PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Meet Charlie! This tall, dark, and handsome young Rough Collie man came into rescue after his beloved human companion passed away. Charlie’s whole world has been turned upside down, and he’s understandably become a little needy as a result. We’re determined to find him a new family to shower him with love, care, and attention for the rest of his life. Charlie is a playful young pup with energy to burn! He absolutely loves being around canine and human companions. We know that he’ll absolutely thrive in a family where he has older kids and a spirited dog sibling (or two!) of a similar size to play with. Charlie has shown signs of a strong prey drive, so we think that he needs to be in a feline-free forever home. Charlie is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he can “sit” and “shake paw” on command. He’s highly motivated by praise and affection, so we’re sure that with a little time and effort, Charlie will be a perfectly proper Collie in no time! Like many Collies, Charlie loves to sing the song of his peoples, so we think he’ll do best in a single-family dwelling that doesn’t share walls with neighbors. He also has to have a physical fence at his forever home to make sure that he can get his energy out by running and playing in the yard. Could Charlie be the missing piece to your own family? Fill out an Adoption Application for him today Charlie is being fostered in Ohio f you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you

Story
Meet April, a petite 1-year-old Blue Merle Rough Collie with puppy energy for days! Her foster mom says that April is one of the sweetest pups she’s ever met—incredibly affectionate and smothering you in kisses in the very best way! April adores her people and wants to be near them at all times. She’s her foster mom’s darling little shadow! April is also amazing with kids and gladly accepts all of the attention that they offer her. She does love to chase them and can be a bit mouthy at times, but she’s very gentle and responds well to redirection. We know April would be thrilled to have some human siblings of her very own! April also loves being around other dogs, and playing with her puppy pals is a great way for her to get her energy out! She and her foster family’s resident dog enjoy running in circles together all around the house. We think April will do best in a forever family with a spirited dog sibling (or two!) to play with, and a yard with a physical fence so she’ll have plenty of room to run free! April is completely house- and crate-trained, and she sleeps soundly through the night without making a peep. Her leash walking is coming along nicely; she’ll definitely make a great walking buddy! April has great recall and already knows “sit” and “down.” We’re sure that she’ll pick up more commands and tricks in no time! If you’re looking to add a little Collie sweetheart to your pack, April just might be the girl for you! Fill out an Adoption Application for her today! Initially reserved and cautious around new people, he quickly warms up once comfortable. His foster family is helping him adjust to indoor life, teaching him commands like "go to bed" and "sit." Sassy enjoys playing with toys and observing household activities from a distance. He eagerly cuddles when the house settles down, showing his affectionate nature. Having lived with other dogs, Sassy is curious when meeting new ones and adapts based on their cues. He also gets along well with cats. Outside, he happily plays in the yard and tries to engage other dogs in games. Sassy recently experienced his first professional grooming session, where he behaved perfectly and loved the attention. He has adapted well to indoor living and enjoys the warmth and kindness of his foster family. He loves to follow his foster parents around and interact with their other collies. When his foster dad relaxes in his chair, Buddy enjoys sleeping next to him. Buddy has learned a few basic commands, such as “no” and “kennel.” He is used to being on a leash and doesn’t pull, but he will walk ahead at times. Buddy will need a physical fence and another dog sibling in his new home.   When Buddy met his foster collie brothers, he was calm and happy. Buddy also met a very young child and was perfectly gentle. He was around other dogs and cats in his prior home and was fine around them. He goes in the car for rides without reluctance and even lies down when riding. Calm, clever and curious. Physical fence needed This 2 year old tri-colored Collie/Great Pyrenees mix is learning to live inside a warm home. He is housebroken, and his foster family has taught him his name and the commands “come,” “stay,” “sit” and “paw.” Living inside a home is new to him after living outside for most of his life. Due to this Lance tested positive for heartworm when he arrived at the rescue. He will need a little extra care as he undergos heartworm treatment (which will be covered in full by AHDRO). He'll need a family committed to following the vet's advice and providing the care and medication he will require till he recovers. His fosters describe him as adorably sweet and working on properly greeting guests and leash walking. Using treats as a motivation, Lance is making daily progress. Inside his foster home, Lance is playful, alert, and enjoys looking out the window. A physical fenced yard is required for Lance which he loves exploring and chasing squirrels. His inquisitive personality makes him very attentive to his surroundings and eager to learn new things. He will make a great addition to a loving home.Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.April 15, 2024, 9:37 am

To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Lulu is 3 yrs old and currently undergoing heartworm treatment. Note: A physical fence is required for Lulu. Are you waiting for a Lulu in your life? Lulu is waiting for you! Lulu is 49 % Collie 43 % Great Pyr and  8% Super Mutt Hey there, potential forever family! I'm Lulu, a delightful collie mix (or maybe a scotch collie) with a heart as warm as my fur. Let me share more about myself, when I arrived at AHDRO I tested positive for heartworms. I have a heart full of love to give, but I need a little extra care as I undergo heartworm treatment (which will be covered in full by AHDRO). I'll need a family committed to following the vet's advice and providing the care and medication I require. With your love and support, I'm confident that I'll bounce back to full health in no time. I'm looking for a calm and serene environment where I can recover and thrive. An adult home would be perfect for me. While I appreciate the company of humans, I would prefer to be the only four-legged friend in the house. While I'm on the road to recovery, I'll enjoy low-key activities like short walks and leisurely strolls around the yard. I'm not looking for a marathon buddy right now, just caring companions to share quiet moments and build a lifelong bond. I'll follow you from room to room, ensuring you're never lonely. After I recover I will be an active girl and would love walks, frisbee in the yard/park, or maybe hiking with you. My foster mom can vouch for my impeccable manners and the joy I bring to every moment. the adoption fee for Lulu is $350 Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.April 15, 2024, 9:37 am
