Story
Three-year-old Elliot is in love with life - fun, upbeat, happy, outgoing and friendly. Elliot was rescued from South Korea and now looking for his second chance and forever home with Greyhound Pets in Woodinville. He is on the higher energy side and will need an active home and adopters who like to exercise him. Elliot is eager to please and very smart, but needs a leader to continue his training on manners (which we too are working with him on). He is elegant and agile, and so fun to watch him romp and play! Elliot gets along well with the other greyhounds, but we’ve not had him with other dogs. With slow-intros we think he will be fine with doggie friends. Elliot who is 7olbs, will need a home without cats. We are not recommending Elliot with young children as he can get quite exuberant when playing and might unintentionally hurt a child. Elliot would do best in a home with a fenced yard rather than an apartment/condo/townhome. Elliot is neutered, micro-chipped and fully vaccinated. Email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com for an adoption application and to meet this amazing boy! You just have to meet delightful and darling Elliot!

Story
Animal Profile: Juno aka Juju is an estimated 2-3 year old 45 lb spayed female Texas mixed breed who came into the shelter with four puppies who have since been adopted. In temporary foster care she has been easy going and affectionate with people and good with all other dogs. She's doing great in the crate and pretty good on leash as well! We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update:  Juno has transitioned to her new foster so well! Her foster mom describes her as “ She’s just a delight to be around, such a sunny personality.” Juno is housebroken, does great in her crate and is really friendly with people and dogs. She is really intelligent and wants to please people so she will pick up on training quickly. She’s working on basic commands with her foster and learning her leash manners as well. Juno has a tendency to jump (she wants to be as close to her people as possible) and this will require a bit of ongoing training for her to learn to keep all 4 paws on the ground. She is great at following all the queues from the resident pup in her house and she’s really eager to play when he wants to. Juno is currently living with a cat and doing well so far, but she does have a strong prey drive so any future introductions to cats need to be slow and intentional. She likes toys and bouncing around and is an A+ cuddle bug too. Juno would be fine as an only dog with an active family looking for a playful pup, or with another dog to play with. She’s met young children and did great with them too! We will continue to update her profile as we get to know her more.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was being transferred from our partner Must Luv Mutts in Texas and arrived via K9 Transport on 6/22/24 to the Seattle area. This dog is fostered in the greater Seattle area. July 26, 2024, 1:04 pm

Story
Can a Collie get a break here?? Yes, we think I am a collie mix and what a handsome boy I am!! I did not look this handsome when I arrived at the rescue, but a DEDICATED foster took me in and nursed me back to health and (even though it will be hard for her), I am READY for my FUREVER HOME!!! I came from a plea at a local animal control facility- I had been attacked by three other dogs at the facility who broke into my kennel and mauled me pretty bad :( My foster mom saw the post and agreed to help, and HELP she DID!!! Even though not a medical foster, she learned ALL the things she had to do to help my body and my soul heal. My back end/sides were torn OPEN on each side, numerous bite marks and punctures and infection when she got me. I spent quite a bit of time at the rescue vet for debridement and treatment of the very serious infections and then she took me home and changed my dressings daily and then weekly and then no more dressings!! I am a very very sweet and cuddly boy. House/crate trained, great with other dogs and everyone I meet (except kitties- not a fan). I am a medium sized boy and I am ready for you!!! My ideal family will love and appreciate my survivor personality, my cuddly and happy temperament and will keep me safe from harm for as long as they are blessed to have me :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)
