Story
Meet Willow!Hi there! My name is Willow, and I'm a sweet and playful four-year-old dog. I absolutely love being around kids, and I'm known for being great with them. Although I can be a bit skittish around men when we first meet, I quickly warm up and become playful once I feel comfortable.I have excellent house manners, which means I know how to behave well inside. I never beg for food, and you won't hear me barking unnecessarily. At night, I love to sleep at the foot of my fosters's bed, keeping them company and providing them with warmth and comfort.Sometimes, when my foster leaves, I may scratch at the door. However, with a bit of training and adjustment, this behavior will improve over time. It could be a good idea to consider using a crate or kennel to help me feel secure and comfortable when I'm alone.Overall, I'm a really nice dog, and I would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving and loyal furry friend. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Tootsie was surrendered due to her owner's health. She was nervous at first being at the shelter, but came out of her shell after just a few days. Tootsie would thrive in a quieter home that will give her time to settle in. Once she feels comfortable, she loves body scratches. Her previous owner stated that she does not do well with livestock or chickens and that she will chase them, but has not harmed them. She has lived outdoors most of her life, but has done very well in her indoor kennels at the shelter and has been potty trained in her previous foster homes. She is not dog reactive but did not get along with another dog while in foster, so it is highly recommended that Tootsie be an only pet. She was the same with the cats, so she would be better in a home without cats. Tootsie is VERY distrusting of new men and boys and would do better in a home that did not have a lot of visitors. She walks very well on a leash. She does well in a crate, and does not potty while in her kennel. Tootsie is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

Story
Possum is smart & enthusiastic. Look how happy he is and well adjusted! His foster is doing a wonderful job of bringing his sweet personality out. We’re thinking maybe an agility dog in the making. Who knows, a hidden celebrity!!! He knows come, and quickly learned some agility stations. He went over a jump and a round jump with ease, and even went through a tunnel with no fear. He’s an agile boy, eager to please. He’s about 18 months old, still in the puppy stage, fully vetted, neutered and heart worm negative. He is a smaller dog, 32 lbs of devotion and new zest for life. His time at the shelter really had him scared but he’s back to his good ole self as you can see. He loves his 2 resident siblings, smaller male and female.
