Story
Forever in Foster CareReina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.    Meet Reina! This girl is 7 years old and is handicapable! Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her. She is a hit around the neighborhood with her sunny disposition and love of everyone she meets. April 18, 2024, 9:18 pm

Sunny was surrendered to DRM in 2018 after her owner passed away and has been loved by her foster mom since then. Sunny is a smart girl and knows all of her basic commands. She also lets you know when she must go outside by pawing at your hand and giving you a quick kiss. She loves to run around in the yard and when she’s tired out, she wants to rest by your side.   Sunny wants nothing more than to be by your side and craves attention. Her foster reports that she just wants to be loved and feel safe!  Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. http://dobermanrescueminnesota.com/adoption-steps/ Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. Happy Go-Lucky Boy Wiley is ready to meet his forever family!Happy Go-Lucky Boy Wiley is ready to meet his forever family! Wiley is a 5 year old Dobie mix. He finds himself looking for a yet another home through no fault of his own. Wiley was surrendered back to DRM when his owner became ill and could no longer take care of him. He is shy and takes a while to warm up to new people. He would do best in a home with a submissive female or no other animals, though he doesn't mind cats. He's very food motivated so his foster mom is taking full advantage of that with his training. Wiley is crate trained and will go to his crate when prompted to but also does well left out. He will whimper, and he can and will get out of his crate, but normally does just fine once he realizes he's alone. Wiley loves his rope toys and any toy he can shake. Wiley is currently on some inexpensive anxiety meds to help build his confidence and they seem to be working. He does have a higher prey drive and has gone through some tie outs so a physical fence will be REQUIRED . This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Say Hello to our red boy Moosey!Newer to Doberman Rescue Minnesota and available for adoption  The big red guy named Moose, is a 1 1/2 year old neutered lump of love. He is extremely gentle, quiet, polite and wants to be with his person all day long if he has something to say about it! He is learning how to help outside when it is time to do chores and he has to tend to the horses and chickens too. His foster is working on his recall and he is starting to get it but when he's focused on something he tends to turn off the ears lately. He is crate trained, house trained and he is learning fast all his obedience skills. He is great with other dogs that he has been around and he is even good with the two kitties in the home.  He loves to go for walks on the property and on the trails and his leash skills are drastically improving and a mention of his name and he knows not to walk so fast and then he gets right back in pace with his foster again. He is great with car rides and running errands. Is very good with meeting new people and he is not a barker. This boy is an absolute cuddle bunny and waits for couch time with foster at night watching tv or laying by the fireplace and then the best is bedtime when he can snuggle right in on all the blankies.   If you are looking for the best companion this is your boy! Our new girl Raven is all ears to hear from you!New to Doberman Rescue Minnesota.  This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Raven is a sweet, petite, very pretty 2 year old girl with great ears! She is great with adults, loves getting pets but is not good with kids. She doesn't have any experience with small dogs but she plays rough, so they might not like that. She is crate trained. She loves her crate and even loves the cover on if she is sleeping. Raven likes to go on walks and is getting better on the leash. She does eat dirt and sticks so a keen eye or muzzle should be used when out in the yard or on walks .In the house if bored, she will get into paper, stuffies, blankets, etc and start to destroy them. She is a quick learner and food motivated and is learning come, stay, leave it, etc. She is also on a digestive supplement and Proin for leaking. She is such a love and such a cute and spunky girl who loves her humans and  her foster brother. Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Hi! I’m Cyrus! I’m about 2 years old and look to be maybe a Doberman/Lab mix, but that’s just a guess! I’m a very happy boy and I love to play!  I’m very sweet and would do great in training (as I will do just about anything for a treat ). I’d do great in an active family, someone who can take me on daily walks and help me get out some energy. I do good with other dogs, but the shelter still recommends we do a meet & greet if I'm going to be in a home with other dogs. I would do best in a home wiht older children just due to my active personality. I do great in my kennel overnight and seem to be potty-trained! I've spent 4 weeks at a training facility getting hands-on training to be the best boy! I know how to sit, lay down, and walk well on a leash! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA, and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long-distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##1836569##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please help us by fostering  TODAY!!!!! ________________________________________________________ We try to evaluate  most of our adoptable dogs temperament  with a senior UDR rescuer before it goes into a foster home. This helps ensure we place it in the right foster home. We may have some dogs in rescue who are not on our website that we are getting to know and who may need a foster home. Our goal is to place dogs in the right foster and adoptive homes! Of course it is up to the fosters to further evaluate the dogs while they are living in the home.  New arrivals coming soon! We partner with Doberman Rescue of Northern Texas, High Desert Doberman Rescue and many other rescues across the US and world. We have new Dobermans coming in often and have the ability to take in a homeless Dobermans the same day we are contacted should we get a surrender request. We can always use fosters to be on the ready to foster one of these new arrivals!         Please apply on our website to foster, or give a shout out if you can help any of these dogs!! As always fosters get the first chance to adopt! You provide a safe, loving home with daily structure until your foster dog gets adopted. Time frame is anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months. If you have a dog, your dog may like a friend. We try match up the dog with the foster home best suited for each dog in need. UDR supplies all the dog food, some supplies and always pays for vet care. Going on vacation and worried you will have to find a place for your foster dog?? NO worries!!!Know we DO have numerous options for vacation boarding and doing temporary fostering of your foster dog while you take that much needed vacation. We are also in need of short term fosters, those foster homes who would take in a foster dog on a short term basis, a weekend, a week or two, even to help in emergency or medical situations. Please fill out our foster application today and help a dog in need!!!  Fosters get first chance to adopt their foster dogs, so this might be a great way to "test" out your new friend. Fostering has its perks!! Many fosters do join the foster failure club, meaning they end up adopting their foster dog! Why should I foster a dog? Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have (other than adopting, of course). By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you’re: freeing up a spot so a shelter can take in another dog. giving your foster dog the time he needs to be ready for adoption. helping us learn more about the dog so he can end up in the best home possible. socializing the dog to a home environment and possibly getting him used to being around other pets and different types of people. Thank you for helping us help them! Fostering saves lives. Be a hero, foster a dog in need! Snoop, the mischievously loving member of the resilient Doberman puppy trio, is on a journey to find a forever home filled with love and understanding. Discovered as a stray alongside his sisters Celeste and Lavender, Snoop's spirit shines through despite the challenges he has faced. At an estimated 6 to 9 months old, Snoop embodies the playful and adventurous essence of puppyhood. But he can be a very shy and timid guy at times. When we first met Snoop, his initial weight of 45 pounds unveiled a troubling past of malnourishment and adversity. Today he weighs in at 56 pounds thanks to his foster family's love. If you want to help Snoop with food, check out our wish-list on Chewy! Despite this, Snoop's vibrant personality persists, showcasing his resilience and unwavering spirit. His lively demeanor and love for cuddling remain intact, revealing a love bug with an unbreakable heart and spirit. This little guy would not hurt a fly, he may run in the opposite direction though! Snoop, the mischievous brother, adds an extra layer of joy to every moment. His playful antics and affectionate nature make him a delightful companion. Celeste, Lavendar, and Snoop are the newest additions to our family at United Doberman Rescue, and they are eagerly awaiting the warmth and love of their forever homes. These three adorable Doberman siblings were discovered as strays, navigating the challenges of life together before finding refuge in a shelter. Despite the hardships they faced, their spirits remain unbroken, and they are now ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives. Estimated to be between 6 to 9 months old, Celeste, Lavendar, and Snoop exhibit all the playful and endearing behaviors of puppies. Celeste, in particular, tugs at our heartstrings with her fragile state, having endured a tough journey that left her severely underweight. When we first met Celeste, she weighed only 30 pounds, a testament to the challenges she has overcome in her past. Rest assured, we are committed to giving her the extra care and nourishment she needs to blossom into a healthy and happy companion. We are always in need of your help to feed these homeless animals and have a food wish list on Chewy where you can help us help them too!  These three siblings share a special bond, but they are each looking for their own homes to create unique connections with their future families. Older/considerate kids would be best Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Does well being left loose in the house alone The most adorable chocolate chihuahua reporting for duty! They call me Pumba. The past year has not been good to me. I was put in an animal control shelter in Texas. I was found very Malnourished and Flea infested. I did have a microchip; my owners were notified but never came to claim me. That's okay, I am looking for a better beautiful future. I am food obsessive and would have to be fed separate if other pets are in the home. Foster mom thinks this is because of my never knowing where my next food source would come from. So, I will resource guard all my food and treats from other dogs. I'm ok with humans around my food/treats. I'm fine with 2 small dogs and 1 large dog in my foster home. But I sure would like more single attention of my own. I snuggle under the blankets for sleep time. I will go in a open crate with blankets also. I do not however like the door to be shut on me. I will bark continuously. I really don't need to be locked in. I am a good boy. I hate this cold Minnesota weather, so I do my business right away when I go out. I have also used the potty pad now and then, so I don't have to venture out. I do very well on a leash and love a good walk. I have a nice large fenced in yard here. I probably should have a single dwelling as I can be vocal if crated and left alone. I do alert if someone is at the door. Hi, Pumba 's foster mom here. Please fill out an application if Pumba has caught your eye. I would be very happy to answer any questions you may have about him. He would make a wonderful companion for most anyone. But I think he would love his very own person or two with all their attention devoted to him. Thank you for reading his profile! Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess.
