Story
Just one spoonful of this Sopita, and you’ll be hooked! This little red Chihuahua is packed with love, sweetness, and surprises. She brought a litter of eight puppies to SNIPSA–all the ingredients for a tasty bowl! Sopita loves her puppies, but we know that she will quickly settle into your household. She is a social girl who loves to circle the room in search of the best lap (or the most pets)! This pup truly thrives around her people–her small size and quiet demeanor make her an easy friend to tote around. Sopita will be available for adoption in a few weeks once her puppies have weaned. At just a year and a half, she has a whole lifetime ahead of her to spend with you. Apply to meet Sopita today!

Story
I picked Lucy up,injured, on the side of the road. I took her to the vet, got her wounds taken care of, had her vaccinated, and checked for a microchip. She had none but does now. She's 7 years old, very healthy and is a snuggle bug. She's a little shy at first but will warm up to you with a few pets and a little love. She also likes to sleep in an enclosed crate, with the door open, I presume because dachshunds naturally like to burrow (she will dig in your yard too). She won't get on the furniture if you tell her no and she walks well on a leash. She deserves more attention and time than I can give her.

Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Meet Bella Hope! This 11-year-old chiweenie is a pint-sized bundle of joy with the biggest ears and eyes that melt your heart! We think when she gives us the “stare” she’s just trying to hypnotize us to give her extra treats! She has the softest, quirkiest quack of a bark! She loves to burrow under ALL the blankets and occasionally serenades us with the cutest little snores during her beauty sleep. Bella does wear a diaper held up by suspenders because, let’s face it, her little bohiney is just too petite! After several vet visits and extensive bloodwork for diabetes, Cushing’s, and even kidney and bladder issues, there is nothing medically wrong with her. We suspect her potty-training issues are more neurological due to the fact her first 5+ years of her life she lived in an apartment and never went out to potty. But fear not, the diapers are easy to change, come in a lot of fun colors, and don’t bother her one bit! She zips around like a champ! Please consider giving this precious little girl a home. She is very loving, cuddly, easy-going, and overall simply a joy to be around!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Daisy Ann is 7 years old and only 8 pounds.  Daisy Anne has proven that, while on the nervous side:    - a crate is her safe haven.     - her defensive mechanism is to bark or growl when nervous,. She has not been aggressive.    -  she is a HUNTER.  She wants to chase cats, squirrels, deer, etc.  Favorite word is "outside"     - she can easily jump on a 25 in high bed.AND run circles around the backyard     - may be a little food aggressive:  growls at other dogs when they approach her crate when eating.  Okay when I am giving all dogs treats     - still nervous when outside but is tolerating Home Depot     - do NOT recommend home with small children.  She has skinny chihuahua legs which could be easily damaged and their sounds and smells will likely confuse her.   On the up side:     - very affectionate to those that feed her.  Loves to cuddle.     - can be trained not to jump on furniture but everyone would need to be consistent     - only gentle pulling on the leash     - once used to other dogs, not bossy.  She will just step over or around them to get to her human.      - house trained!  Used pee pad when I forgot to take her out one time.      - Okay with thunderstorms while in a crate      - Can easily sleep through the night.  Goes into her crate around 8:30 pm and eaily can sleep until 8 am if human tired.      - Is okay with a dog stroller but needs to be in good harness and tethered in case she see cats or deer.   Daisy Ann will need someone patient and loving.  She is still learning how to trust.  Once she feels comfortable, she comes around.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Eddie Mulroney is the cutest little (8.6 lbs) guy!  He is about 3 years old and is a wire hair dachshund mix.  His hair is dark red and light red.  Eddie was in a shelter with bite wounds when Diamond Dachshund Rescue brought him into our rescue.  He spent a week at the vet clinic with wounds to his side, one that caused a hernia and broken rib.  He had surgery to correct the hernia and to close up his wounds.  He was also neutered.  Eddie has healed and recovered nicely.  Eddie loves to cuddle and will follow you around everywhere you go!  He sleeps on the bid bed and will curl up in his foster mom's or around one of the other dogs.  He likes other dogs but not sure about cats, there are none in his foster home.  He has been recovering and hasn't played much with the other dogs in his foster home.  He is slowly starting to run around and chase!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Rosie loves to play so another puppy or small dog would be great.  She also loves to cuddle in your lap.  She is sleeping in the big bed but could learn a kennel or bed beside your bed. Rosie loves her toys! She can squeak her toys all day!! She hasn’t yet torn one up! Rosie had to have her front left leg amputated.  It was too badly broken to save. She has recovered and is doing great! As soon as she came home after her surgery, she was so happy!  She must've been in such pain!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
