Marge, she is the cutest goofiest 32 lb Tripaw!! Marge is about 5 months old, she was found with her doggie friend by their lonesome. Marge had a hurt leg when she was found, sadly we were not able to save her leg. Marge runs and plays, she doesn’t know she is special needs, a Tripaw, all she knows is she loves life and everyone in it. Marge has fully healed and is ready to meet you! She loves other dogs, whether it’s playing outside or snuggling for a snooze. She is wonderful with everyone she meets and adores children. She is a silly goofy girl who loves to smile, she is playful and gentle, cuddly and loving, she can’t wait to meet you and show you how amazing she is. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. Meet Ginny, a young adult (approx. 2 years old) spayed female Corgi mix, weighing about 45 lbs! Ginny is currently in TN and is expected to arrive in CT on 2/21. We are accepting applications on her now! Ginny is a sweet girl who loves her people, she will happily follow you around and is an excellent cuddler! She also loves car rides and would be thrilled to join you on adventures! While she does ok meeting other dogs, Ginny can be dog selective (she was surrendered by her previous owner due to not getting along with one of the other dogs in the home). She has done well with the other dogs in her TN foster home, however we feel that she would be happiest as an only dog. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. Ginny loves people and is a friendly girl but as a young herding breed, we recommend older kids 10+ (as she may try to herd small children). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. This beautiful dog came with the name Rubix, but we call her Ruby. She is a “Lowrider” mix…we think a Welsh Corgi mix. DOB 12/1/24; weighs 27#s. Ruby is a shy, sweet soul who absolutely adores people. She’s got a gentle heart, a love of belly rubs, and a soft spot for sweet affection and cuddles and… once she warms up, she’ll be your loyal shadow. Her dreamy, creamy fur, short legs and long body make her as cute as a button! She walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and is potty trained (and as a young dog small-breed, she needs to go outside frequently. How is she with other dogs you ask? She’s still learning to feel safe. She has done well with dogs her size, and plays energetically and respectfully. Bigger dogs who are respectful can win her over, but if they are too energetic or rough she becomes intimidated and runs to her human for protection. She does warm up quickly and loves to play. S'mores is a terrific dog who needs a specific, extremely dog savvy home. Yes, he's adorable but if you have never had a dog before or never worked w a dog with guarding issues before ...he is not for you. Corgis can be stubborn and difficult to begin with but this guy ..no idea where he came from. All we know he was tied to a pole by yankee stadium in 90 degree weather. When a volunteer went to get him he got aggressive. He didn't want to be touched in the foster home unless he initiated it, and he was a nightmare at the vet. He did bite. I dont blame him at all. This being said, now he loves attention. He rolls over for belly rubs at events and jumps up for attention. S'mores must have grown up with a lot of dogs because he loves dogs and he loves to play. Another dog ( meet required ) is a must. S'mores is 2 to 3 yrs old, 24 lbs As for his people, ADULT only. He needs a leader, someone who understands how to give a dog space and boundaries . You can't let him run the house or go on the sofa ( although they have cute sized dog sofas). He is a serious food guarder so put him in a separate room when he eats or crate. Just because S'mores has issues, it doesn't mean he is a bad dog. What it means is he needs a better listener!! People think "oh,if i show him a ton of love he will never bite me." No, he will think you are weak and bite you. Yes; he needs love, but you need to earn it. If you give S'mores space and time and take it slow..you will have the best dog, but you can't rush it. S'mores will run and play with his dog friends all day long, but he must have an old hip injury because after a lot of hard core play he needed crate rest for a day. You can't forget that he's still a little guy and other big dogs can jump on him and hurt him.
