Story
Health and age of current owner dictate need for a new home, I am a neighbor trying to assist the elderly owner in finding a good home for Jessie. The dog is calm but very alert, 10 years old, 40 lbs and in excellent overall health. She has been well cared for and loved by an elderly couple all her life. However, the husband passed away a few months ago and the wife is in poor health and struggling to care for herself and the dog. Jessie has usually been inside nights and outside during the day. An indoor kennel will accompany the adoption. She currently does not seem to like cats and has not been around other dogs but based on her demeanor she could probably be trained to get along with either. Jessie loves to be walked but is just as happy laying around in the house or yard, she would make a great companion for anyone looking for a zero out of pocket adoption and low maintenance cost pet.

Story
Woof woof! Hey there, future family! My name's Lady, and I'm here to tell you why I'm the dog you've been dreaming of. I may be 10 years old, but age is just a number, right? And trust me, I've still got plenty of love and life left to give! My journey to this shelter wasn't an easy one. My owners were moving to an apartment and couldn't take me and my sister Ella with them. It was a tough goodbye, but we're staying positive and hoping to find a new family who will give us the love and care we deserve. Now, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I've got a sleek black coat that's as shiny as a brand new penny, and I'm a Labrador, so you know I've got a heart of gold. I'm not spayed yet, but all my shots are up to date, so I'm healthy and ready to join your family right away. And speaking of family, I would absolutely love it if you could adopt my sister Ella too! We're like two peas in a pod, and we would be so happy to continue our journey together with you by our side. We both know sit and lay down, so you know we'll be on our best behavior from day one. So what do you say, friend? Are you ready to open your heart and home to a pair of sweet Labrador sisters like me and Ella? Come meet me at cage #407, and let's see if we're a match made in doggy heaven. My ID is 657441, but you'll know me by my wagging tail and eager eyes. I can't wait to meet you and start our journey together. Let's make some memories and create a bond that lasts a lifetime! 🐾❤️ Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. Story
Woof woof! Hello, potential new friend! My name's Ella, and I've got a heart full of love just waiting for someone like you to come along and take me home. I may be 9 years old, but I've still got plenty of pep in my step and enough love to last a lifetime. My journey to this shelter wasn't an easy one. My owners were moving to an apartment and couldn't take me and my sister Lady with them. It was a tough goodbye, but we're staying positive and hoping to find a new family who will cherish us just as much. Now, let's talk about why I'm the paw-fect companion for you. First off, I've got a sleek black coat that's sure to turn heads wherever we go. Plus, I'm a Chihuahua, so you know I've got plenty of personality packed into this tiny frame! I'm not spayed yet, but all my shots are up to date, so you can trust that I'm healthy and ready to join your family right away. And speaking of family, I would absolutely love it if you could adopt my sister Lady too! We're inseparable, and we would be so happy to continue our journey together with you by our side. But enough about me – let's talk about what really matters: my personality! I'm sweet, affectionate, and oh-so cuddly. Plus, I know all the basic commands like sit and lay down, so I'm sure to impress you with my obedience skills. So what do you say, friend? Are you ready to open your heart and home to a pair of adorable Chihuahuas like me and Lady? Come meet me at cage #303, and let's see if we're a match made in doggy heaven. My ID is 657442, but you'll know me by my wagging tail and eager eyes. I can't wait to meet you and start our journey together. Sweet high energy rescue dog. About 2 1/2 years old. At the time of adoption Job was emaciated and neglected. He is in dire need of a new forever home, with a loving committed family. I am looking for experienced dog owners only. He is neutered and gentle, but loves to play. Job needs daily exercise, and would be an excellent jogging/hiking partner.

Story
Meet Brooklyn, a delightful AKC-registered puppy born on February 16, 2024, who is eagerly looking for her forever home. Brooklyn is a bundle of joy who loves to play and is equally fond of her nap times. Her gentle nature and love for children make her an ideal companion for a family with kids or anyone who appreciates the cheerful company of a loving pup. Brooklyn's journey to find a new home comes as her current family's older dog has not taken well to her, which is often just a matter of personal chemistry between pets. Despite this, Brooklyn has shown nothing but affection and playfulness. She is a quick learner, always eager to please, and ready to fill her new home with happiness and puppy kisses. Adopting Brooklyn means bringing a ray of sunshine into your life. She promises to be a loyal friend and a joyful addition to any family. Her playful antics and snuggly moments are sure to capture your heart.

Story
Odie came to us after he was horribly abused by his previous "home" that starved and were just plain awful to him. We are working on his confidence, weight gain, and helping him to learn what love is again. Odie is in a foster home where he will get everything he needs and more while he heals both physically and mentally from what he has been through. He has shown nothing but kindness and been super sweet to every animal and person he has met so far; even with everything he's endured. If you want to help Odie learn to be loved and trust again, please fill out an application for this sweet boy.Odie will be neutered before he's adopted.
