Story
Hello, My wife's mother needs care in Japan, and we're expecting a baby boy there too. Unfortunately, we can't bring Charlie, our Mini Pinscher, along for the journey. We adopted him from the pound when he was 4, and we've taken care of him for the past 3.5 years. Charlie needs a special family who can understand his needs. He's not great with strangers but is incredibly loving to those he trusts. Having a doggy door is a must for him, and he'll thrive in a home where he can feel safe and loved. He is healthy, is neutered, and has all his shots. It breaks our hearts to have to part with him, but we want to find him a loving family rather than surrender him to the pound. If you think you can provide Charlie with the care and attention he deserves, please get in touch at (925) 876-6125. We'd love to chat and see if you could be the perfect fit for our beloved Charlie.

Story
This is what Niner's foster had to say about him:"He is a super fast runner and top notch walker! He rode well in the car, very excited about looking out the window. At one point he flew around me in tight circles, just overcome with joy. We walked about 3 miles and he never got tired. He didn't seem to have much of a reaction to other dogs we saw, just a few barks, then eagerly back to the task at hand - walking! At first he didn't seem too interested in me, but after we got back to the car, he hopped into my lap for a long cuddle session. Niner would make an ideal companion for someone who already walks daily or is interested in having an enthusiastic exercise partner. Niner is a happy, well adjusted little guy who generated a lot of interest from other park visitors, eliciting smiles and comments about how cute he is. What a dear little guy!" Ryan, Neutered male, 1 Year 11 months, 29-Lbs. If you would like to give RYAN a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application About Ryan: Ryan is a good-looking young pup with calm temperament; he is docile and submissive by nature. He is very food motivated, so is easy to train. Despite his young age, Ryan is well behaved, with no barking or chewing issues; and he is crate trained to sleep overnight. His favorite pastime is hanging out with doggie pals in the park and the daily walks. Ryan is loyal to his master; he could be a little shy when introduced to strangers, but is easy-going and comfortable around familiar faces. He gets along well with dogs and cats. Ryan will be a great companion pet if he got chance to be your family member. Please watch his video to learn more about sweet Ryan. Ryan’s rescue story: Like other strays, puppy Ryan was under the feeding of volunteers for the first five months of his life, until one day he was injured by a car. Treatment for him in the hospital was successful and he soon resumed normal activities and stayed in the shelter until he was one year old. When he was finally put under the care of a foster family, Ryan was very timid and skittish, but showed great improvement in socializing in just a few months under the care of his foster family. Now he’s fully adapted to the busy streets in the city and can walk confidently when lead by a leash. Story
Juliette is a tiny little dog with a huge personality! Be ready to fall in love when you meet her! Her spunky personality is charming. Her big chocolaty eyes will melt you. You will smile as she struts though the house.  Juliette is min-pin/Chihuahua mix. She is 2-3 years old and weighs just 5.5 lbs. Juliette is good with other dogs and seems to truly enjoy their company. Homes with another little dog will be given priority. Juliette is good with men and women. Juliette is a fun little dog. She loves to cuddle under the covers at night. She is always nearby people or the other dogs in the home so unless there is another canine companion in the home, Juliette will not do well if home long hours alone  Juliette is learning to walk on leash. She enjoys running at the dog park and she rushes outdoors every morning and finds herself a nice sunny spot on the concrete. Juliette is very tiny and so is not a fit for a home with toddlers. She maybe tiny but she is active so she will need daily walks or dog park excursions. Juliette is house trained but at night does not want to go out to potty but she is also pad trained. Juliette is a wee bit vocal when there is noise in the outside the home but if not noises, she is quiet. This is something to consider if you are in an apartment.  Juliette is located in Redwood City. All meet-and-greets will be located in RWC.  Adopters must be located in the SF Bay Area.  Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for JULIETTE is $500. If you are interested in adopting JULIETTE please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. May 28, 2024, 1:25 pm

Story
*Great news, Dr. Seuss's adoption fee has been covered!* Our Dr. Seuss is named for one of the author's lesser known characters: the Leggy True Boo of MinPinAroo, a high-spirited imp with an infinite capacity for fun. In the book he's a gigantic blue marsupial. In real life, he's an itty bitty chocolate brown min-pin with red spots and splashes. He's a Guys! Guys! Guys! guy who bounces, skips, sambas and break dances through life, kissing, playing, and leaping into laps. He stops and rolls for tum rubs, snuggles and high fives. He takes walks and hikes, sometimes more than once a day. The technical term is "active senior. The reality is "peppy loverboy with puppy vibes and a taste for adventure". Adopt him and have it all! Here's some notes from his foster: We have had the pleasure of fostering Dr. Seuss or "Doc as we call him. Initially he was nervous but by the third day his cute little personality came out and began to shine! He loves to completely bury himself under blankets! He loves going for walks and enjoys playing with toys... for a few minutes anyway. What he really loves is cuddling with his person, basking in the sun and snuggling under soft blankets. He sleeps through the night and goes potty outside. He has definitely made himself at home and has settled comfortably into a routine. His favorite time of day...Mealtime! He gets so excited, jumping and barking...he can't contain himself. No picky eater here! He takes himself outside to our backyard to lounge in the sun...total sun worshipper. He does enjoy playing more with toys than he was previously and entertains us nightly! Doc enjoys meeting new people and will demand pets and belly rubs from all. He enjoys his walks and can hike for over 2 miles without breaking his stride. He does get overly excited when seeing other dogs walking...we try to distract him or if that doesn't work, we just scoop him up. It is a work in progress, but easily manageable. While he does enjoy being the one and only, he has recently positively interacted with our very large, but calm and submissive grand dog and did well as long as he was NOT on a leash. After meeting, we were able to walk them both together with no issues. He is very sweet and loving and was great with my grand daughter...could not get enough of her! Doc is a very happy and versatile boy. He would love to go hiking and on adventures and rides well in the car but is equally content snuggling on the couch. While he would never choose to be without his person, he is fine at home on his own. He has no problem with that. Pictures and descriptions just cannot convey how special little Doc truly is. Once you meet this little guy in person, you will know you just found your new best friend!
