Story
Forever in Foster CareReina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.    Meet Reina! This girl is 7 years old and is handicapable! Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her. She is a hit around the neighborhood with her sunny disposition and love of everyone she meets. June 11, 2024, 10:15 pm

Sunny was surrendered to DRM in 2018 after her owner passed away and has been loved by her foster mom since then. Sunny is a smart girl and knows all of her basic commands. She also lets you know when she must go outside by pawing at your hand and giving you a quick kiss. She loves to run around in the yard and when she’s tired out, she wants to rest by your side.   Sunny wants nothing more than to be by your side and craves attention. Her foster reports that she just wants to be loved and feel safe!  Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. http://dobermanrescueminnesota.com/adoption-steps/ Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. Beautiful girl looking for perfect home!! Delilah is doing well! Not only is she soooo beautiful, she can be such a sweetie pie! She is Velcro to her foster mom much of the day and loves to cuddle. She is soooo smart, she has learned to sit, go sit by the door (her potty cue), she knows "wait" , "come" & "stay" and shake! She definitely loves chew toys, so lots of of tuff chew toys are good to have on hand. She is good with older, slower more calmer kids. She can still be nervous in new situations and around new people or animals, so we have to be cautious about introductions, but it seems she is attentive to foster mom for cues on if the situation is ok/safe and she seems to be able to be calmed/distracted before she gets too agitated. Delilah needs a home that will be patient and understanding with her and will earn her trust through calmness, dependability and most importantly lots of love!!! New to DRM, stay tuned for more info!!Newer to Doberman Rescue Minnesota. Everyone say Hello to this young handsome pup named Gunner! Gunner is a 6 month old, neutered bouncy boy. Gunner has shown to us so far that he is up for any adventure you are willing to share with him. He is doing wonderful on learning to walk on leash, making friends with other dogs and loves to say Hi to those he meets. Gunner is all puppy so meeting little kids needs to be supervised and done super slow. Gunner is very energetic, so he could knock them over and he is a little nervous if the child(ren) are too loud and move too quickly, so he may be best suited for older kids and ones that are dog savvy.  He has been learning the life of "camping up north" and has been great with care rides and crating. Gunner is up for just about any new journey as long as he is with his humans and a part of the action. He is learning boundaries and new things everyday and he is very smart and willing to learn and please. No experience with cats.  This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Story
Hi! I'm Georgia! I'm from Alabama! From her foster: Georgia is a cuddle bug, who loves on her foster humans and just wants love in return. She loves to cuddle on the couch and get all the belly rubs. She has been so sweet with all kids and adults we meet on leash, no interactions with kids yet off leash. She's very submissive with dogs on leash and likes to play with other dogs, but slow introduction are a must. She is not yet tested with cats. She is potty trained and is kennel trained. She loves chewing on bones, so would recommend to have plenty around the house to keep her from chewing items she isn't supposed to. She does need some training. Leash training and door dashing she will need some work. She has some fears/can be shy with certain things. We are working on fear of her harness/leash. She needs someone patient and understanding and committed to positive reinforcement training. If you want a cuddly dog who will love you and can give her the love and training she needs, she will be the perfect dog for you!

Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Hi! I’m Cyrus! I’m about 2 years old and look to be maybe a Doberman/Lab mix, but that’s just a guess! I’m a very happy boy and I love to play!  I’m very sweet and would do great in training (as I will do just about anything for a treat ). I’d do great in an active family, someone who can take me on daily walks and help me get out some energy. I do good with other dogs, but the shelter still recommends we do a meet & greet if I'm going to be in a home with other dogs. I would do best in a home wiht older children just due to my active personality. I do great in my kennel overnight and seem to be potty-trained! I've spent 4 weeks at a training facility getting hands-on training to be the best boy! I know how to sit, lay down, and walk well on a leash! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA, and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long-distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##1836569##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please help us by fostering  TODAY!!!!! ________________________________________________________ We try to evaluate  most of our adoptable dogs temperament  with a senior UDR rescuer before it goes into a foster home. This helps ensure we place it in the right foster home. We may have some dogs in rescue who are not on our website that we are getting to know and who may need a foster home. Our goal is to place dogs in the right foster and adoptive homes! Of course it is up to the fosters to further evaluate the dogs while they are living in the home.  New arrivals coming soon! We partner with Doberman Rescue of Northern Texas, High Desert Doberman Rescue and many other rescues across the US and world. We have new Dobermans coming in often and have the ability to take in a homeless Dobermans the same day we are contacted should we get a surrender request. We can always use fosters to be on the ready to foster one of these new arrivals!         Please apply on our website to foster, or give a shout out if you can help any of these dogs!! As always fosters get the first chance to adopt! You provide a safe, loving home with daily structure until your foster dog gets adopted. Time frame is anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months. If you have a dog, your dog may like a friend. We try match up the dog with the foster home best suited for each dog in need. UDR supplies all the dog food, some supplies and always pays for vet care. Going on vacation and worried you will have to find a place for your foster dog?? NO worries!!!Know we DO have numerous options for vacation boarding and doing temporary fostering of your foster dog while you take that much needed vacation. We are also in need of short term fosters, those foster homes who would take in a foster dog on a short term basis, a weekend, a week or two, even to help in emergency or medical situations. Please fill out our foster application today and help a dog in need!!!  Fosters get first chance to adopt their foster dogs, so this might be a great way to "test" out your new friend. Fostering has its perks!! Many fosters do join the foster failure club, meaning they end up adopting their foster dog! Why should I foster a dog? Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have (other than adopting, of course). By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you’re: freeing up a spot so a shelter can take in another dog. giving your foster dog the time he needs to be ready for adoption. helping us learn more about the dog so he can end up in the best home possible. socializing the dog to a home environment and possibly getting him used to being around other pets and different types of people. Thank you for helping us help them! Fostering saves lives. Be a hero, foster a dog in need! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet 10 month old Puppy Snoop! Snoop, the mischievously loving member of the resilient Doberman puppy trio, is on a journey to find a forever home filled with love and understanding. Discovered as a stray alongside his sisters Celeste and Lavender, Snoop's spirit shines through despite the challenges he has faced. At an estimated 6 to 9 months old, Snoop embodies the playful and adventurous essence of puppyhood. But he can be a very shy and timid guy at times. When we first met Snoop, his initial weight of 45 pounds unveiled a troubling past of malnourishment and adversity. Today he weighs in at 56 pounds thanks to his foster family's love. If you want to help Snoop with food, check out our wish-list on Chewy! Despite this, Snoop's vibrant personality persists, showcasing his resilience and unwavering spirit. His lively demeanor and love for cuddling remain intact, revealing a love bug with an unbreakable heart and spirit. This little guy would not hurt a fly, he may run in the opposite direction though! Snoop, the mischievous brother, adds an extra layer of joy to every moment. His playful antics and affectionate nature make him a delightful companion. Yet, beneath his lively exterior, Snoop reveals a vulnerability that only serves to deepen the connection with his caring companions. Snoop will need a fully fenced yard as this boy can jump like a high stepping gazelle! Yes Snoop can clear a 4-6 foot fence with ease. Snoop is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped and nuetered! If you have room in your heart for a courageous soul in need of healing, Snoop is ready to make a lasting impression on your life and be your loyal companion. Visit our website at www.uniteddobermanrescue.org to submit your adoption application and welcome Snoop into your home. Your love and care will play a pivotal role in Snoop's ongoing journey toward recovery, ensuring that this resilient and lovable brother finds the perfect family to share his adventures and continue his healing. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 11, 2024, 6:57 pm

Pumba walks well on a leash, enjoys strolls, and loves a large fenced yard. This resilient little guy is looking for a loving home where he can feel secure and cherished.    Pumba loves food and needs to be fed separately to prevent resource guarding. He's fine with humans around his food but prefers not to share with other dogs. He currently lives with two small dogs and one large dog but would love more one-on-one attention. Pumba is a snuggler, often burrowing under blankets at bedtime.   Kid-friendly, Pumba is best with older, considerate children. He’s potty trained and doesn't need a crate, doing well when left loose in the house. He can be vocal if crated and left alone, so a single dwelling is ideal.   Despite a tough past, Pumba's spirit is unbroken.
