Story
Alpha is about 6 years old. He is a beautiful, brown, pit bull mix. His owner passed away and was left behind in his backyard. He escaped his backyard and began roaming our neighborhood but would return to his owners front door. We rang the doorbell but no one answered (the house is vacant), so we gave him food and water for days until someone came for him. He’s had so many close calls with passing cars, was very skinny, covered in bug bites, and his paw pads were burnt due to staying on hot pavement. We decided to foster him until the owner’s family came for him but no one was able to take him in. We have a spare kennel and after a couple of days being around my 3 dogs, he was able to play with 2 of them that are his size. He is gentle with humans, playful with dogs his size, calm in his kennel, and only goes potty outside. He has a healthy appetite, which helped him gain a healthy looking weight. He loves getting his paws wet in our kiddie pool, pets and hugs, and dog treats.

Story
Gordo is about 4 years old and does not get along with other male dogs which has resulted to multiple dog fights. Maybe due to the fact that we have his mother whom he is very protective over. So if you have male dogs i wouldn’t recommend having him around them. Gordo is very active and likes to jump on people, if you are scared of him he will start to teethe and bite, but he won’t attack people. He also likes to bite shoes. He only listens to two people and is generally calm around them, me and my 17 year old daughter that raised him. He seems to be fine with only being around female dogs and could possibly be safe to be around them if separated from his mother. If you have other animals and kids, specially small ones, i would not recommend adopting Gordo or leaving him alone with them. We are trying to get him re-homed to someone who can work with him and possibly help him with his aggressive behavior. This is our last resort , if he cannot get adopted he will get put down.

Story
Hi everyone, this is Mayham. She is super energetic, sweet, and has the best smile in the world. She loves to play with anyone who gives her attention, and she enjoys walks, runs, and being active outdoors. I got Mayham about a year ago, but unfortunately I can no longer afford to keep her due to increasing responsibilities and bills piling up. I’m looking for a loving and responsible home that has more time to spend with her, play with her, and continue taking good care of her, including vet visits. I really want her to go to someone who will treat her like family.

Story
Sirius was born on February 15, 2025, and was given to us by a family member. He is a wonderful dog with a big personality and lots of energy. Sirius is house trained, great with kids, and loves being part of family activities. Sirius is playful, affectionate, energetic, independent, and a little mischievous. He loves going on walks, playing fetch, and staying active. While he enjoys being around his people, he can be anxious when meeting new people, especially men, and may need a little time and patience to warm up. Once he feels comfortable, he is a loving and loyal companion. In a new home, I'm looking for a safe, loving environment where Sirius will receive plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. He would do best with someone who has the time to spend with him, help him continue building confidence with new people, and truly treat him as part of the family. Sirius has so much love to give and will make a wonderful companion for the right home.

Story
We got an email back in August 2021 asking if we could rescue a sweet dog that had been dumped in a tract near a housing complex. Despite our kennels being full, something told us we needed to make an exception for this one. So we went and got her. And boy, are we glad we did! We had no clue at the time that she was pregnant, but lo and behold, her tummy started growing overnight, and she gave birth to nine healthy puppies on October 18, 2021, all of whom have found the most awesome forever homes! Now it’s Mama Bristol’s turn! Bristol is the kind of dog you wish you always had. She is so loving and so friendly and so easy-going. You just can’t help but fall in love with her! She can be elegant and a goof at the same time! She is funny and very energetic, and ready for any adventure. She needs an active family willing to help guide her to be the best version of herself. She is super smart and learns quickly. Bristol is a Pitbull, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, and Husky mix (we had one of her puppies genetically tested). She has recently been diagnosed with Epilepsy that is controlled with medication and routine testing, but she has a full life ahead of her, and we cannot wait to see her flourish in her forever home! Please note: All current AND previous pets (cats and dogs) MUST be up to date on vaccines and be spayed/neutered. Please check with your landlord, if you rent, for breed and weight restrictions before applying. We do not allow visitors unless you are an approved adopter. Pit Bull Terrier Mixed Breed (Medium)

Story
Winnie is a five-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix that was surrendered to us by her owners. They were unable to care for her due to personal health issues, and she grew up in the backyard, never learning how to be a family dog. The family's autistic 4-year-old child spent a lot of time with her, though, and she was absolutely amazing with the child. Due to the lack of socialization, sweet Winnie is extremely shy, and it takes her a long time to trust anyone. Once she gains your trust, she is the most loving and affectionate dog who only wants to cuddle. She has the sweetest temperament when she is comfortable and wants to be as close to her person as she possibly can. She loves toys and playing fetch, although she doesn't always bring the toy back! We are diligently working on basic training like walking on leash, simple commands, etc., but everything at a pace she is comfortable with. She would do well with a person or family that can spend a lot of time with her, helping her learn how to trust and exist comfortably in the normal world. Her adopter must understand that she needs a lot of time to adjust and be willing to work with her, at her own pace. If you'd like to give Winnie a chance, please fill out an adoption application here: www.luckysanimalrescue.com/adoption-app
