Story
Please help, we need a new home for a 2 year old Terrier, American Staffordshire. His name is Bozo. He hardly barks and so far loves people. He is house trained, likes the car and sleeps all night. We are not sure how he is with kids or other animals. We got him from an animal shelter with the hope of helping reduce my anxiety however it has actually increased. Therefore hoping to find a new home and not send him back to the shelter. I am willing to dive or meet to find him a home. He has all his shots and is neutered. Please share this post. Send me a message if your interested needs to go to a new home soon please.

Story
I got Millie when she was 7 months old. She is now 2 years old. When my parents and I got her, we think that she was neglected because she was all bones, very timid, and matted up. This is my first time having a dog of my own and I do not know how to train her. She is still very timid around new people and growls at them. I do have her in a crate because of this (and because she chews up stuff). She also chases our 3 cats and pounces at them, and when they go near her crate, she runs over there and tries to protect her food. Her last owner said she was good with other dogs but because of her being territorial over her food, i’m not too sure if she will be good with other dogs either. I think she needs a home without cats and possibly dogs and someone that can train her and has a fenced in yard or keep her on a leash/cable. She is a loving dog and very energetic. She loves the snow, water, and running.

Story
Introducing Mr. Hollywood!! A handsome 2 year old intact male Pitty. HOLLYWOOD is calm and quiet for a pup his age. Seems housetrained and to like everyone, though slow introductions are always recommended. At first we thought he was pouting about being stuck here instead of laying on the comfy couch he was used to - unfortunately no one came looking for him. We soon realized that is just who he is - he knows he is as handsome as they come and doesn't need to attract attention with an overabundance of excitement or barking. He knows the right person will come along and fall immediately in love with his smile and gorgeous eyes. HOLLYWOOD is a true star, just awaiting his day in the limelight!

Story
"DUDE" is an 8month old barrel of fun. He is 1/2 Pitty and 1/2 Aussie/Boxer. Just like his sister her is a sweet soul that could use a little training on leash skills, asic commands and a refresher on house training. Here at the shelter he seems to be house trained, but was said to still have the occasional accident in the home. Adopted and returned after the owner realized that Dude needs an active home, that has more time to spend with him, and a family because he has so much love to give!!

Story
Meet Enzo — your gentle sidekick with a heart of gold At just 1 year old and 44 pounds of pure sweetness, Enzo is the kind of dog who quietly steals the spotlight… and then politely gives it back. He hasn’t been with us long, but somehow he’s already become that guy—you know, the one everyone looks for first when they walk in. Enzo is a dream on a leash. Walks with him feel less like a chore and more like a peaceful little adventure with your favorite companion. No zig-zagging, no chaos—just a steady, well-mannered gentleman enjoying the breeze and your company. His vibe? Think “chill best friend.” He’s got a low to moderate energy level, making him the perfect mix of “let’s go explore” and “let’s go nap immediately after.” Enzo seems to get along with other dogs (he’s a polite “let’s meet first” kind of guy), and with slow, respectful introductions, he may do just fine with cats too. He appreciates good manners in others because, well… he has them himself. One important note from Enzo’s personal handbook: mealtime is sacred. He prefers to dine in peace like the refined gentleman he is, so a home without small children would be his comfort zone. If you’re looking for a loyal walking buddy, a calm presence, and a dog who brings a quiet kind of joy into every room—Enzo is ready to step into that role like he was born for it If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, and are dewormed.
