Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Bonded with Holly Bea - Bonded pairDouble Dapple Chip may be blind and mostly deaf, but with his absolutely precious “seeing eye” sister, Holly (also a double dapple) there to help him, he’s close to perfect!  these two are friendly, gentle, loving, kissy, and soak up the attention.  One would have a hard time realizing he’s vision impaired as he easily discovered his “space” and can go in and out the dog door just perfectly fine.  If you have a smaller yard, and a dog door, he’ll easily learn how to maneuver and Holly will help him (and you!) immensely. they are as loving as they are gorgeous!  Please consider offering these two a place in your home for the rest of their days so that they can live life with comfort, security, and lots of snuggles.  Chip is 13 years old. Chip and Holly are a bonded pair, thus they need to be adopted together!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog?  How about being a sponsor or making a donation.  Every one of our dachshunds receives excellent medical care along with day to day food, love and housing.  Being non-profit, we rely on generous individuals like yourselves to help save these fur babies.  You can do this specifically for one dog with the sponsor button on their webpage or a general donation on our “How To Help” page.  Easy and quick through Pay Pal or your debit/credit card.  You generosity is sincerely appreciated by all and is tax deductable.  Need other ideas?  You'll find tons of them on the How to Help tab.  All contributions are tax deductable.   Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!         July 26, 2024, 2:54 pm

Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Maya Butterscotch is a spunky, happy, friendly little dachshund basset mix.  She loves meeting new people and making new dog friends.  She even has a kitten foster sister that she will cuddle up with.  She loves playing fetch, tug-of-war, and chase.  She's a very good companion to watch tv with, play video games with, or to read a book with. Maya is a special needs little girl.  She was paralyzed from an accident when she was only a few months old.  But that doesn't stop her from running around, she just uses her front legs instead of all four!  She has even been known to race in local dachshund races! Maya will be getting an upgraded 4-wheel cart to help her get around.  She uses diapers and will need help expressing her bladder but she doesn't fuss about it and knows the routine. Maya is looking for a home that understands her special circumstances.  She loves to play and having a playmate would be wonderful, but she is also good at being a single dog.  She loves humans of all ages!  If you are looking for a sweet cuddle bug, put in your application today!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org     PLEASE NOTE:  Bella gained 8 pounds since she was adopted and came back to DDRTX.  The first 5 pictures are what she looked like in October 2023. So far she has lost some weight and has much more energy!   Bella is a 11-year-old Chiweenie with a sweet disposition and a huge heart. She has no problem with strangers, large or small breed dogs and even maintenance workers that are doing work, etc. Bella really is no problem as long as she in in her diaper (and suspenders to keep it on) indefinitely. She has been checked medically for diabetes, Cushing’s, kidney and bladder issues, and had extensive bloodwork… Medically, there is nothing wrong with her, but we can only assume that neurologically she does not understand how to hold her bowel movements because the first 5+ years of her life she lived in an apartment and never went out to potty. The diapers do not bother her and they do not impair her ability to get around easily.  If you are interested in an older, sweet girl…and don’t mind a few daily diaper changes… please consider adopting Miss Bella Hope!                 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Applesauce is a little 5 year old black and tan double dapple girl.  She is blind and deaf, which sometimes happens with double dapples.  She has Microphthalmia, where the eyes are abnormally small and sometimes only partially formed.  Her foster mom thinks that maybe she can see shadows, light and dark, but she doesn't actually "see".  She doesn't react to noises.  She does her hearing through vibrations.   Applesauce is getting to know her foster home and can make her way around without much trouble, even going to the door to go outside. She loves to be held and will sleep in your arms or beside you on the couch and bed.  Right now, she is letting the fosters other dogs know she is here and not to get too close, especially when she wants to sleep.  She's not mean but will give them a warning growl.  She probably has never learned how to play.     Applesauce has had all her vaccinations and is heartworm negative and has been spayed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
