Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Sparrow is a darling corgi with the softest soul and the sweetest little heart. As a breeder release, she came into foster care in January feeling unsure of the world—shy, withdrawn, and a bit afraid of people. But with time, patience, and the help of her foster corgi siblings, Sparrow has been quietly blossoming into the lovely companion she was always meant to be. She absolutely adores other dogs and fits in beautifully with dog-friendly pups, often taking her cues from them and gaining confidence along the way. A home with another friendly dog would be such a gift for her. Sparrow has discovered that the outdoors can be a pretty wonderful place and does great in a fenced yard where she can explore safely. Because she can be fearful of new things and may try to slip away when unsure, a secure fence is required for this little lady. True to her breed, Sparrow has a touch of that classic corgi sass and may let out a feisty bark here and there—but overall, she’s a quieter girl. She does have mild food guarding (very “corgi” of her), but it’s manageable and not over the top. One of the most special things about Sparrow? Her hidden love of being a lap dog. While she may not climb into your lap on her own just yet, if you gently scoop her up, she melts right in—nestling close and often drifting off to sleep. It’s truly the sweetest thing and a glimpse into the affectionate girl she’s becoming. She sleeps beautifully through the night, does well in her kennel when you’re away, and is very close to being fully potty trained on a schedule. She’s also learning leash skills and will need a properly fitted harness as she continues to build confidence out in the world. Sparrow is gentle, intelligent, and wonderfully even-tempered. She’s still a bit skittish with new people and overwhelming environments, so she’s looking for a calm, patient home that will give her the time and reassurance she needs to continue growing. Sparrow may have missed out on some of life’s early experiences, but she is catching up more every day—and it’s a beautiful thing to witness. With love and understanding, she is sure to blossom into the spunky, loving corgi she was always meant to be. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Moxie — 15 pounds of confidence, curiosity, and very tall ears. Seriously, her ears stand so high they may be picking up satellite signals. Moxie was found stranded in southern Minnesota and likely dumped, but you’d never know it from the way she’s learning to love life again. She can be a little shy when meeting new people—think of her as the “read the room first” type—but once she realizes she’s safe, she transforms into your tiny, loyal shadow and certified best friend. This little lady packs a big personality into a very small body. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, enjoys being part of the pack, and absolutely loves sleeping in bed with her humans. If you’re looking for a built-in nighttime snuggle buddy, Moxie is ready to clock in. A few things to know about our pint-sized queen: She’s about 85% potty trained (the other 15% is still under negotiation). She’s not a big fan of the kennel during the day—she prefers freedom and fairness. Because she can bark when you leave, a home without shared walls would be ideal. She arrived pretty scared, so we haven’t introduced a leash yet. For now, a secure fenced yard is the best setup for her. Moxie’s ideal home is one where she can feel safe, loved, and maybe a little spoiled (she feels strongly about the bed situation). In return, you’ll get a tiny dog with giant ears, a brave heart, and enough personality to fill the whole house. Small dog. Big ears. Even bigger Moxie.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination.
