Story
Holly was found just before Christmas 2024, alone in a large field near our home- and we decided to bring her home with us. She’s sweetest girl, and very active- and is definitely a puppy. She’s great with kids, loves to play hard with our other dogs- but just can’t seem to know when to leave well enough alone when cats and people are done playing. She’s pretty chatty when playing, and LOVES playing- so she talks a lot. She’s a very sweet cuddler, needs a lot of room to run, and walks great on a leash.

Story
Meet Willow!Hi there! My name is Willow, and I`m a sweet and playful four-year-old dog. I absolutely love being around kids, and I`m known for being great with them. Although I can be a bit skittish around men when we first meet, I quickly warm up and become playful once I feel comfortable.I have excellent house manners, which means I know how to behave well inside. I never beg for food, and you won`t hear me barking unnecessarily. At night, I love to sleep at the foot of my fosters`s bed, keeping them company and providing them with warmth and comfort.Sometimes, when my foster leaves, I may scratch at the door. However, with a bit of training and adjustment, this behavior will improve over time. It could be a good idea to consider using a crate or kennel to help me feel secure and comfortable when I`m alone.Overall, I`m a really nice dog, and I would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving and loyal furry friend. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

GRACE NEEDS A FOSTER TO HELP HER RECOVER FROM HEARTWORM TREATMENT-Grace is undergoing heartworm treatment on 5/19-5/20/25 and needs a quiet home to rest as she recovers from treatment. Recovery includes a calm environment, crating, and only leash walking to potting and back for 30 days with gradual increase in activity.  She is young and we do not expect any complications. She is such a sweet girl she deserves a break! If you can foster please email us at foster@dsda.org for more information or complete our foster application at www.dsda.org/foster. We of course would also consider a foster to adopt scenario which is ideal in a situation like this. She is spayed and all her vaccines are up to date. Please help us find a loving home for Grace. Grace is a stunning 1 year old 50 pound collie/lab mix (best guess!).  She is very well trained and would love a home with a fenced yard and an owner who will to take her on walks-though apartment living suits her well, too! Grace is super chill with a laid back temperament. She would be happiest in a home as an only dog so she has your undivided attention. She is a great cuddler and even masquerades as a couch potato at times. She would be ideal for an older couple, less active individual or special needs person who would enjoy a low key dog.   To meet Grace in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all jadults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2179383##

Story
Rad was abandon as a puppy about 3 months old. He was under nourished and full of fleas. We picked him and got him medical care by a licensed veterinarian. My son tried to work with him but Rad does best with women. We think he might of been handled harshly by a man. Rad is under a year old about 9 months. Rad is house trained. He lets me know when he wants to go out by going to the door or coming up to me until I figure out what he wants. Rad likes attention, very loving and being outside. He does have that puppy behavior of having to learn what is acceptable. He does dig but is teachable. He knows what kind of behavior will earn him a treat. He gets along with my dog but I have not seen his behavior around other dogs. Rad would do well with a big yard to play in and another dog to play with. He needs a gentle owner with lots of love and attention to give him. I can not afford to own two dogs. I hope you will prayerfully think about homing Rad. Sincerely, Hopeful

Story
I found Cota along with 3 other puppies on the side of a country road near Austin. Decided to keep him and find homes for the other 3. Sadly things have turned out a little differently in life and I have to work a lot more. So I’d rather him go to a home where he will have fun and not stay home all day long. He is quite independent, not a big cuddle dog, but he will lay down right next to you. He is a great listener and a herd dog, so he will protect the family. He is 1 year and 2/3 months old, I had him since he was about 3/4 months when I found him. Just want him to go to a loving caring household

Story
Meet Talya, a shy but incredibly affectionate 9-month-old girl who just needs a little time and love to reveal her true, gentle nature. Though she can be reserved at first, once Talya warms up, she becomes a sweet and loving companion who bonds deeply with her humans. Her true confidence shines when she’s around other dogs, and she absolutely thrives in their company. Playtime with her canine friends is where she feels happiest and most secure. Talya is already crate-trained and potty-trained, and she’s eager to show off her smarts—especially when there are treats involved! She quickly sits on command and is ready to learn more in the hands of a patient, loving family. While Talya does struggle with her confidence, especially when left alone, she has the potential to blossom with the right guidance and support. A home with at least one other dog would be ideal for her, as she takes great comfort in having a furry friend by her side to show her the ropes. With a patient, understanding family who can provide her with plenty of love, reassurance, and a calm environment, Talya will learn that the world isn’t so scary after all. Talya’s future is bright, and she’s looking for a family who can help her build her confidence and enjoy all the love, fun, and security life has to offer. She’s a gentle soul who needs a peaceful, nurturing environment where she can feel safe and supported as she continues to grow. Talya is currently located in a foster home in Texas and is waiting for her forever family to help her flourish.
