Forever in Foster CareReina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.    Meet Reina! This girl is just 6 years old and is handicapable! Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her. She is a hit around the neighborhood with her sunny disposition and love of everyone she meets.  Reina would do best in a home where someone would be home with her most of the day – she loves to snuggle! Sunny does live with a cat and she has learned to peacefully coexist in separate areas of the house.  Sunny is a smart girl and knows all of her basic commands. She also lets you know when she must go outside by pawing at your hand and giving you a quick kiss. She loves to run around in the yard and when she’s tired out, she wants to rest by your side.   Sunny wants nothing more than to be by your side and craves attention. Story

David the Doberman is a sweet, gentle boy who just loves to be around his people. He did great as a running partner for his previous foster dad and was reportedly a big snuggle buddy. He does well around other dogs after proper introductions. He is best friends with the resident female dog and seeks her out for attention and play. He does well with the female livestock outdoor dogs and is working on- but a little hesitant with the male resident dogs. David thrives on a household that has a pretty consistent day to day routine. When things aren’t routine or structured he can get a little anxious and act out. PLEASE don't be overwhelmed, David is a great dog who just needs a daily schedule much like a young child.  A relaxed and quiet home would be best. Having a secure handler who is breed knowledgable and calm will encourage him to remain calm. At this point, no busy households, no children, and a home that understands he will have to be kenneled when guests are coming over is a must. Anxious or reactive people will encourage the same from David. He is a very sensitive and empathic dog. He doesn't really play with toys or chew anything to pieces. He has a favorite toy that he keeps by him and doesn't seem to demolish it.  This boy loves snuggling with his people, and will wrap his body around their legs like a big hug. He's a definite dobie nose booper! He boops almost everything to verify what it is. He's got the dobie whine, and will try to talk to you in whines and whistles. , He does well with car rides, and will jump right in. He settles in and rides well. He minds his manners at the drive-thru, doesn't try to steal your fries, but won't tell you no if you offer to share!  This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Foster or adopter needed! This young lady has won over many hearts of those who have met her!! Ginger came to DRM in December 2021, pregnant, scared, and herself just a puppy. After having her babies, moving to several loving foster homes, and meeting a trainer, she now knows she is safe and has learned how to be a young girl having fun. Ginger is a spunky little dobe who loves playing with toys, playing with other dogs, and laying in sun spots. She is most comfortable with female humans but is slowly learning that not all men are scary. Ginger gives kisses and loves cuddling, enjoys running and chasing toys, is house and crate trained, and is the cutest little all natural Doberman. Even though we do not know her past life details, we suspect that it was a scary place for Ginger. She is beginning to realize that the world is not all bad but will need a patient home.
