Story
Forever in Foster CareReina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.    Meet Reina! This girl is 7 years old and is handicapable! Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her. She is a hit around the neighborhood with her sunny disposition and love of everyone she meets. June 20, 2024, 11:10 pm

Sunny was surrendered to DRM in 2018 after her owner passed away and has been loved by her foster mom since then. Sunny is a smart girl and knows all of her basic commands. She also lets you know when she must go outside by pawing at your hand and giving you a quick kiss. She loves to run around in the yard and when she’s tired out, she wants to rest by your side.   Sunny wants nothing more than to be by your side and craves attention. Her foster reports that she just wants to be loved and feel safe!  Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. http://dobermanrescueminnesota.com/adoption-steps/ Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home.   This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Meet  Odin !  This gentle soul is a 11 year old Doberman who loves everyone he meets, especially young people!  Odin  is well-mannered and will politely remind you when it's time to eat. He adores being petted and enjoys exploring outside with his doggy friends.  Odin  never wanders far and has a great recall. His foster has exposed him to a lot of places and nosies, nothing phases this boy. After his adventures,  Odin  loves nothing more than a cozy nap with his stuffed lamb he takes everywhere. He is crate trained and can even be left alone unsupervised. Beautiful girl looking for perfect home!! Delilah is doing well! Not only is she soooo beautiful, she can be such a sweetie pie! She is Velcro to her foster mom much of the day and loves to cuddle. She is soooo smart, she has learned to sit, go sit by the door (her potty cue), she knows "wait" , "come" & "stay" and shake! She definitely loves chew toys, so lots of of tuff chew toys are good to have on hand. She is good with older, slower more calmer kids. She can still be nervous in new situations and around new people or animals, so we have to be cautious about introductions, but it seems she is attentive to foster mom for cues on if the situation is ok/safe and she seems to be able to be calmed/distracted before she gets too agitated. Delilah needs a home that will be patient and understanding with her and will earn her trust through calmness, dependability and most importantly lots of love!!! Story
Kratos, the BIG RED dog!Kratos is a lover. He is always making sure to give kisses.    He is very inquisitive on new things or actions, as a 1 year  old. He watches and soaks in everything.  He is a extremely fast learner. He tilts his head and is thinking and listening to what was said.    He is also very aware of smells and noise outside and will look out windows to see and monitor.   Kratos is great with other dogs. He is all about friends.  He has also shown signs of being very interested in bunnies, however he will not pull on leash and will refocus extremely fast when asked.   He loves clean blankets for naps and sleeping time. His favorite toys are balls and stuffed.   He is great with "spa time". Bath, ears, teeth and nails.    He likes walks, not long, just enough for him to see things and smell and then he wants back in the house. He does not care for any bugs. If they are out he wants back in the house. He does enjoy deck time and is happy to be out close to the house. He has been getting exposed to the kitties and he is doing really well. As long as the cats are dog savvy and just walk around normal and don't run or tease he is doing fantastic. Kratos has never been around kids, so we would recommend a family with no small children.    He looks for his person though the day for a kiss and pets. He loves touch.  A quick lay on the floor horizontal with him makes him very happy.  We were told that Kratos has a chicken allergy, so we have been making sure his diet is based on other proteins for food and all treats. He has been doing well.  This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Hi! I’m Cyrus! I look to be maybe a Doberman/Lab mix, but that’s just a guess! I’m a very happy boy and I love to play! I graduated from the Missouri State University Darr College of Ag Inaugural Companion Animal Science Class. So, I already know my basics. Like sit, lay, stay and walk on a leash. I've been at the Humane Society for way too long. And, I came here from the city pound where I was brought in as a stray - so my history is unknown. I'm really ready for a family of my own. Is it with you? ##1836569##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please help us by fostering  TODAY!!!!! ________________________________________________________ We try to evaluate  most of our adoptable dogs temperament  with a senior UDR rescuer before it goes into a foster home. This helps ensure we place it in the right foster home. We may have some dogs in rescue who are not on our website that we are getting to know and who may need a foster home. Our goal is to place dogs in the right foster and adoptive homes! Of course it is up to the fosters to further evaluate the dogs while they are living in the home.  New arrivals coming soon! We partner with Doberman Rescue of Northern Texas, High Desert Doberman Rescue and many other rescues across the US and world. We have new Dobermans coming in often and have the ability to take in a homeless Dobermans the same day we are contacted should we get a surrender request. We can always use fosters to be on the ready to foster one of these new arrivals!         Please apply on our website to foster, or give a shout out if you can help any of these dogs!! As always fosters get the first chance to adopt! You provide a safe, loving home with daily structure until your foster dog gets adopted. Time frame is anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months. If you have a dog, your dog may like a friend. We try match up the dog with the foster home best suited for each dog in need. UDR supplies all the dog food, some supplies and always pays for vet care. Going on vacation and worried you will have to find a place for your foster dog?? NO worries!!!Know we DO have numerous options for vacation boarding and doing temporary fostering of your foster dog while you take that much needed vacation. We are also in need of short term fosters, those foster homes who would take in a foster dog on a short term basis, a weekend, a week or two, even to help in emergency or medical situations. Please fill out our foster application today and help a dog in need!!!  Fosters get first chance to adopt their foster dogs, so this might be a great way to "test" out your new friend. Fostering has its perks!! Many fosters do join the foster failure club, meaning they end up adopting their foster dog! Why should I foster a dog? Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have (other than adopting, of course). By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you’re: freeing up a spot so a shelter can take in another dog. giving your foster dog the time he needs to be ready for adoption. helping us learn more about the dog so he can end up in the best home possible. socializing the dog to a home environment and possibly getting him used to being around other pets and different types of people. Thank you for helping us help them! Fostering saves lives. Be a hero, foster a dog in need! Snoop, the mischievously loving member of the resilient Doberman puppy trio, is on a journey to find a forever home filled with love and understanding. Discovered as a stray alongside his sisters Celeste and Lavender, Snoop's spirit shines through despite the challenges he has faced. At an estimated 6 to 9 months old, Snoop embodies the playful and adventurous essence of puppyhood. But he can be a very shy and timid guy at times. When we first met Snoop, his initial weight of 45 pounds unveiled a troubling past of malnourishment and adversity. Today he weighs in at 56 pounds thanks to his foster family's love. If you want to help Snoop with food, check out our wish-list on Chewy! Despite this, Snoop's vibrant personality persists, showcasing his resilience and unwavering spirit. His lively demeanor and love for cuddling remain intact, revealing a love bug with an unbreakable heart and spirit. This little guy would not hurt a fly, he may run in the opposite direction though! Snoop, the mischievous brother, adds an extra layer of joy to every moment. His playful antics and affectionate nature make him a delightful companion. Yet, beneath his lively exterior, Snoop reveals a vulnerability that only serves to deepen the connection with his caring companions. Snoop will need a fully fenced yard as this boy can jump like a high stepping gazelle! Yes Snoop can clear a 4-6 foot fence with ease. Snoop is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped and nuetered! If you have room in your heart for a courageous soul in need of healing, Snoop is ready to make a lasting impression on your life and be your loyal companion. Hi, I’m Chico! I’m a sweet, very energetic three year old Miniature Pinscher, 27 pound lap dog. I like to give lots of kisses and do parkour when I do zoomies. My foster mom is trying to teach me to not do it inside the house but it is so much fun! I like to sit pretty and beg for attention too.  I am potty trained but I have had a few accidents. I am super friendly to all people. I like to stare at you when you pet me. I do well on a leash and could probably run and walk forever. I love to play catch.  I’m not quite sure about the dogs in my foster home. I don’t love being kenneled but do it just fine. Car rides can be a bit stressful. I have not barked at my foster house and have been told I am the quietest dog ever. I am looking for a family that can possibly match my energy level and give me tons of attention. Is that you?    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Pumba walks well on a leash, enjoys strolls, and loves a large fenced yard. This resilient little guy is looking for a loving home where he can feel secure and cherished.    Pumba loves food and needs to be fed separately to prevent resource guarding. He's fine with humans around his food but prefers not to share with other dogs. He currently lives with two small dogs and one large dog but would love more one-on-one attention. Pumba is a snuggler, often burrowing under blankets at bedtime.   Kid-friendly, Pumba is best with older, considerate children. He’s potty trained and doesn't need a crate, doing well when left loose in the house. He can be vocal if crated and left alone, so a single dwelling is ideal.   Despite a tough past, Pumba's spirit is unbroken.
