Honey is a sweet two year old Doberman/husky mix. Sadly, her mommy has a terminal illness and has reached out to us to find Honey the perfect forever home. Honey is spayed, up-to-date on all required vaccines, HW negative and micro chipped. Honey is sweet and affectionate but a little awkward. She just needs a little bit of training to become that perfect dog. Training her mom just hasn’t been up to lately. Honey has one beautiful blue eye and the most adorable ears I’ve ever seen. She weighs about 55 pounds. She would do well with older children that wouldn't be knocked over as well as a good natured doggy sibling. I am a very majestic, high-energy, and loving young adult female Doberman Pinscher who loves nothing more than spending time with my people. I can be a bit anxious in new environments and situations, but I do well with a solid routine. I’m super smart too! I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “outside”, “come”, “go potty”, and “kennel/crate” and I’m even potty, crate and leash trained although I will admit that I pull on the leash and my strength can be easily overwhelming especially to younger/smaller people. My favorite activities include snuggling, lounging on the couch, chewing on marrow bones, parading around the house with my favorite stuffed animal, and snacking on treats like blueberries, carrots, and tomatoes. In fact, I will even help myself to the tomatoes in the garden so hopefully my new home will have a few extra tomato plants just for me! Hee, hee!! I don’t think I need a doggie companion in my new home but if there is one, it should be noted that I prefer smaller dogs which some may say seems a bit ironic since I have a high-prey drive…go figure! Truth is, I dislike squirrels and other small critters in my space, so cats are definitely not a good fit for me. Foster mom says that I “can be a bit neurotic” when it comes to small vermin in my space, and I cannot disagree with her. After all, I am a natural guardian, always aware of my surroundings and vigilant about surveilling my property to maintain its integrity. Currently, I have free reign of the several acres on which I live, and I have never wandered off. If I didn’t have the property to run, I don’t know if I would need a fenced yard…part of me feels that a fenced yard I could call my own space would be great. I should also mention that I enjoy barking at strangers outside and I have quite a big, alarming bark so my new home should not have any shared walls! Despite my strength and utter dislike for squirrels (hee, hee), I am a large, beautiful girl with an even bigger and more beautiful personality! I am an incredibly sweet lady who bonds very strongly to my people and have never shown any aggression to my family. Foster mom feels very privileged to be part of my story and I know she’s going to miss me terribly, but she knows that my life-long dream is to find a furever family I can call my own. A special family who will not only shower me with unconditional love but who will NEVER give up on me! Forever in Foster CareReina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.    Meet Reina! This girl is 7 years old and is handicapable! Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her. Sunny was surrendered to DRM in 2018 after her owner passed away and has been loved by her foster mom since then. Sunny is a smart girl and knows all of her basic commands. She also lets you know when she must go outside by pawing at your hand and giving you a quick kiss. She loves to run around in the yard and when she’s tired out, she wants to rest by your side.   Sunny wants nothing more than to be by your side and craves attention. New to DRM, stay tuned for more info!! Meet Carmal, our stunning young 2 year old red female. This energetic and intelligent girl is as sweet as they come.  She is crate trained, housebroken and gets along with other dogs after slow and proper introductions. She needs more socialization with other dogs as she is lacking in self confidence and can get very assertive and barky. She is a large female and will need a confident and strong owner who can provide structure, trust and boundaries. She is very food motivated and knows basic commands and so much more. As of right now we are unsure how she would do with cats. This girl is just a bundle of energy that just needs some structure and guidance to succeed in life.
