Story
Hello! My name is Max. Location: Chubbuck, ID Age (Estimate): 3 Years Sex: Male/Neutered Microchipped: Yes Current Vaccines: Yes Parasite Prevention: Current Weight: 11 lbs. Children Under 10: No Children Over 10: Yes if small-breed savvy Friendly With Dogs: Yes Friendly With Cats: Unknown Potty Trained: Mostly (uses potty pads when inside for long periods of time) Crate Trained: Yes Leash Trained: Mostly Adoption Fee: $400 Additional Notes: Max arrived at SSH on 11/4/2024. He's timid at first but will come around when given some time. He's not shy about giving kisses and pawing at your leg or hand for extra ear scratches. His favorite place is wherever you are but he really likes snuggling on the couch. If you work from home, he'd love a bed under your desk. He deeply loves his people. Max tolerates other dogs but struggles with dog pack dynamics. He can be pushy and will try to be dominate (barking, posturing, nipping) with other older males but loves to play with puppies of any sex. He's incredibly sweet but we feel he would do best in a home where he is the only pet. We also think he would do better in a home with no small children. Max was passed around to several homes before coming to us so we're really excited to find Max his final, furever home! Hello! My name is Balto. Location: Chubbuck, ID Age: 2 Years Sex: Male/Neutered Microchipped: Yes Current Vaccines: Yes Parasite Prevention: Current Weight: 51 lbs. Children Under 10: Yes Children Over 10: Yes Friendly With Dogs: Yes Friendly With Cats: No Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Mostly Leash Trained: Working on it Adoption Fee: $130 Additional Notes: Balto arrived at SSH on 10/23/2025. He was very sickly. His owner passed away and the surviving family put him out on the streets to fend for himself. He never left the general area of his home until it was time to be rescued. Fast forward a few weeks and here we are. Balto is putting on weight, been groomed, fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. He's great with kids and will selflessly play dress-up. He's also great with other dogs, both big and small. We're looking for a home for Balto that has a large backyard or space where he can run and play with another dog in the home. A child who would love on him would be a bonus! Balto is currently working on some car ride anxiety and has a training plan in place for prospective applicants but otherwise he's a 10/10 perfect boy!
