Story
Dubbie loves a lot of things, and one of his favorite activities is walks around our Community Animal Center with our volunteers. He can't wait for the day he's strolling by your side in your neighborhood! This smiley fella is a great walker and is so proud of his 'sit' and 'stay'. He's one smart cookie and can't wait to learn more. His favorite game is fetch. He's in heaven with a tennis ball or toy to bounce around with!

Story
PUPPY: Huckleberry ~~ Male, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, White with Black & Brown, 23 pounds, DOB: 11/14/2025 This adorable, cuddly and social little potato is oh so huggable and happy, has the sweetest disposition and wants to play all day. His tail and body are in constant motion as he greets each person he meets and gives everyone his undivided attention. He has so much joy to share and would enjoy having a family of his own to love. If you’ve been considering adding a new member to your household, come meet Huckleberry to see if he is a good fit for your home, lifestyle and family. Like any puppy, Huckleberry has plenty of energy to burn and would benefit from a home with a fenced backyard. Since he is a puppy, he will need some supervised outdoor playtimes during the day so he can let loose and have some fun. This little guy is no couch potato, so bring your A Game! He does tend to be a little mouthy and wants to playfully explore and chew on everything. Huckleberry will need some safe, durable chew toys and training to help during this process. Huckleberry is not yet housebroken and is also working on leash training. He will need some help from you to learn what he is expected to do ~~ but he’s a smart little guy and should learn quickly. A little patience goes a long way when acclimating pets to a new home and will pay off in the long run with this gorgeous puppy! And, of course, you can always hire a Trainer for some Pro Tips! Huckleberry has been dewormed and has received his first set of vaccines and vet services. Any additional vaccines required after adoption are NOT INCLUDED in the adoption fee and are the sole financial responsibility of his new owner. His neuter surgery and a HomeAgain Microchip ARE included in the $153 adoption fee (around 9-12 months of age). To meet Huckleberry and see if he is a good match, visit him at Crabapple Knoll Vet Clinic, 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, GA. 770.475.8272. Weekdays 630AM to 7PM, Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We are closed on all major holidays. No appointment is needed to meet any of our adoptable pets. Please visit at least two hours prior to closing.

Story
LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! I’m the cutest little fluff ball you ever did see. Hello there, my name is MJ. Not only am I beautiful, but I'm extremely sweet. I’m just a happy puppy that is going on 3 months old and am enjoying life to the fullest. My mom‘s name is Karma and she had 6 puppies. All got adopted, including myself! Come to find out I was a little too rambunctious for one of the older dogs that adopted me. The 2 year old dog I was able to play with all the time. I played tug-of-war, snuggled, slept and wrestled. The 10-year-old dog really could not handle me. So lucky me I’m up for adoption for a family that is active and that loves puppies. I just had my second series of puppy vaccinations. Nottely Oaks Animal Hospital said I weigh about 19 pounds. My mom was about 40 pounds and Dad was about 68 pounds. When I grow up I should be somewhere in the middle. I like playing with other dogs, even if they are bigger than me. I am a young puppy so I have a lot to learn. I’m sure I get along with cats even though I have not met one yet. My foster Mom said “Cats Rule” I’m sure I’ll figure it out. I am crate trained. I love kids and everyone I meet! I would be a wonderful family dog. If you have a fenced in yard so I can play with your kids or other dogs that would be terrific. Since I’m young I sleep and play a lot. I am a puppy. I will have all my puppy shots, plus annual vaccines good for one year. This is included in my adoption fee. It’s only $150.00. That is a steal!!!! Not to mention my spaying is included. I must get a little older before Nottlely Oaks can spay me. Oh, I almost forgot. I will be microchipped for free at time of spaying. If you are interested, please contact Safe Pet Project in Blairsville, Georgia. Fill out an application at : www.safepetproject.org or call 706-400-7076 ext. 2. Don't forget to leave a message so our Adoption Coordinator can contact you.

Story
Meet Bebe This adorable little chihuahua Bebe is four years old. She weighs just 10-12 lbs. She was surrendered when her mom became homeless and had to give her up. Bebe was distraught. She had no idea what was happening and she was sad and scared. At first Bebe just sat in her kennel trembling in fear. It broke our hearts so we moved her to a quieter place in our shelter. She loved that! Bebe started decompressing and warming up. She now loves when we come in and run towards us with enthusiasm. She loves attention. She loves belly rubs, being held and carried around. Bebe gives kisses and happy tail wags. She loves treats and takes them so gently. Bebe loves running in our play yard, especially when her caregivers play with her. She has great fun and gets the zoomies. She appears to be more house trained than not, and walks great on a leash. Bebe's housemate is another of our friendly dogs, Joy, and they get along great. Sometimes Joy, who's much bigger, wants to play and comes on a little strong, and Bebe will let her know with a soft growl when it's too much. She seems to be fine with cats, if a little afraid of them. Bebe is gentle and friendly. She's a happy girl these days. We absolutely adore this pup who's overcome so much. She is going to be a very loyal and loving companion for a special someone or family. If interested in welcoming Bebe to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please use the downloadable application found on our homepage. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals.
