Hi, I’m Brownie  I’m about 1 year old, and people say I might be a terrier/Corgi mix (I just say I’m 100% adorable). I have this really pretty ombré coat—mostly brown with a silvery undertone—and the softest brown-gold eyes you’ve ever seen. Yes, I know… I’m hard to resist. If I'm on a schedule I'm potty trained.  My Foster family is still learning what my ques are & they're also trying my skills at ringing a bell.  I already know how to “sit” and “leave it,” and I’m working hard on learning more—especially kennel training. I do best in my kennel when I can see my people or when I’m near other dogs. I like to feel included, you know? One of my FAVORITE games is hide-and-seek with treats. If you hide them, I will find them. I’m basically a tiny detective. Okay, full honesty time: I’m a bit of an athlete… I can jump baby gates (impressive, right?), so I’ll need a double gate if you want to keep me in one room. I’m also what they call an “escape artist,” which just means I’m very curious about the world. Because of that, I need to always be on a leash outside—and even in the car if I’m not kenneled, because I might try to make a surprise exit. I walk nicely on a leash, but loud, unfamiliar noises can make me nervous. I just need a little reassurance that everything’s okay. I love love LOVE my humans. Cuddles are my absolute favorite, and I just want to be close and make you happy. I do have a tiny habit of “borrowing” things like socks, shoes, undergarments, and kids’ toys… but I promise it’s because they smell like you, and I love you already. I may be a little shy when we first meet—you might have to come get me (I like to pretend it’s a game of “you can’t catch me,” but I promise I’m not very committed to winning 😅). Once you do, though? I melt. Soft pets, kind voices, and gentle patience are my absolute favorite things. I’m what they call a “gentle heart.” I don’t have a mean bone in my body—just a sensitive soul who wants to feel safe and loved. And once I do? Oh… I start to shine. ✨ I love other dogs—they help me feel brave and show me that everything’s going to be okay. Having a confident canine friend in my forever home would be like having my own emotional support buddy. Lots of noise and fast movement can feel overwhelming for me—but with patience, love, and time, I’m blossoming more every single day. 🌼 What I really need is someone who sees me—not just the shy beginnings, but the loving, loyal dog I’m becoming. Someone who will go at my pace, celebrate my little victories, and let me grow into the confident girl I’m meant to be. I promise, I’m worth the wait.
