Story
Brady was rescued from a dump when he was 3 weeks old. I would have kept him except I moved to an apartment that did not allow animals. He is a loving dog who is approximately three and half years old. He would make a great agility dog because he loves solving challenges and playing. He has been predominantly an outside dog although he was raised as an inside for the first year and was often brought in to play with my daughters German Shepard. He and one of our cats was best of friends as the cat would often go out to play with him. He has an incredible sense of smell and instinctively points. He has spent the past 3 years on our family farm.

Story
Lucy is a pit bull mix with a heart of gold. She is a cuddle bug and is content to spend hours cuddling with you on the couch, but she also enjoys her play time as she’s only about 3 years old. Her favorite toys are balls (Lucille Ball is where she gets her name). We have not seen her interact with children or large dogs, but Lucy lived with two small dogs (Dachshunds) and was very gentle with them both. She is calm when meeting new people (men or women) and does not pull on her leash when going for walks. Lucy is not big on barking or making much noise, but she makes an adorable “Ayahhh” sound when she yawns. She also likes to “dead bug” where she lays on her back and kicks her legs back and forth like a dying bug. Because Lucy is such a cuddly dog, we think it would be best if she went to a home where somebody is always home or a home with another dog(s) to keep her company.

Story
Meet Vanilla! This lovely lady is looking for her forever family, and wants her new people to know these 10 things about her: 1. I am a Boerboel and I am about 3 years old. 2. I am a super social girl that really likes almost everyone I meet. 3. I can get a little jumpy and mouthy when I get excited around new people. I am practicing better canine behavior with the nice people at the Bullpen to correct these issues, and I will need my forever family to continue working with me on this. 4. I think I would do well in a home with children over 7, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs. 5. I’ve met lots of big dogs at the Bullpen, and I don’t mind them one bit. I think I would like it if my new home had a male dog over 50lbs for me to pal around with, as long as we were always fed separately! 6. I was in a foster to adopt through the shelter I came from, and I didn’t like the small dog that I was living with, so I got returned. Therefore, I don’t think that a home with small dogs or cats is a good fit for me. 7. The words that best describe me are eager to engage, affectionate, and playful. 8. My favorite things to do are hanging with humans, taking naps, and getting treats. 9. I am housebroken and crate-trained, and am working to improve my leash skills. I also know basic obedience and how to use a dog door! 10. I am fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. Unfortunately, I am heartworm positive, but I’ve started treatment, and will come with all the medicine needed to complete it at my new home. Ready to give Vanilla the forever home of her dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab. We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.

Story
Meet ravishing Raya! This gorgeous gal is looking for her forever family, and wants her new people to know these 10 things about her: 1. I am a Boerboel and I am about 5.5 years old. My life before rescue was awful. I was seized by animal control after they found me and several other dogs living in an abandoned trailer without food and water. When I first got to the shelter, I only weighed 65lbs! Luckily for me, the nice people nursed me back to health and then reached out to the Bullpen, who said I could come to the sanctuary to complete my rehabilitation. 2. As you can imagine, being locked in a bathroom and literally starving to death before rescue has made me insecure about food and barriers. I have been working really hard to overcome these obstacles and I’m doing great with the Bullpen staff, but I need my new home to be aware of my issues and recognize that even if I temporarily fall back on old, bad habits when I’m stressed out, it’s not who I am really am. My ideal family will be understanding, and patiently work with me to build confidence and heal from my past trauma. 3. Although I am very sweet and docile, I think I need to be in a home with adults only, or with teenage children that have experience with giant guardian breed dogs. 4. I’ve met lots of big dogs at the Bullpen, and I don’t mind them one bit. I would like it if my new home had a large, lower-energy male dog for me to pal around with, as long as we were fed separately always. 5. I’m unsure if I can live in a home with small dogs or cats, so a family with these types of pets might not be the best fit for me. 6. The words that best describe me are mellow, obedient, and loving. 7. My favorite things to do are lounging, getting ear rubs and butt scratches, and getting treats. 8. I am housebroken and crate-trained. I am good on a leash and I also know basic obedience and how to use a dog door! 9. I am fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. 10. I am heartworm positive, but I’ve started treatment, and will come with all the medicine needed to complete it at my new home. Ready to give Raya the forever home of her dreams? Story
Meet precious Pal! This handsome hunk is looking for his forever family, and wants his new people to know these 10 things about him: I am a 7 year old Bulldog, and I weigh about 80lbs. Something happened to my tail before I came to rescue that resulted in a permanent kink, which I’ve been told makes me even more adorable! The past few years have been rough for me. I was adopted and returned 3 times from a shelter in Atlanta before I came to the Bullpen, and I am hopeful that my next family will actually be forever. Like many dogs of my breed, I can be extremely stubborn and grumpy if I don’t get my way. I absolutely need an experienced owner who knows how to set and maintain clear and consistent boundaries. I am generally a social boy with new people and I think I could live in a home with children over 14, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs. I think I could happily live in a home with a large female dog. I love to chase the barn cats at the Bullpen, so I believe a home without cats or small dogs would be the best fit for me. My favorite things to do are get treats and explore outside in the yard. I also love to go in the car, but I do need to be crated for rides. The words that best describe me are energetic, stubborn, and curious. I am housebroken and know how to use a dog door. I am learning basic obedience and am getting better on a leash. I am also crate trained, but I don’t really like to go in. I am fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. Ready to give Pal the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab. We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. Story
Boomer is the best! This handsome hunk is looking for his forever family, and wants his new people to know these 9 things about him: 1. I am about 5 years old and I am an American Bulldog. 2. I came into rescue after my human mom died of cancer. My dad was really sad and felt like he couldn’t give me and my dog brother the time we needed so he called the nice people at the Bullpen and they agreed to take us! 3. I lived with a male Cane Corso at my last home and we got along well. I think I could live in a home with male or female dogs over 50lbs as long as we had a slow introduction. 4. I am generally a social boy with new people and I think I could live in a home with children over 7, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs. 5. I‘m not sure how I feel about smaller dogs or cats, but I might be able to make it work if my new family had these kinds of pets in the home. 6. My favorite things to do are get treats, take naps, and be around people. 7. The words that best describe me are sweet, affectionate, and curious. 8. I am excellent in a crate, know basic obedience, and have wonderful leash manners. I am also housebroken and know how to use a dog door. 9. I am fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. Ready to give Boomer the forever home of his dreams?
