Age: Approximately 7-8 years Weight: 36 pounds (over weight) Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Unknown (no kids under 12 years) Potty trained: TBD Crate trained: TBD Chess is an adorable Corgi who's ready to get a new start on life after being used as a breeder dog the first years of his life.  He's a shy boy with a big heart! He's great with other dogs and shy with people at first.  He has some food insecurity so needs to be fed in his crate (which he loves) and also needs someone to work on managing his weight loss.   Chess arrives in MN on 4/13/24 and we are looking for a foster to adopt home for him so he only needs to (hopefully) settle into one home - his forever home.  He will need a patient family who understands shy dogs and will help him learn to trust.  He will also need a securely fenced yard and another dog in his home to role model all the good dog behaviors for him.   Adoption Fee: $525  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.   ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Wellness check Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate) Age appropriate vaccines - rabies as required by law and distemper combo or proof of positive titer test Heartworm test if over 7 months of age Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites Microchip &#226&#128&#139 ~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care. &#226&#128&#139~ Adoption fees are non-negotiable and fees are listed on the dog's profile   ~ Adoption fees can be paid the following ways with the required sales tax added: PayPal Credit Card Cash WANT TO HELP SAVE MORE DOGS?   Healing Hearts Rescue is a nonprofit, foster-based rescue  located in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota  that  is 100% funded through adoption fees and donations .  We are excited for you to join us on this mission to save the lives of dogs in need.   We believe every dog deserves to be loved as true members of a family and are committed to fulfilling that dream one dog at a time! Story
Is anyone looking for a snuggler?  Because I am looking for someone to snuggle with!  My name is Jackie and I am 30lbs of doggo adorableness you will not be able to resist!  When my foster mom comes home from work, I am ready to go for walkies after spending all day in my kennel.  I know my legs are tiny but I need my exercise!  She says I’m a good girl on my walks and have very good leash manners.  When we come home I am all smiles and play with the kids.  I’m still figuring out how to play with dog toys though….maybe you can teach me?  Then we are off to bed and I gladly climb up with my foster mom for – you guessed it – more snuggle time! I am almost a pro at my potty training.  I mostly go outside and when I can’t make it, I use a potty pad.  Sometimes I get distracted with all the snuggling available and I forget!  I live with two other dogs – one big and one little – and I love them both.  And sometimes I visit the neighbor’s cats with my foster mom.  I like them too!  But I am not sure about men.  Do they seem weird to you?  I was not very sure about my foster dad, but he fed me treats so I’ve decided he’s worthy of my circle of trust.  Jackie is a good-natured, affectionate dog who would adapt well to almost any situation.  She is in an active household with children ages 4 – 13 and has a low prey drive.  This peanut is sure to get snapped up fast, don’t miss out!   ##2005001##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Good day!  My name is Lady Celia.  I’m a sweet corgi just waiting for my forever family to find me! You would never guess that I am a little bit of an older lady because I am such a loveable goofball!  My favorite things in the world are to be near my people so that I can get cuddles and pets and be able to watch what everyone is doing.  I love being around my people so much that I even need to sleep where I can see my humans.  I’m just such a lover!    Some more great things about me are that I am potty trained and I do my business on leash.  Foster mom says that I walk better on a leash than her two resident dogs do! Because I’m so good on leash I don’t need a fenced yard. I know what sit means – I am very smart! I’m great with the other dogs in my foster home and have learned so much from the other dogs. I do need another confident and social dog in my forever home as a companion. I don’t bark unless I am left alone or crated where I can’t see my people so shared walls are probably not a good idea for me. My perfect forever family will be home with me most of the time so I can give them lots of attention and love and they can spend lots of time falling in love with me. Ready for a sweet little lady – well look no further -here I am! Can’t wait to meet you! Love ya, Lady Celia *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.      ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
