Story
Poppy is a small breed pup (~10 pounds) who does well with other dogs. She is still learning the basics and will benefit from continued training and positive socialization as she matures. Like many young dogs, she will need structure, consistency, and guidance to help her develop into a well-adjusted adult companion. Story
Double Dribble is a distinguished black and tan chihuahua who is adjusting well to life at Muttville – if you keep him plied with snacks, laps, and scratches, he’s as easy as pie. Well, Double Dribble is an easygoing gent most of the time, he’s very mellow and believes in going with the flow. He’s got the best kind of ears, where one is cocked a bit higher than the other, giving him a perpetually quizzical expression. Really, he’s in a constant state of trying to determine if he’s dribbled once or twice – he often can’t remember, hence the name. While not always confident about the number of dribbles, this cute chi is positive he’d be a great addition to your family. Come meet him today! Here's some notes from his foster: Double Dribble has a voracious appetite, he licks the bowl 100% clean. You won't have to worry about getting him to eat, it surely is his favorite activity! He becomes super attentive anytime I eat - makes the “cute face” to try to get some! Generally he's not too active. He mostly just likes to be in the presence of and hang out around people. Dribble likes to take frequent short naps! (thus far, wants to nap in the same room as people, or will wake up and walk over to get your attention) and generally wants to remain in the same room as me at all times. He also does not whine or complain when separated from his humans. He will just settle in for a nap when left alone. Double Dribble enjoys outdoor walks, and can walk multiple blocks (though a stroller is preferred). He is super active and super social - if he can catch the scent of other dogs, he zooms around. Otherwise, he will go for a slow, leisurely stroll. He seems calm around people/dogs/birds, though has not extensive contact thus far. He does not bark or make noise. He struggles with multiple steps - can navigate 4-5 (including at Muttville HQ). Anything beyond that, and I prefer to carry him. Dribble is Potty-trained! Will use the restroom outside. He rides calmly in the car while inside carrier. Would probably function best in a car with a human next to him giving him comfort. Once relaxed, he will even curl up and sleep.

Applesauce is a delightful little 1-2 year old Min Pin/Dachshund mix who weighs about 14 lbs and has personality to spare! When our volunteer met her in the shelter, she ran right up to her and licked her hand... and we knew she was coming with us! In a short time in foster, she has truly begun to blossom. As her confidence has grown, so has her joy for life, play, and connection with her people. Applesauce starts her day bright and early around 6:30 a.m. with a potty break, followed by breakfast and one of her favorite activities: a long morning walk. She happily accompanies her foster family on the walk to the school bus stop and then continues on for a full, active 45-minute stroll. She’s energetic and enthusiastic at the beginning of walks and may pull a bit out of excitement, but she settles in after the first 10–15 minutes and becomes a calm, pleasant walking companion. She mostly ignores other dogs she passes, enjoys greeting some people, and squirrels and birds are very exciting to her.  After her walk, Applesauce is content to relax at home. She’ll chew on a toy, play for a bit, and then happily curl up on someone’s lap for a long nap. She strikes a nice balance between playful energy and mellow downtime throughout the day. In the evening, after dinner around 6:30–7:00 p.m., she revs up again with playful bursts and indoor zoomies, showing off her fun and silly side. Her day winds down with a final potty break around 9:30 p.m., and she sleeps in a crate in the bedroom, usually settling in easily and sleeping through the night with minimal disruption.   Applesauce is a playful dog who loves her toys and enjoys a good chase game. She’s also a devoted cuddle bug and can happily spend an hour snoozing on a lap or curled up in her dog bed after exercise. She has bonded strongly with her foster mom and tends to follow her from room to room, earning her the affectionate title of “Velcro dog.”   She can be sensitive to unfamiliar noises in the home and may react when surprised, especially if she’s been sleeping. She’s also shown a little uncertainty around men, particularly when caught off guard, though she does warm up with calm, patient interactions and is perfectly happy to cuddle once she feels safe. Applesauce would benefit from a home that understands she’s still settling, continues positive reinforcement, and helps her build confidence at her own pace. Once she knows you, she loves you forever. She recently saw the volunteer who rescued her and her tail would not stop wagging - frankly, we didn't know dogs' tails could even move that quickly!   Applesauce has interacted appropriately with teens and younger children, though her enthusiasm and tendency to jump straight up when excited may make her a bit much for very small kids. She hasn’t lived with other dogs in her foster home, but she lived in a room with several other dogs while at the shelter and was fine with all of them. She could go to a home with other dogs but also would be perfectly happy as your one and only love!   She’s made great progress with house training and now reliably signals when she needs to go outside— she’s even started using a bell!  She’s crate trained for nighttime and understands that the crate means bedtime, though being crated during the day while her people leave is something she’s still learning and improving on.   Applesauce is smart, eager to please, and very treat-motivated. She already knows sit, down, and paw, and is currently working on come, stop, and stay. She learns quickly and clearly enjoys training and engagement. She’s also an enthusiastic chewer and will need durable toys and enrichment to keep her happily occupied.   Applesauce is a fun, affectionate, active little dog who would thrive with a family that enjoys daily walks, playtime, and interactive companionship. She loves being part of the action, soaking up attention, and sharing life with her people. If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and reward your patience with deep loyalty and affection, Applesauce may be the perfect match.February 17, 2026, 2:16 pm

Adoption fee: $700 We have a little Dreidel... and he's not made out of clay!  Light the menorah and get ready to fall in love — Dreidel is the last of the Hanukkah puppies still waiting for his forever home, and he’s ready to be the little miracle that lights up your life. Dreidel is a 14-16 week old Min Pin puppy rescued from the shelter, currently just over 5 pounds and expected to stay nice and small. What he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in confidence, affection, and personality. Dreidel's fosters have fostered a lot of puppies in their time, and he's one of the favorites. He just has the most fabulous personality: outgoing without being pushy, playful but not over the top, a lovebug and cuddler but not super needy. He's a 10 out of 10 puppy, for sure. Dreidel has been raised in foster care with lots of love and plenty of time around kids, and it shows. He adores people and wants to be close to his humans — being held, petted, cuddled, and included in whatever you’re doing. He’s playful and sweet, but also surprisingly polite for such a young puppy. Dreidel is far more motivated by affection than food; he eats lightly, sleeps soundly, and does his best to keep his sleeping area clean. He lets you know it’s time to potty with fidgeting or soft little noises, and bedtime is around 8 pm, after which he sleeps quietly through the night.   True to his name, Dreidel is the bold one. He’s confident and very smart, often taking charge when playtime starts. He’s the type of puppy who likes to know what’s going on and believes he should be involved in it all. He’s also very affectionate and eager to connect, and with gentle guidance and patience, he’s going to shine. He’s currently in a serious puppy “need-to-chew” phase, but he’s gentle, non-bitey, and easily redirected.   Dreidel is generally quiet, with just a small bark if he thinks you might be leaving without him. He does wonderfully with kids, doesn’t need much space due to his tiny size, and truly thrives on love, attention, and companionship.   Dreidel is a little Hanukkah miracle — sweet, clean, affectionate, and bright. If you’re looking for a small dog with a big heart and a confident sparkle to light up your home, Dreidel just might be your perfect match.February 17, 2026, 1:53 pm
