Story
Colby is super loving, energetic & has a very big goofy personality! He is chipped & house trained, Knows basic commands. very high energy, loves to cuddle/give kisses. Due to having a baby & financial reasons & living situation i can’t give him everything he needs. Ideal new home will be his forever home, i’d like to meet to make sure it’s a good match before making anything final. someone who has knowledge of training as he can be stubborn sometimes. He can get along with another dog sometimes but it will take multiple introductions with them.

Chip and Holly are a bonded pair, thus they need to be adopted together!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Maya is a special needs little girl.  She was paralyzed from an accident when she was only a few months old.  But that doesn't stop her from running around, she just uses her front legs instead of all four!  She has even been known to race in local dachshund races! Maya will be getting an upgraded 4-wheel cart to help her get around.  She uses diapers and will need help expressing her bladder but she doesn't fuss about it and knows the routine. Maya is looking for a home that understands her special circumstances.  She loves to play and having a playmate would be wonderful, but she is also good at being a single dog.  She loves humans of all ages!  If you are looking for a sweet cuddle bug, put in your application today!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org     PLEASE NOTE:  Bella gained 8 pounds since she was adopted and came back to DDRTX.  The first 5 pictures are what she looked like in October 2023. So far she has lost some weight and has much more energy!   Bella is a 11-year-old Chiweenie with a sweet disposition and a huge heart. She has no problem with strangers, large or small breed dogs and even maintenance workers that are doing work, etc. Bella really is no problem as long as she in in her diaper (and suspenders to keep it on) indefinitely. She has been checked medically for diabetes, Cushing’s, kidney and bladder issues, and had extensive bloodwork… Medically, there is nothing wrong with her, but we can only assume that neurologically she does not understand how to hold her bowel movements because the first 5+ years of her life she lived in an apartment and never went out to potty. The diapers do not bother her and they do not impair her ability to get around easily.  If you are interested in an older, sweet girl…and don’t mind a few daily diaper changes… please consider adopting Miss Bella Hope!                 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Applesauce is a little 5 year old black and tan double dapple girl.  She is blind and deaf, which sometimes happens with double dapples.  She has Microphthalmia, where the eyes are abnormally small and sometimes only partially formed.  Her foster mom thinks that maybe she can see shadows, light and dark, but she doesn't actually "see".  She doesn't react to noises.  She does her hearing through vibrations.   Applesauce is getting to know her foster home and can make her way around without much trouble, even going to the door to go outside. She loves to be held and will sleep in your arms or beside you on the couch and bed.  Right now, she is letting the fosters other dogs know she is here and not to get too close, especially when she wants to sleep.  She's not mean but will give them a warning growl.  She probably has never learned how to play.     Applesauce has had all her vaccinations and is heartworm negative and has been spayed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Hi my name is Cookee, and I'm the sweetest treat of a pup that you'll ever meet. People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. I am a Dachshund-Basset mix and medium sized about 30# full grown. Sitting on people's couches or laps is my favorite pastime as I get to snuggle close to the people I love, which is practically everyone! I LOVE OTHER DOGS TOO!! I definitely want a home with other dogs :) As I am a bit on the older side and lived on the streets until I was saved with my babies in my tummy. I have been living at my foster home and am ready for my forever HOME!! I will need a patient and loving family to give me a good life of exercise- LOL, playtime, treats, love, affection, and belonging. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Thelma is the other half of the dynamic duo, Thelma & Louise! She is very much bonded to her sister Louise & relies on her for comfort & security . Where you find one, you will find the other! Thelma quickly bonds with her humans & insists on daily cuddles & pets. Like her sister Louise, Thelma is approximately 12 years old, around 19lbs & a sweet princess. She is working on getting her girlish figure back. She is a dachshund/terrier mix that gets along well with other dogs & is curious about cats. She walks on a leash with the occasional reminder to enjoy the scenery along the way & not rush to the finish line. If you are looking for a furry shadow, Thelma is your gal. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Oy Chico! Chico is a sweet couch potato, who is bonded with his brother Jefe! They are cute, little senior dachshunds who are hoping to be adopted together! They are a package deal, consider it a 2-for-1 special! Both have good energy and cannot stop wiggling their butts constantly! We are purebred dachshunds, with slightly different colored patches but all dachshund ALL the time! We are your standard dachshund size and have the temperament that would be great as a binge watching buddy, gaming friend or even a professional nappers (seriously we're that good.) Chico does have a seizure disorder that is controlled well with phenobarbital. His seizures were only about 1 a week but no one wants to let it happen so the meds were started and work GREAT! Local adoption fee is $300 for both of us (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Zues came into our lives when he was just 3 weeks old! His mother unfortunately passed away and we got a phone call from a family member asking if we wanted a puppy! I didnt realize how small he was so I had to bottle feed him just so he would have a chance at survival! Sure enough he made it, watching him grow before my eyes had been an experience, he loves kids especially my one yr old! He was born Nov. 19, 2022! He is very energetic and loves playing fetch, he is house trained and kennel trained! He is such a loving and sweet dog who loves to be scratched and snuggled! He loves his dog bones and his walks and treats! He has never been sick or has had any serious injury! He is very healthy! We are moving due to financial issues and new place dosnt allow pets! 😥we’re sad to see him go but I want him to be adopt by a family or someone to love him and care for him as we did! Give our furry friend a new and loving home!🙏

Story
In a world where everyone is always in such a rush, I prefer to take my time and savor every moment. I believe slow and steady wins the race, and that's why I'm not one to rush into anything. But don't let my laid-back attitude fool you - once I get to know you, I can be the most loving and loyal companion you've ever met.One of my favorite things to do is go for walks that lead to new smells and adventures. It's like every step is a new opportunity to explore the world and discover something new. And if you really want to get my attention, just bring along some tasty treats. I can't resist a good snack!Believe it or not, I'm a lot smaller than you might think. But what I lack in size, I make up for in heart. And when it comes to riding in a car, I'm an absolute pro. I love feeling the wind in my fur and watching the world go by outside.Ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you what a good boy I am. I walk beautifully on a leash and always listen to the humans that I know and trust. I may be slow and steady, but I'm also reliable and trustworthy - a true friend for life. So why not take a chance on me and let me show you what a wonderful companion I can be?
