Story
#3 of 6 Ice Cream Flavor DogsCinnamon Bun is 3 years old and weighs 17 pounds. She is a very sweet and affectionate girl who loves being silly and playing with soft toys!  She only has two teeth but that doesn't stop her from gobbling up treats! There is now where she'd rather be than curled up next to you.  She does great with other dogs of different ages and sizes. She is good about going potty outside and is a pro at using stairs and ramps to get on furniture.  She does well in a crate when foster Mom leaves the house and enjoys sleeping under the covers in the big bed at night.  So far she is unsure about walking on a leash and is not a fan of the dog door.  Cinnamon Bun is 1 of 6 breeder situation dogs that we have named the Ice Cream Flavor Dogs.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Story
Princess Emerald is a 6-year-old sweet extra-long dachshund and weighs 15 pounds.  Her foster Mom can't leave her soft ears alone and she loves to be petted and scratched. She wants to be with her person and wants to please. She is very smart and has learned the foster homes routine very quickly. She can be timid with the unexpected and will quick movements can startle her. She gets long with the calm, older dog in her foster home.  She is house broken if you let her out and she has used potty pads inside the home.  She had a doggie door in her previous home. Her favorite spot is inside on a big soft bed on the floor near her family. She needs a ramp for her to get on the couch or bed but with her long back she is probably better on the floor.  She is crate trained and will come when you call her name.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Story
Meet Luca, an 8‑year‑old gentle soul looking for a peaceful place to call home. Luca is a quiet, easygoing boy who loves nothing more than roaming the yard, soaking up sunshine, and curling up on a soft dog bed with a blanket. He’s a little shy when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, he warms up and enjoys gentle pets and attention. If you want him to get really excited, pull out a Hawaiian roll. He loves those!!! He gives his foster kisses and gets all in her face. It's really cute! He takes treats with the softest, most polite little nibble, and while he prefers to keep to himself around other dogs, he coexists calmly and respectfully. Luca is also perfectly content relaxing in a kennel or settling into a cozy corner. Luca is searching for a relaxed, patient home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood. If you’re looking for a quiet companion who will blossom with time and tenderness, Luca may be your perfect match. Quote from the foster Mom "He is the lowest maintenance dog I've ever been around.  He is borderline chill cat"   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Story
Hi there! We are Emory (Emme) & Finley! I am Emme and I am the big sister. I am 8 years old and weigh 13 pounds. My brother Finley is 7 years old and weigh 19 pounds. We are Blue Isabella Dachshunds, and we don’t know you, but we love you already. We love everyone! My little brother and I were surrendered to DDRTX due to our previous family having too busy of a schedule. We do have diluted color alopecia due to the type of dachshund we are but we don’t let that slow us down one bit! We are extremely happy, love attention, are great with kids, and are potty trained. We are not intimidated by a house full of children…we may be just as loud as they are. The more humans, the more people to love on us! My brother and I love being around humans and we do good with other dogs as well. We spend our days lounging on the couch, begging for pets, playing with toys, and snuggling with each other or the closest human around. If you would like to know more about us or meet us, make sure to fill out an application! A Note From Our Foster Mom – If you are looking for a silly and happy pair who throw the biggest welcome party every time you get home…then Emme and Finley are for you! These 2 are the sweetest dogs and are so easy to fall in love with.  They experienced a lot of alone time with their previous family so it’s like they have it all built up and clobber you with love. They take a little time to adjust but I can guarantee a lot of laughs, smiles, and cuddles with these 2 sweet & rambunctious siblings.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Story
Hi there, I am Nutmeg. I have a speckled coat and am a 2-year-old female doxie mix. I was found as a stray and trusting humans is new to me. Now dogs, I am great with. I love other dogs! Oh and I am also potty trained…I know that is a big plus with humans! I am still very nervous around humans but I find myself wanting to be closer and closer to my foster mom when we hang out on the couch. I know how to use a doggy door now too and let me tell you, it may be one of my favorite things. I was scared at first but once I saw by foster siblings do it, I was brave and tried. I love chasing squirrels, sunbathing, and sitting on the patio steps and looking up at the stars. Once I started to get comfortable in my foster home I learned I love playing with toys! It’s not that I don’t like little kids but I think I would do better in a home without any. I know I would thrive in a home with other dog siblings, a quiet atmosphere, and a new forever mommy or daddy that would be willing to be very patient with me. My foster mom tells me to be patient and that the right forever home will come along and it will be like a match made just for me. I can’t wait for that day!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas.
