Story
Margot, Shiloh, and Olive may be tiny, but their personalities are already shining bright. These three precious babies came to us at just 5 weeks old—far too young to be without their mama—but they’ve proven to be little fighters with hearts full of love.Since coming into care, they’ve blossomed into happy, affectionate, and playful puppies who adore attention and snuggles just as much as they love to explore. Each of them has their own special charm, but all three share the same sweet nature, gentle spirits, and a deep appreciation for being safe and cared for. They are still very young and learning the world around them, so they will need families who are patient, committed, and ready to guide them as they grow. With proper love, training, and consistency, these babies will grow into wonderful, loyal companions.Margot, Shiloh, and Olive are looking for forever homes where they’ll be cherished, protected, and given the chance to live the full, happy lives they deserve. If you’re ready for puppy kisses, tiny paws, and a whole lot of love, one (or more!) of these sweet babies could be the perfect addition to your family. Story
Princess Emerald is new to our rescue and we are still learning about her.  She is a 6 year old, 15 pound red, long haired, sweet dachshund mix.  Her foster Mom says she can't stop playing with er adorable ears. She enjoys snuggling next to her human.  She is crate trained and walks well on leash.  She's very curious when I'm walking in the backyard.  She seems fine with my dogs and I haven't heard a bark yet. She is happiest when her person is home or only gone for a short while.  She is sleeping in the crate next to the big bed, she will whine is she needs to go out while in the crate.  She sleeps through the night in the crate but that took the first few nights after surgery.  She is mild mannered and has no problem taking her meds.  She travels wee in a car.  She hasn't had an accident in the house if taken out on a schedule. She recently was spayed, had a hernia repair and dental.  She is now ready for adoption.  If you are home a lot and have another dog in the home, she might be the one for you!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Story
Layla is that teddy bear you wanted as a kid but never had. She is soft and very loveable. She also gives out love in spades. Layla has a healthy appetite as well as a trashy one, so make sure you keep that small trash can empty. The bonus if you do is, her kisses are the best and plentiful. If you have a ball, she’ll want it. Give it a toss to see her chase it and play. So joyful. She also enjoys walks, car rides, and all your attention. Layla gets along okay with most other dogs, at least the one smaller than her. She has seen a trainer for some prior issues, but those seem to be in the past. Layla would prefer to be an only dog in a home that doesn't have alot of traffic such as unknown guests. If it’s just you looking for a pal, she’s the one. So, what are you waiting for? Fill out that paperwork and give Layla that furever home Layla is a mix.  She weighs 22 pounds and is 6 years old.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Story
Brin Joy is a sweet 7-year-old Dachshund who came to rescue through no fault of her own.  Brin Joy can be a bit shy at first but warms up quickly, she loves to snuggle up next to me under a blanket and even sleeps with her head on a pillow like a person. She is a very sweet girl who loves any and all affection. She does well with dogs of different sizes and energy levels. We have learned that Brin needs the comfort another dog in the home, especially when you are gone. She is a bit scared of the dog door, we are working on getting over that but she hasn’t had any accidents in the house. She loves squeaky toys. Her left ear seems to be permanently sticking straight up which is very cute.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Story
Meet Jimbo, an 8 year old, 14 pound dachshund mix with a heart of gold and the soul of a gentle old man.  Jimbo is ready to spend his golden years in a loving home where he can enjoy soft beds, warm laps and less affection. This sweet boy gets along well with small dogs and although he hasn't met any large dogs in his foster home yet, his foster mom suspects he'd take them in stride. Jimbo loves being petted and will nudge or paw your hand if you dare stop - he knows what he wants and what he wants if love. Jimbo has been doing well with potty training and lets you know when he needs to go out, although he hasn't mastered the dog door yet.  He's also wonderfully independent: he sleeps peacefully in his own bed at night and happily curls up in a dog bed while you watch TV. He's not fully confident on a leash just yet but he's more than happy to be carried and will rest his head sweetly on your shoulder.  With his little pep-in-his step trot, curious nature and gentle caution around new people, Jimbo is the perfect mix of brave explorer and wise old gentleman.  If you're looking for a mellow, affectionate companion who will make every day sweeter, Jimbo is your guy.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas.
