Story
Class is in session! We are thrilled to introduce the most “degreed” litter of puppies you’ll ever meet. These seven tiny scholars are 6-week-old “Chiweenie” mixes (Chihuahua and Dachshund) with a very special success story. Their journey began when their sweet mama, Flowrider, was rescued from Animal Care Services and entered into the SNIPSA program. Thanks to the dedication of her foster family, these pups never had to spend a day in a kennel; they were born and raised in a loving foster home, receiving around-the-clock “tutoring” in snuggles and socialization! Check out the syllabus below (What to Expect): Being a Chiweenie means these pups pack a big personality into a small, portable frame. Since they’re raised in a home environment with Mama Flowrider, they are off to a great head start! Having been born in a foster home, they are already accustomed to household noises and human interaction. Expect the adorable “hot dog” length of a Dachshund mixed with the spunky, alert nature of a Chihuahua. They are the perfect size for apartment living or houses with small yards, but they have enough energy for daily walks and play. Note from the Dean: While these pups have a great start in foster care, they are still “undergraduates.” They will need continued training in potty manners, leash walking, and “not-chewing-on-textbooks” 101. Ready to enroll? The Ivy League Mutts are looking for committed families who are ready for a lifetime of loyalty. Mama Flowrider did the hard work of raising them; now they just need a “campus” to call home! Apply to adopt today!

Story
Carmela is a beautiful dachshund mix. She has a chocolate coat. She is great with kids and people, but she does not play too well with other dogs. Specifically, she is very territorial when it comes to food and will sometimes become aggressive with other dogs. However, she is s sweetheart with us and our kids.

Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Meet Bella Hope! This 12-year-old chiweenie is a pint-sized bundle of joy with the biggest ears and eyes that melt your heart! We think when she gives us the “stare” she’s just trying to hypnotize us to give her extra treats! She has the softest, quirkiest quack of a bark! She loves to burrow under ALL the blankets and occasionally serenades us with the cutest little snores during her beauty sleep. Bella does wear a diaper held up by suspenders because, let’s face it, her little bohiney is just too petite! After several vet visits and extensive bloodwork for diabetes, Cushing’s, and even kidney and bladder issues, there is nothing medically wrong with her. We suspect her potty-training issues are more neurological due to the fact her first 5+ years of her life she lived in an apartment and never went out to potty. But fear not, the diapers are easy to change, come in a lot of fun colors, and don’t bother her one bit! She zips around like a champ! Please consider giving this precious little girl a home. She is very loving, cuddly, easy-going, and overall simply a joy to be around! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Hi my name is Jackson Bailey and I am looking for my forever home.  I am only 2 years old and only weigh 11 pounds.  I used to be shy and I am still a little, but my foster mom has taught me that living life to the fullest is a whole lot more fun. My foster family has taught me how to make friends with my foster siblings.  I learned how to play with and how to be a pet. Foster mom has taught me that sleeping all night in my own little bed in my own little kennel is very calming. That’s my private space and is especially nice. I don’t cry or whine, I go right to sleep. I even eat in my kennel and have learned to wait politely and I take snacks gently. I really need a home of my very own and maybe it would be really nice if I had a friend to play with. I really enjoy the special attention the humans f=give me and all they have taught me.   Can you be my forever family?  I do know how to give hand kisses and foster mom says I’m the most gentle, quiet, polite little man she’s ever had.   Jackson is approximately two years old and full of life. He weighs about 11 pounds. He loves being outside and he loves all of his brothers and sisters.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
