Meet Henry, a young and energetic Doberman mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality! Still in his playful puppy stage, Henry is full of life and curiosity. He adores people, is good with older kids (too strong for very small ones), and gets along well with both dogs and cats. Best w/ females and submissive male dogs. Henry loves toys, especially squeaky ones and ropes with handles, and can often be found zooming around the yard or proudly carrying his favorite rope. He’s crate trained, learning basic commands, and doing well with manners like polite greetings. Henry has a strong prey drive for wildlife, so a fenced yard is a must. He can be unsure about car rides, but settles in with patience and a few comforting treats. With a goofy, loyal personality and a love for outdoor fun and snuggles alike, Henry is looking for an active home ready to help him keep learning and growing.  This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Forever in Foster Care Meet Reina! This girl is 8 years old and is handicapable!  Reina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.  Her foster family and DRM have devoted themselves to keeping Reina in their home, where she will be cared for and loved for the rest of her life. Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her. She is a hit around the neighborhood with her sunny disposition and love of everyone she meets.  September 18, 2025, 10:11 am

Meet Luger! Tall, lean, and downright handsome, Luger is a 2-year-old Doberman with a big heart and an even bigger capacity for love. This affectionate, athletic boy has truly come into his own in foster care and is showing just how wonderful he can be with structure, patience, and the right environment. Luger is crate-trained and does amazing when it’s introduced properly. He’ll happily go in and out of his crate during the day for naps, and at night he sleeps quietly in his crate as long as it’s near his person, no fuss, no barking, just peaceful rest. He’s also dog-friendly with proper introductions! Luger is currently living with two large male dogs and one large female, and is doing fantastic. He’s not reactive and does well with calm, balanced dogs who don’t try to dominate him. With the right match and slow intros, he can absolutely enjoy a multi-dog home. Luger walks enthusiastically on leash and will benefit from continued leash training to fine-tune his manners, but he is not leash reactive, just excited to explore the world! He’s healthy, neutered, house-trained, and loves spending time with his people. Because of his size and energy, Luger would do best in an adult home or one with older teens who understand big, playful dogs (10+). This sweet boy has worked hard to show his true personality, which is gentle, loyal, and eager to please. Luger is ready to meet his forever family, who will keep building on the great progress he’s made. This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. New to DRM, stay tuned for more info!!Meet Ember!  Ember is a handsome, gentle young Doberman (about 1.5 years old) with a heart full of potential. Found wandering the streets of Kansas alongside his sisters, Pearl and Sophie, Ember has come a long way from his uncertain beginnings. Like his sister, Ember can be timid but submissive with new people or unfamiliar environments, but once he feels safe, his affectionate and playful side shines through. He adores following his person around and soaking up love and attention. Ember does well with the resident pets in his foster home (he knows them and feels comfortable), but he can be reactive toward unfamiliar dogs he sees. With continued positive reinforcement and structure, he’ll keep learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. He has been around two children (ages 8 and 11), and he absolutely adores playing and going on hikes with them.   Ember’s foster mom lives out in the country, but he’s ready to keep building on his progress with a family who can gently guide him forward. With patience and consistency, Ember will blossom into the loyal, loving companion every Doberman enthusiast dreams of. If you have a kind heart and a little time to give, Ember will give you his whole world in return. Age: Approximately 1 year old Weight: 17 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: No Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Good, few accidents Crate trained: No ****No cats and a fenced yard are required **** Come meet me at Spike and Houles in Stillwater on 11/9 from 12-2! Meet Siouxsie! Siouxsie is a sweet, smart, and playful Miniature Pinscher who was found abandoned while pregnant and raised her puppies in a loving foster home. She’s now ready for her forever family! Siouxsie thrives with calmer, friendly dogs and would enjoy an active canine companion. She’s very affectionate, loves snuggling on laps, and tends to pick one special person to stick by — even at bedtime. While she’s wary of new people at first, she’s learning to warm up with patience and gentle introductions. She’s not a fan of cats and is cautious around young children. This little girl has accomplished so much! She knows how to use a doggie door, navigate stairs, wait politely for her meals, signal when she needs to go outside, and walk on a leash. She’s currently learning commands like sit, stay, and not jumping on people. She loves zoomies, playing with her dog friends, and entertaining herself with toys, then settling into long, cozy naps. Siouxsie would thrive in a home with a well-fenced yard, consistent training, and a family ready to shower her with love and guidance. She’s loyal, loving, and full of personality — and she’s ready to bring joy and companionship to her forever home. Adoption fee: $425

Story
Hi my name is Red Foreman but my friends just call me Red, and I am told I am a very sweet boy. They think I am about 3.5 years old, 75 lbs, and I came up from Arkansas where I had been living in a shelter a VERY long time- like years long…and I mean people years. But then NDLB got a whiff of me and brought me here to MN to start living life in a home, and I gotta say I am loving it. Shelter life just wasn’t for me- I was a little too shy to get noticed, but in a home setting, my true personality comes out. Unlike my ‘That ‘70s Show’ namesake, I am NOT grumpy, impatient, or hard to please. A little love, a bowl of food, and a good belly rub are about all I need to make me happy. I am a shy boy, and tend to be skittish around new people, so don’t take it personally if I am nervous when we first meet. It seems like I warm up quicker to women over men, although I am non-discriminating when it comes to getting pets and scritches. I definitely pick one person in the household and gravitate more towards them. I have been very gentle with my foster mom and her friends. I did bark at her brother a few times to warn him to give me space, but backed away and retreated to my kennel. I did warm up to him after a few days, but I remain cautious. I have had limited interactions with children, but the few I have met, I let pet me although I was nervous. I have met some cats, and they seemed fine. I just ignored them. I have been good with my foster dog brothers, even trying to initiate some play when I get excited. I would love a doggy sibling, but I would also be content as an only dog. I haven’t picked up on this toy thing, although some of them are like small pillows, and I LIKE lying on pillows! As for energy, I am pretty chill overall. I get zoomies especially when I am getting let out of my crate, and I like my walks, but you would not describe me as high energy. My favorite spot is on the couch with you, but I do like my kennel, it makes me feel safe and I will go right in if you ask and stay quiet and content after a few barks to remind you to come back soon! I am fine in there overnight or when you are gone, I just don’t love not being in the same room as you if you are home. My mom lets me out some while she works and I have never been destructive or naughty when she isn’t looking. I usually just lie in her office in case she needs to give me a few pets between her calls. I did have a few accidents in the house when I first arrived, but I have since mastered only potting outside. I am a dream on walks, no pulling or barking, I just stay right by your side! I am also good in the car. Anyways, I would love to meet you and get to know you a bit better too! Hope to see you soon.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $425.00    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 26, 2025, 6:46 pm
