A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay via Zelle, PayPal, or cash. Stunning Apple inside & out was ready to be euthanized in a scary shelter in CA. He had zero public interest & zero rescue interest on social media. An email notice went out for help to save this boys precious life as this beautiful boy was on that dreaded list. Yes, it appears at the age of 2 he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable. He was found as a stray on the harsh brutal streets of CA. That in itself is a miracle he survived. We rescued this beautiful boy & 1 other sweet baby doll out of that same kill shelter from that very same kill list all at once. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Apple who is now looking for his very own forever home who will never give up on him again & love him just as his foster mum & we do. After we got Apple out & rescued him, we bought him back to WA state from CA where he received all of his medical care & now he can’t wait to find his loving forever family. Will the sadness ever end for these dogs? Apple just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. Apple is a very soft gentle soul, & this boy screams a beautiful loving soul. He is by far one of the nicest, loyal dogs we have had the pleasure of knowing & having in our beloved rescue. Apple is so loving considering who knows what he has endured on the streets of CA. He loves everyone he meets & enjoys being cuddled to & given love. That being said, Apple is a good eater, he loves to eat & he is making up for lost time. He has put on more weight with us since being in the rescue & is still putting on weight. This boy loves big comfy blankets & beds to lay in. Apple enjoys receiving love, hugs & affection & just wants to be with you. We cannot express enough how amazing this boy is. Apple’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He will jump a short fence if you are not there with him just to come back & be with you. He loves people so much. Apple has started getting his baths with us & has been very good with them. He is also very tolerant of being brushed. Apple rides beautifully in the car & he will try to sit in the passengers seat next to you just to be with you. He enjoys a good journey, such a good boy in the car & still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. But we have been working with him & he listens & knows sit, stay & up to get into the car. We are looking for a forever home for Apple where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog or dogs in the home for him to thrive. Apple loves other dogs & needs another dog in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. We are also looking for a crate free home for the lovely chap only. He was left in a cage in the shelter until we rescued him. Apple is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Apple has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with playful dogs. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for his loving forever home. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Apple’s new forever home. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs in the home for him to thrive is what is required. Apple is roughly just over 2 years old & 73 lbs & perhaps a collie rough & German Shepard mix, but what he is mixed with we do not know for sure. He had a dental scale & polish along with dental x-rays. Apple is, microchipped, heart worm negative, given flea treatment, neutered, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Apple, with all of his medical care getting him well than his adoption fee comes close to covering with, paying his shelter fee to get him out of the shelter, shots, boarding him in CA to keep him alive, transport fees to bring him back to WA, dental/scale & polish, etc. Apple has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Apple was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Apple’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Apple potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Apple has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Apple & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Apple who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this beautiful soul. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Apple has an adoption fee of $895 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Story
Welcome Vixie. She is a 6-month-old Smooth Coated Collie and maybe lab. She should be 60 lbs full grown. She is shy but very very sweet. Her new home needs to be with a patient person and another dog to show her the ropes. She is moderately active and would be best in with a family not looking for a social butterfly dog. She is quiet at the rescue and very gentle when you work with her. She would be fine with children and we like them to be 8 or older. She may be ok going places outside the home after some work with her on her confidence. If you are more of a home body person looking for a home body companion then this pup would be a great fit. She is soft and cuddly when you touch her. She is moderate shedder and not over the top. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See her cute video!!

Story
Meet Mystic! This magical gal is a 2 year old border collie mix and she’s about 50 pounds. She’s completely house trained, and she’s incredibly sweet. She absolutely loves people, and she does well with most dogs. She does like to eat alone. She’d do best in a home with older children. She’d love a quiet forever home that can give her plenty of exercise and snuggles.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or $200 for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.June 5, 2023, 7:22 am

Story
Animal Profile: Benzie is a 3.5-year-old 53lb neutered male Collie Pitbull mix (best guess from previous owner) who is a happy social boy looking for a forever home. He loves to play with other dogs and is currently fostered in a home with a resident female dog. He is house and crate trained and has lived with older children as well. He was originally taken in by a good samaritan when his owner entered assisted living, but the individual worked two jobs outside the home and Benzie spent very long days alone; we took him in so he can find a suitable home. We will share more info about him as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Notes: I love this dog so much! He is an absolute pleasure to have in my home. He is so smart, affectionate and full of personality. He is very well behaved in the home, very laid back attitude, occassionally gets excited but calms down very quickly. He is crate trained and house trained. No bad habits. He loves to sit and chew on a toy or bone. He can be a rambunctious player so best to match him with a dog that likes this play style. He walks well on leash, occasionally pulls when he sees something he really wants and is generally non-reacitve to other dogs.  Adoption Info: Benzie's adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV, and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Benzie was taken in by a good samaritan when his owner went into hospice care, but this well-intentioned individual did not have any time to care for a young active dog while working two jobs. We took Benzie into rescue to find him a good long term match. He is currently being fostered in Seattle and is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.         June 5, 2023, 9:38 am

Story
Darling Duchess is almost 7mo old and barely weighs 25lbs. We expect her to be about 30-35lbs tops when she’s full grown. She is a very friendly, active, social puppy so she’d do best in a socially active home. Duchess loves other dogs of all sizes so another playful dog in the home would be best. She loves to play with the kitties, too! After she’s had her playtime and exercise for the day, she enjoys cuddling with her people. She would also like to curl up in your lap for afternoon naps. She is a great mix of active and easy going! She is crate trained and already house trained, although when settling in to a new home, she may gave a few potty accidents until she knows the new routine and layout if the house. Doggy door access would be a wonderful option! She loves to go on walks and explore do her foster mom is working on leash manners, and she’s doing great! She is a very smart girl and learns quickly so she’ll be walking perfectly on a leash in no time. She is a relatively quiet girl, just barking at the other animals when she wants them to give chase. She has a very sweet temperament, so she’d be a great family dog with kids over 6yrs old. Duchess does have a heart murmur and although the vet said there are no restrictions for her during exercise and playtime, we are still having a cardiologist examine her on June 6, just to make sure all is well. She must have a fenced yard and because of her age, she should not be left alone for more than 4-5hr intervals.
