppet is still learning to feel comfortable in his foster home, so he can sometimes be a little unsettled. New sounds can upset him, and being crated makes him agitated. When he is kept on a regular potty schedule, he does just fine, and his house training is almost complete. Muppet is just a happy, happy boy. He loves meeting people and other dogs and would very much like everyone he meets to play with him. Almost Home was told he doesn’t like cats, although his current foster can’t confirm this. When you meet Muppet, you will see how strikingly handsome he is. Pair that with his goofy, lovable personality, and he’s pretty hard to resist. In fact, his foster mom says she finds it hard to stop giving him kisses.   Muppet is happy, playful, handsome and full of love, but he’s waiting for a home to finally call his own.  Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.August 10, 2026, 8:43 pm

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Rex is 4 yrs old and new to our rescue. Did you know that dogs can smile? Rex is a gentle giant that always seems to have a grin on his face. He is a happy boy with a constantly wagging tail who wants nothing more than to please his people and be loved. Rex gets very excited when meeting new people and wants attention. His foster family is putting that enthusiasm to good use by teaching him commands. He already knows “sit,” “no” and “wait,” and he’s motivated to learn more, especially when treats are involved. Rex likes to be near his foster family, following his foster mom around and always keeping her in sight.    Rex is also a good watchdog. He’ll explore the outdoors and look around the yard for anything out of the ordinary before he comes back inside. He gets along great with the family dogs, although he doesn't really play with them yet and seems to prefer the company of humans. As for the family cat, Rex just smells it and walks away. Rex has settled nicely into his new surroundings, showing no anxiety or problematic behaviors. He’s a beautiful tricolored sweetie with a happy disposition and a big smile. Now he’s just looking for his forever home and someone who wants a great companion!  Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.August 10, 2026, 8:43 pm

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Cassie is about 1 1/2 - 2 yrs old. While Cassie’s striking beauty will catch your eye in her photos, it’s her personality that truly shines. Sweet, affectionate, and happiest near her people, she’s the definition of a “Velcro dog.” Whether she’s following her foster from room to room, relaxing on a nearby dog bed, or curling up beside a canine friend, Cassie simply loves being part of the family. Cassie thrives in the company of other dogs and would benefit from a playful canine companion. She has formed a wonderful bond with the Collie in her foster home, enjoying games both indoors and out, while also coexisting respectfully with a more independent dog. Cassie has adapted beautifully to each dog’s personality. Friendly and social, she greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail and has charmed many on public outings. She even shares her home with cats, who are still deciding what to make of her puppy enthusiasm. Cassie, however, is always gentle and eager to be their friend. Smart and eager to learn, Cassie is highly food-motivated and already knows “sit,” “paw” and “down,” while continuing to work on “leave it,” “stay” and “come.” She’s also improving her leash skills and clearly enjoys learning new things. Car rides are a favorite—she hops right in, rides calmly, and has no issues with motion sickness. She’s fully house-trained with no accidents and is respectful in the home… aside from one creative moment when a Lincoln Log looked like fair game! Because Cassie loves her people so much, she can be a bit vocal when left alone, but she settles with time. Her separation anxiety and crate training are works in progress, and she continues to improve each day. Having another dog in the home will help build her confidence. With her playful energy, she’ll do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely run and play. She may be too exuberant for very young children, but for an active family seeking a loyal, loving, and fun-loving companion, Cassie is ready to fill that role, and your heart, beautifully. She’ll love you with her whole heart, happily join you on every adventure, and always be eager to be by your side.Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.August 10, 2026, 8:43 pm

Story
Meet Costata! Costata found shelter life quite stressful, but she has been in foster care with a staff member where she has blossomed into a very happy girl! Costata is crate trained, potty trained, and has wonderful household manners. She currently lives with other dogs and cats, and gets along well with them! Costata is nervous with strangers but with some time and patience she does warm up to ladies. Costata is very fearful of men and will need a home without men or children. Though she is initially unsure of women, once she is comfortable she is an affectionate girl that wants to be your shadow. Her favorite activities are snuggling on the couch, playing fetch, and wrestling with her canine friends! Costata would do best with a confident dog at home to show her the ropes, but this is not a requirement. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Costata home. If you are interested in meeting Costata, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit.
