Story
Looking for a Calm and Loving Retirement Home! Meet our wonderful senior dog named Scooby! We are sadly looking for a new loving home for him due to us having to relocate. Despite his golden years, Scooby is full of love and still enjoys the simple pleasures in life. He is: Confident: He is a well-adjusted dog who is comfortable in his own skin. He is housebroken and loves to sleep on a warm bed. Adventurous: He enjoys going for shorter walks and seeing the great outdoors. Incredibly Loving: He adores cuddles, gentle pets, and being near their people. He does enjoy being around children. A Champion Sleeper: If you are looking for a relaxed companion who enjoys their naps, Scooby is the man for the job! Scooby is a dachshund and is up to date on all vaccines until June when his yearly shots come up. He is also neutered. Due to his age he does have a few benign tumors on his body and a heart murmur. If are looking for a low-key loyal companion look no further!

Story
Welcome to the Wonderful World of Rescue Dachshunds.  Look around and read their bios.  Find a few whose personality seems to fit well.  Consider one of our Well Seasoned Seniors who are truly wonderful and have so much to offer.  Need help finding the best fit?  We'll help with that too.  Please fill out an application and let’s get you all matched up with a loving new “furever’ companion and friend. You’ll find the application on the “Available Dogs” page.  NOTE:   Adoptions to Central/South Texas residents only    Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Meet Bella Hope! This 11-year-old chiweenie is a pint-sized bundle of joy with the biggest ears and eyes that melt your heart! We think when she gives us the “stare” she’s just trying to hypnotize us to give her extra treats! She has the softest, quirkiest quack of a bark! She loves to burrow under ALL the blankets and occasionally serenades us with the cutest little snores during her beauty sleep. Bella does wear a diaper held up by suspenders because, let’s face it, her little bohiney is just too petite! After several vet visits and extensive bloodwork for diabetes, Cushing’s, and even kidney and bladder issues , there is nothing medically wrong with her. We suspect her potty-training issues are more neurological due to the fact her first 5+ years of her life she lived in an apartment and never went out to potty. But fear not, the diapers are easy to change, come in a lot of fun colors, and don’t bother her one bit! She zips around like a champ! Please consider giving this precious little girl a home. She is very loving, cuddly, easy-going, and overall simply a joy to be around!                   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
