Story
Meet Oakley, Professional Snow Enthusiast Hi, I’m Oakley. I’m a 7-year-old, neutered male Husky with a very serious résumé that includes: • Olympic-level snow zoomies • Advanced kid-loving skills • Excellent dog-to-dog diplomacy If there’s snow on the ground, I’m thriving. If there’s no snow on the ground, I’m still thriving but dramatically waiting for winter to return. I get along great with other dogs and kids and consider both excellent members of my fan club. Cats, however… yeah, that’s gonna be a no from me. We can all agree to live separate lives and be happier for it. I’m old enough to have some wisdom, young enough to still sprint through the yard like I just heard the word “walk,” and handsome enough to stop traffic on snowy sidewalks. Now let’s address the fur in the room. I shed. A lot. Seasonally. Emotionally. Spiritually. If you’re worried about dog hair, I recommend you simply brush it off. Literally. Grab a brush. We’ll bond. You’ll vacuum. It’ll be fine. If you’re looking for a loyal, fluffy sidekick who treats winter like a personal playground, I’m your guy. Bring snacks. And maybe a sled. If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, and are dewormed.

Story
Hi… I’m Shelby. I’m a 2–3 year old Pit mix, about 50 pounds of gentle heart wrapped in a very cute body, if I do say so myself. I can be a little shy when we first meet. I like to take a moment to make sure you’re one of the good ones. But once I know you are? I lean in. I melt. I become your personal, professional snuggle consultant. My favorite hobbies include soft eye contact, quiet companionship, and collecting head scratches like they’re rare treasures. Everyone says I’m extremely sweet and well mannered. I don’t need to be the loudest dog in the room. I’d rather be the one sitting politely beside you, wagging my tail and waiting for my turn to love you. I seem to be dog friendly, but I believe in proper introductions. First impressions matter, after all. A meet and greet will help make sure we’re the perfect match. As for cats, I’m not quite sure yet. With slow, respectful introductions, I might do just fine. If you’re looking for a gentle soul, a loyal shadow, and a 50 pound lap dog who thinks personal space is optional once we’re bonded… I’m your girl. Love, Shelby If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. Story
Meet Dipsy Dipsy is a 4-year-old Heeler mix (his exact age will be confirmed at the vet) weighing in at 60 pounds of pure sweetness. He’s been living the indoor/outdoor life, so as he transitions to being a full-time house dog, he’ll need frequent potty breaks while he learns the routine. With a little patience and consistency, he’ll catch on just fine. This boy is all about love. Scratches? Yes. Cuddles? Absolutely. Extra affection for no reason at all? His favorite kind. Dipsy truly thrives on human connection and is happiest when he’s close to his people, soaking up every bit of attention you’re willing to give. Dipsy seems to do well with other dogs, though a meet and greet is required to be sure it’s a good fit. He has lived around cats before, but a slow, thoughtful introduction would be best to set everyone up for success. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who just wants to be loved and included, Dipsy is ready to be your new best friend. If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. Story
Lily 3–4 Years Old • Female • Great Dane Mix • 100 lbs Meet Lily — a gentle giant with a big heart and an even bigger love for attention! At around 100 pounds, this beautiful Great Dane mix is full of personality and charm. She’s incredibly smart and eager to connect with her people, making her a wonderful companion for someone ready to give her the love she deserves. Lily thrives on affection and enjoys being part of the action. Whether it’s learning new things or soaking up belly rubs, she’s happiest when she’s with her humans. She seems to prefer male dogs over female dogs, so a meet-and-greet will be required if you have other pups at home. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown, but she may do okay with proper introductions. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and loving best friend in a stunning Great Dane package, Lily might be your girl! If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. Story
Meet Obie 6-year-old Samoyed/Husky Professional Snow Enthusiast. Full-time Fluff. Hi. I’m Obie. Yes, I woke up like this. I’m what happens when a cloud and a snowstorm fall in love. I’ve got the Samoyed smile, the Husky sass, and enough floof to insulate a small cabin. If shedding were an Olympic sport, I’d bring home gold, silver, and a consolation ribbon just for dramatic effect. Let’s get one thing straight: No kids. I prefer my kingdom calm, my humans grown, and my schedule free from sticky fingers and surprise tail tugs. I am extremely friendly, but I like my friendships mature and mutually respectful. Think cozy coffee shop energy, not daycare at recess. Now… snow. Snow is my religion. Snow is my hobby. Snow is my personality. When the flakes start falling, I transform into a majestic winter wolf poet. I zoom. I frolic. I dramatically fling my face into drifts like I’m filming a nature documentary called “Fluff of the North.” If you enjoy winter walks where your dog looks like he was born to pull a sled across Alaska, I am your guy. Personality highlights: • Extremely friendly • Loves people • Probably judging your snow shoveling technique • Will happily accompany you on brisk adventures • May sing the song of my ancestors if properly inspired I would thrive with an adult home that appreciates big personalities, bigger coats, and the occasional husky commentary. Give me cool air, snowy days, and a human who understands that I am both majestic and mildly ridiculous. Adopt me, and winter will never be boring again. If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. Story
Is such a good dog. Sweet with the children and isn’t very hyper. Loves to cuddle and get pets all day. He does get zoomies sometimes, but they only last for a minute or two. His behavioral problems are with food. He has very bad food aggression. You can’t eat without him standing around waiting for some, and if he does get some, he will growl and try to bite you if you try to take it away. He has bitten before a few weeks ago, but it didn’t cause much damage. We just do not have the ability to give him the training he needs, which is upsetting as he is perfect every other way.
