Story
Spike is a loyal dog. He was left in our care by my sister who couldn't have pets where she lives. Its sad to say she has abandoned him with us. My husband and I have 5 other dogs and Spike doesn't get along with one who is a male. He constantly barks when he gets too close and will follow him out of a room. With all the constant barking, we risk being evicted. He loves to go on walks and likes to lay next to someone. He really is a good dog. I hope we can find him a family that will love him immensely.

Story
Ottis is a teddy bear with beautiful markings. He loves interacting with people and other dogs. He often gets the zoomies. We are estimating Ottis to be about 10 years old. But doesn’t act his age. Unfortunately, with our lifestyles at this time, he is not getting the proper attention he needs. He needs to get into a new home with a family that can pay more attention to him and go outside and play with him. So he can play, play, play like he loves to do.

Story
Pepper was originally the beloved companion of an elderly family member and thrived in a quiet, one-person home with a predictable routine. After her passing, Pepper came to live with our family, but we’ve learned that our busy household is not the right fit for him. Pepper is gentle, affectionate, and bonds closely with his person. He does best when someone is home often and able to take him outside rather than relying on a dog door. A calm home with a grass yard would likely be a good fit. Pepper would be a great match for a single adult or low-activity household seeking a close companion in a calm, stable environment. Pepper has a known heart murmur that has been noted during routine vet exams. No treatment required.

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Sandy is around 14 years old. She came to us when another family didn't want her anymore because of her constant digging. Sandy is a sweet and loyal dog to the right family. She does not like male dogs or small children. She is skittish and does not feel comfortable with being picked up. I wish we could keep her but, the constant barking and fighting with my husband's dog puts us at risk of being evicted. I really hope we can find her a home with a family that can love her as much as we have.

Story
Hi Im Vivian. I remember the shelter. The loud noises, the cold floors, the feeling of being overlooked day after day. I was there for over a month waiting, hoping someone would choose me. But no one did. Until one day my time ran out. I was placed on the euthanasia list. That could have been the end of my story. But instead it was my beginning. Desert Paws Sanctuary stepped in just in time and gave me a second chance at life. I was finally safe, but I wasnt okay yet. My body was hurting. I had a swollen vulva, and after visiting multiple vets, I was diagnosed with something scary TVT. Cancer. But just like I held on in the shelter, I kept holding on through treatment. I went through months of chemotherapy appointment after appointment and I had surgery to repair a hernia too. It wasnt easy. But I never gave up and neither did they. After 4 long months, I heard the words that changed everything, I was cancer free. Now Im here a senior girl with a story to tell and so much love left to give. I dont need much. Im not looking for chaos or anything fancy. I just want a soft place to rest, a gentle hand, and someone who will love me for the rest of my days. Ive fought so hard to be here. All Im missing now is my forever home. Could you be the one to give me that ending? Love,Vivian Please visit our website desertpawssanctuary.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
