Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Offa — a tiny Dachshund mix with a gentle soul and the sweetest little face. At around 3 years old and just 8 pounds, Offa is a quiet, sensitive boy who is learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. When Offa first meets new people, he can be a little shy and unsure, but with a little patience (and a few tasty treats!), his soft and loving personality begins to shine through. Once he feels comfortable, he enjoys companionship and gentle affection from the people he trusts most. Watching him slowly come out of his shell is incredibly rewarding. Offa is crate trained and does very well in his crate. He is still working on his house training and leash skills, so he’ll need a family willing to continue helping him build confidence and learn routines at his own pace. He responds wonderfully to kindness, patience, and positive reinforcement. This little guy has already been through quite a journey. When he came to us, he was covered in ticks and fleas and clearly had not been given the care he deserved. Thankfully, he received a full veterinary workup, and his bloodwork came back negative for any tick-borne illnesses. He also had a dental cleaning, so his teeth are now squeaky clean and healthy! Offa is looking for a calm, loving home where he can continue to blossom and finally experience the comfort and security every dog deserves. With a little time and understanding, this sweet boy will make a loyal and loving companion. Interested in becoming a forever home for Offa? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us.For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public in Oklahoma. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ/OR, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
From the very first moment I met Sissy Girl, the first thing that came to my mind was how friendly she is! She is the definition of a social butterfly and can easily be deemed your personal cheerleader who will always have you smiling and will always brighten your day. She is incredibly dog friendly, smart, petite, and will check off all your boxes! Watch her video and fall in love with her personality: https://youtu.be/O3y2OtrdK_Y?si=VZfIs2rw2oGeH7ab Sissy Girl is believed to be a Dachshund mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 39 lbs. With rescue dogs, it’s always a bit of a mystery and we can’t guarantee breed, but we’d confidently say she got the best of everything. The ears, the legs, the tail, and the happy personality to match. She’s the definition of fun-sized. So don’t let her pictures fool you. She’s a short gal and the perfect in-between size. Not too big, not too small… just right! It's a given this bundle of joy is absolutely adorable and such a happy gal, but she is so much more than that. She loves every person she meets, she knows no stranger! Connections with her are instantaneous. When people first meet her, they instantly comment on how adorable and friendly she is! The most common phrase used by everyone who meets her is something along the lines of how sweet and friendly she is. Sissy is such a go-with-the-flow type of girly who is happy regardless of where she is or who she is with. It's almost impossible not to immediately fall for her friendly and goofy personality. Sissy is very dog friendly and loves to make friends with other dogs. She has been around dogs with all different temperaments, from large dominant males to submissive quiet ladies and playful party pups. Sissy loves making new friends and has the best time romping around, playing chase, sharing toys, and also relaxing with her pals. Sissy would do great in a home with another dog that enjoys the company of other dogs, likes to engage in lighthearted games of chase, and wants a pal to explore with. Sissy even did great with a dog smaller than her and it was like prince charming had walked into the room. Watching her try to get him to love her was the cutest thing. You’ll see exactly what we are talking about in her video if you haven’t watched it already. It’s the best! Sissy also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat, and this was our first time seeing her with one. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! When it comes to training, Sissy loves treats and will do anything for a tasty snack! She already knows how to sit and does it on command, walks well on a leash, and is crate and potty trained too. She will be a great dog to take with you on walks at the park, or even potential trips to the beach. Her ideal home would have a backyard where she can zoom around, play with her toys, and sunbathe during those nice summer days. She also has the potential to thrive in an apartment or condo. She loves people and is a social butterfly, so if you're someone who likes to host or have friends over for backyard BBQs, Sissy will be right there in the midst of all the entertainment. I'm sure she will be one of the main talking points in all your conversations as well. Sissy has such a well-balanced personality. She’s happy, silly, adventurous, and cuddly all at once. She loves toys (especially stuffy toys), and is great at entertaining herself when needed. She would be a wonderful fit for a semi-active family, but she’s also calm enough to be a great companion for someone who works from home. She’s just as happy going on a mini adventure as she is relaxing by your side afterward. Sissy would also make a wonderful companion for a family with kids! She has been around kids and absolutely adores them. So get ready to hear those big belly laugh from your children because Sissy will have them laughing none stop. We are willing to test Sissy Girl with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Duke is the life of the party and the definition of a happy, playful puppy. This little guy has so much personality packed into his tiny body, and he uses every bit of it to make sure everyone around him is smiling. He’s always on the move, always ready to play, and always looking for his next bit of fun. Duke has that goofy, lovable energy that makes him impossible not to adore. He’ll bounce around with his siblings, zoom across the room, and then suddenly stop to look at you like, “Did you see that?!”—he’s truly a character. Watch his YouTube video now https://youtu.be/jooUMvEZY6I?si=F7fPQIw7m0ey7kSO And let’s talk about his true love in life: treats. Duke is completely, unapologetically obsessed. If you have snacks, you instantly become his favorite person. He’ll try his very best to impress you with his puppy charm, and honestly… it works every time. This also makes him incredibly eager to learn and easy to train as he grows. At just around three months old, Duke is still a baby with a big world ahead of him. He’s curious, friendly, and loves being part of the action. He enjoys being around people and would thrive in a home where he can get lots of attention, playtime, and, of course, the occasional treat. Duke is the kind of puppy who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and keep your heart full. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, happy companion, Duke is ready to be your best buddy. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69bd8a4ca30bd0bdeb0f604e Questions? Story
**Now fostered in Seattle, WA** Tuck – 9 Years Young | Dachshund Mix | Little Legs, Big Heart Tuck may be estimated at 9 years old, but don’t let the touch of gray and his love of snuggles fool you — this boy still has plenty of pep in his step! Tuck is happiest wherever you are. If that’s a cozy night at home, he’s curled up beside you. If it’s a Super Bowl party? He recently attended his very first one and proudly celebrated a Seahawks win. He’s equal parts cuddle bug and social companion. He’s currently fostered with other dogs and cats and does wonderfully with both. In fact, Tuck would truly love another dog in his forever home to be his buddy. He enjoys playing fetch, zooming around with his foster dog siblings, and taking his daily mile-long walk. That’s right — short legs and all! He loves to stop and sniff, but once he sees the other pups trotting ahead, he buckles down and keeps pace. His foster mom cannot say enough good things about him. Friends and family adore him for his polite, well-mannered personality. He is fully potty trained and crate trained… though if given the choice, he would much rather sleep snuggled up with his person. When Tuck first arrived in the Pacific Northwest, he experienced a little separation anxiety. With time, patience, and reassurance, he has settled in beautifully. While he’ll always prefer to be by your side, he now does just fine when left home alone. Tuck will need a single-family home (no apartments or townhomes). He takes his neighborhood watch duties seriously and can get excited about outside noises. He especially feels it’s important to alert everyone when his foster mom pulls into the driveway — very thoughtful of him, really. Beyond his playful and loyal nature, Tuck is also a sensitive, intuitive soul. After his foster family recently lost one of their cats, Tuck barely left his foster mom’s side. He knew she needed comfort, and he was right there for her. Tuck would be a wonderful match for: A first-time dog owner A semi-active couple or individual A family with older, respectful kids who match his chill vibe A home with another friendly dog If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will go on walks, play a little fetch, attend your gatherings, and then curl up beside you at the end of the day — Tuck is your guy. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Story
If your dream dog is less “nonstop chaos tornado energy” and more “tiny little shadow best friend that just wants to vibe beside you while looking ridiculously cute,” then Vinny Benny might honestly be your perfect match. This boy has the sweetest calm little presence about him that immediately makes people feel comfortable around him. Between the giant brown puppy dog eyes, the adorable low-rider body, and the way he quietly follows you around wanting nothing more than love and quality time, Vinny has this soft comforting energy that is SO easy to fall for. He’s not loud, demanding, or over-the-top dramatic. He’s just a really sweet mellow little dude that wants to be loved and included in everyday life. Honestly, he feels like the type of dog that would become your emotional support sidekick without even trying LOL. Watch his video and fall in love with this cutie: https://youtu.be/F52LGnloitI?si=8SA-sjoRk9tz3zOH Vinny Benny is believed to be a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 25 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. What we CAN guarantee is that this little guy has mastered the art of looking at people with those giant soulful eyes like he’s known you his entire life. He is the PERFECT lap dog size too. Big enough to feel sturdy and substantial but still compact enough to scoop up for cuddles and couch snuggles. Vinny can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but honestly it takes all of about five minutes before his affectionate side starts coming out LOL. He’s not one of those dogs that instantly launches himself at strangers demanding attention right away. He likes a second to observe, process, and make sure everyone is cool first. But once he warms up? Oh he LOVES you. Like deeply devoted little shadow dog vibes. He becomes incredibly affectionate, wants to stay close to his people, and has this really gentle loving way about him that feels incredibly genuine and comforting. With other dogs, Vinny has been very easygoing and chill from everything we’ve observed so far. He’s friendly, respectful, and not bothered by other dogs at all, but he’s also not really the “hey, let’s play and wrestle” type either. He’s much more of a coexist, lounge nearby, and quietly hangout type of guy. Honestly, Vinny seems perfectly content just existing peacefully around other dogs while still preferring the company of his humans overall. If you already have another mellow easygoing dog in the home, we think he would fit in just fine. But if you don’t? Vinny would also be completely happy soaking up all the love and attention as your one-and-only little companion. Vinny also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. He did not chase Biggie, nor was he bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also seemed to be comfortable around him as well. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing him with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for Vinny to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Vinny is crate trained, potty trained, walks nicely on leash, and absolutely loves treats. Food is definitely one of the quicker ways to this little man’s heart LOL. The best part though? He takes treats SO gently and politely. He has really nice manners overall and just carries himself like a tiny little gentleman. He’s the type of dog that would be happiest in a calmer home environment where he can settle into a routine, spend quality time with his people, and enjoy all the cozy simple things in life. If you’ve been searching for that calm affectionate companion that just quietly makes life feel better by existing beside you, Vinny might honestly be your guy.
