#2 of the 6 Ice Cream Flavor Dogs Cookie Dough is a 3-year-old black and tan piebald dachshund and weighs 12 pounds, She and 5 other dachshunds, known as the Ice Cream Flavor dogs, were brought into Diamond Dachshund Rescue when her owner passed away. Cookie Dough is the sweetest velcro pup! She becomes very attached to her person and wants to stay close at all times. She is incredibly loving and happiest when she can see or snuggle with her human. Cooke Dough is cautious and prefers to be picked up only when she feels comfortable and is ready. She will let you know when she needs space, so patience and respect for her boundaries are important as she continues learning to trust. She will sit on your lap when you sit on the couch! She is an excellent sleeping companion-she settles in, stays beside you and sleeps peacefully throughout the night. Her foster home is patiently helping her understand that the crate is a safe place and never a punishment. She is making progress. Cookie Dough loves toys and chew bones. She will play with a toy for a while. She likes the other dogs in her foster home and wants to play when they go outside. She will wrestle and wants to chase around the yard. Cookie Dough is a loving, loyal sweetheart who will thrive with a patient family that understands her need for reassurance, closeness and time to feel safe. Bonded Sister of Finley Robert Hi there! We are Emory (Emme) & Finley! I am Emme and I am the big sister. I am 8 years old and weigh13 pounds. My brother Finley is 7 years old and he weighs 19 pounds. We are Blue Isabella Dachshunds, and we don’t know you but we love you already. We love everyone! My little brother and I were surrendered to DDRTX due to our previous family having too busy of a schedule. We do have diluted color alopecia due to the type of dachshund we are but we don’t let that slow us down one bit! We are extremely happy, love attention, are great with kids, and are potty trained. We are not intimidated by a house full of children…we may be just as loud as they are. The more humans, the more people to love on us! My brother and I love being around humans and we do good with other dogs as well. We spend our days lounging on the couch, begging for pets, playing with toys, and snuggling with each other or the closest human around. Layla is that teddy bear you wanted as a kid but never had. She is soft and very loveable. She also gives out love in spades. Layla has a healthy appetite as well as a trashy one, so make sure you keep that small trash can empty. The bonus if you do is, her kisses are the best and plentiful. If you have a ball, she’ll want it. Give it a toss to see her chase it and play. So joyful. She also enjoys walks, car rides, and all your attention. Layla gets along okay with most other dogs, at least the one smaller than her. She has seen a trainer for some prior issues, but those seem to be in the past. Meet Mochi Chip, an adorable little guy with a spunky personality! Mochi had a loving home, unfortunately due to conflicting schedules he was spending too much time in his crate. His owner recognized he deserved better and now he is looking for a family that can give him the love and attention he needs. Mochi is 1.5 years old and still very "puppy" like, as he's very active and VERY energetic. He does require a little extra attention and supervision, and plenty of enriching activities to keep him occupied. He absolutely loves toys and running around, so a safe yard for his zoomies is a must! The perfect adopter will need to understand Mochi's quirks, as many dachshunds he barks at strangers, he gets into the occasional shoe if it's within reach, and he is not fully housebroken just yet; adopter will need to invest some time and energy to continue working on potty training. Mochi does great in the crate and even goes in by himself at night. He enjoys car rides and his most favorite spot is next to you on the couch while you rub behind his ears. That is when he's the most calm and happy. Other than that he will follow you at every chance he gets! Mochi seems to do well with older, gentle kids and would love someone to play with. He is sort of a ladies' man so he seems to gravitate towards women and female dogs. Male dogs not so much, especially if they are bigger than him, that makes him feel threatened for some reason but applications from families with big dogs will be considered on a case by case basis. Mochi has been recently neutered, microchipped, and has received his shots, so he is ready to meet adopters. This sweet boy has a lot of potential, all he needs is love, patience, and understanding, and we know the right family will help him become the best version of himself!
